The woman on the stage was singing in a smooth, commanding voice. She was pretty much the opposite of me. Her skin was dark, she was also rather tall with a long sequenced dress hanging off her body. Her hair was light blonde and fell straight down her back. as she seemed to hold every ones attention without even trying.
I felt just a bit out of place, even with Synyster, my best friend, beside me. He had enough class for the both of us. This evening he was dressed in a deep red shirt. It was coupled with a pair of leather pants and matching boots that rode up over his knees. His red flame hair was down and curling around his waist. He had outfitted me in a black shirt, tight black pants and matching boots as Synyster . It was was simple, but actually more stunning than I had thought it would be when he bought it for me and asked me to wear it. Needless to say, I was more than a little put out when I tried to find a place to hide my gun. The damn outfit was too tight for me to hide the gun in a belly band around my waist. . I settled for strapping a knife around one of my calves, even though Synyster insisted that it would not be necessary since he had enough weapons for the both of us which had me wondering where he hid them all.. At heart I'm a boy scout and I always like to be prepared, even if my vampire friend doesn't think it is necessary. We were sitting at a private booth against the wall near the dance floor. A new club had opened up and the owner had invited Synyster to the opening night. There were a fair number of vampires, but mostly humans. I did notice that all of the servers and bartenders were shape-shifters in a variety of different flavors. The club was mostly shades of brown and red. The ceiling stretched up at least two stories and had huge crystal chandeliers hanging from it I settled back into the soft cushioning of our booth and listened to the music. The singer had just finished the previous song and I heard the opening of a new one. I scanned the dance floor and something caught my eye. I looked past all the heads of the dancing couples to a booth across the room. Lounging in the corner of the booth with his arm around a beautiful blonde woman, was Damien. I sucked in a breath. He was wearing an expensive black suit with a black shirt and black silk tie. And he was also wearing a faint grin as he stared across the dance floor at me.
