The Violet Corridor

Hello, this shall be my first work of fiction ever posted in a long time. I decided I'm bored with just writing things and never having anyone reading it. But this will be a collection of short stories, so I'll put individual warnings for each story arc. There may be more chapters for each story.

Part 1: The Flower Children

Warnings: None

Summary: Just a short rambling poem about nature.

--------------------------------

All around,
The children play dancing in between the lilies and the pomegranate trees.
How wistful their sighs,
How deep and joyous their laughs
I long for them to be,
For us to be,
Always and forever...
They are like fresh dewdrops falling from the great, sad oak tree,
They are the sound of a babe's laughter,
They are the innocence of a freshly fallen snow,
They are the comfort in a lover's hug.
My heart swells at the sound of there sweet, sweet songs,
I long to be one of them.
Dancing.
Dancing,
In a woven grass skirt
My hair wild and full of leaves and brush
My feet bare and one with the earth.
The foxes come to play.
The birds flit amongst the trees.
I join their game in the tall grass.
As the hide themselves in plain sight,
Their giggles giving them away.
There are no winner or losers.
All I feel is pure joy.
And I scoop a green child up and
swing her about.
She laughs and squeals with delight.
I want to be one of their brood.
I curse my birth,
I hide my pain,
From their prying moss brown eyes.
I know that I can never truly be a wild thing.
Running in the leaves and dancing all day and all night.
My mortal life--
Too short to be fretted carelessly
In frivolous play
And yet---
One last reprieve,
My worries will cease,
When flower children call to me
And bring me endless peace.
