In Your Eyes

Hey guyyss. This fic came out of nowhere. I was.. inspired and bored. So I decided to brush up on my (nonexistent) writing skills. Tell me what you think.

Title: In Your Eyes
Warnings: Ehh.. Adult themes?
Summary: In your eyes, had I always been this delicate?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There he was. His light blue eyes staring through him, cold as ice as it pierced through cobalt black. He looked as perfect as he always has, his blond hair neatly groomed with just the right amount of the tousled look as he sat with the girl beside him. But of course, the blond haired, blue eyed Adonis looked away as soon as the image of Hito standing in the entry registered in his mind. Avoiding a person really would not work if he kept staring at them. Hito knew all this, and that was why today he was dressed in such clothing that would be impossible to miss as he walked in the door. Black eyes looked down as blue ones flickered away. He couldn't let Kiri know how nervous he really was for that would ruin his plan altogether. Instead, he straightened his back, took a deep breath and walked right past Kiri, determination lacing his steps.

Today, he would win Kiri back. Dressed in fitted dark washed jeans, a black jacket, and a t-shirt that Kiri had once told him was his favorite, Hito caught the eyes of many guests. He smiled to them.

In his peripheral vision, Kiri didn't move. In fact, he acted as if he didn't see Hito at all as he placed himself on the couch across them. Instead, Kiri turned his head towards the blue-haired bimbo with a large bust sitting beside him and whispered in her ear. She giggled. Hito stiffened. He had no reason to, for this was a host club and that's what the men employed here were paid to do but the way that he had whispered to her. It reminded Hito of what he himself used to do to Kiri.

Hito cleared his throat and the blue haired girl looked up at him. She looked him up and down, eyes clinging to him the way his t-shirt clung to him.

"May I join you?" Hito asked. This was the standard question to ask in order to entertain with another host. In this case, Hato needed to ask this question for he was a host himself. A week ago, he didn't need to.

---------------------
Kiri smiled as Hato put his arm around his shoulder. The three girls across from them blushed as Hito lowered his head to the juncture where Kiri's neck met his shoulders. Hito placed a kiss there and dragged his tongue up the side of Kiri's neck as Kiri's smile gave a little and he groaned. One of the girls giggled as the other two turned more red if that were possible.

It'd been a six months since they started to entertain together, or as Kiri saw it, started dating. The club that they worked at was well known for their hosts who put on a 'show' for their guests. It was quite popular and attracted girls from across the country. For Kiri and Hito, business had never been better for them since they started to put on 'shows' with each other. More people started to ask for them when they came for visits and many thought of them as a couple for they didn't entertain with other hosts besides each other.

Of course, there were times when Kiri wasn't there and Hito was left alone, or Hito took the day off and Kiri was the only one there but the clients forgave them. After all, no matter how great the couple, it wasn't possible for them to stick to each other like glue and never separate. But being accepted as a couple like this meant that they didn't ask the standard question before entertaining with each other. It was a good thing for it was quite troublesome to ask the question every time before sitting down with someone else.
--------------------

The blue haired girl giggled and her nose wrinkled as she gave Hito a smile that she must thought was seductive and stuck out her chest a little more than was necessary. She might have pulled off the look if it weren't for the little piece of the seaweed which she were eating that was stuck in her teeth.

However, Hito smiled back and said again, "May I join you?"

There was still no response from Kiri who looked as if he was suddenly very interested in the smooth texture of the leather couch that he and the girl were sitting on. Fortunately, the girl turned to Kiri and nudged him.

"Kiri, it's not nice to ignore your boyfriend. Don't you think that it'd be nice if he joined us?" She obviously didn't know what had happened last week.
---------------------

He rushed hurriedly into the host club. He was almost an hour late for his shift. Hito would be mad at him for they were scheduled to entertain today right when his shift would start. Kiri knew that Hito didn't like it when people were late and Kiri didn't like it when Hito was upset. Kiri turned a corner and gave his jacket to the bartender who would put it away for him. He would have missed Hito's jet black hair if it weren't for the bartender who glanced anxiously in that direction.

'Hito...' The thought struck him as hard as lightening would have struck a tree. If Kiri thought that the tree would have been hurt, he understood the pain now. 'How could you, Hito.'

He couldn't bare to watch anymore. Couldn't bare the way Hito buried his hand in the other man's hair as they kissed. Couldn't watch the way Hito's hand ran up and down the other man's thigh. Couldn't stand the thought that Hito had had enough of him. And yes, to say he understood the pain of a tree being struck by lightning was an understatement. He felt it.

Hito raised his eyes away from the girl across from them and saw Kiri. His beautiful face marred by the expression of hurt. Of betrayal. He had to do something before Kiri ran out the door. Hito sat up straight and removed his hand from the other man's thigh. He couldn't even remember the guy's name now. All he knew was that he needed to stop Kiri from walking out the door; out of his life.

"Kiri! Wait!" He shouted. His voice cracked and he realized the whole club was now staring at him. He saw the way Kiri's eyes avoided his. The way they desperately tried to blink back tears. Hito hurriedly made his way over to Kiri.

"It's not what it looks like. Listen," He couldn't believe how cliche he sounded.

But Kiri didn't listen. He grabbed his jacket back from the bartender and walked away from Hito. Before Kiri got too far, Hito's hand wound itself around Kiri's hand. Kiri turned.

"Kiri, listen. I just needed a break from you." Of course, that came out sounding not the way it should have. Kiri snapped his hand out of Hito's grasp and ran out of the club.
------------------------------------

Hito thought about it as the girl looked at Kiri expectantly. It really didn't come out sounding the way he had meant it to. That day, Kiri had been late and Hito had no other engagements to attend to. The girl who had scheduled with them was here on time and Mamihe, another host, was there also without anyone to entertain. So Hito had invited him to help entertain the girl along with himself. He had agreed of course, since Hito was someone much requested at the club and keeping someone's company along with Hito would raise his own rep.

Before, Hito had been thinking that he needed a change at work and something different that day so that other customers would not feel bored of him and Kiri. A little change for that day would also brush up on his skills of interaction. So much time with Kiri has made them accustomed to what each other wanted. What to say in each others' presence, and what to do that would please their guests. He didn't mean it in a way that he would break off from Kiri altogether. Just a little break from Kiri. But because Hito loved Kiri, he would always come back to him. Would always do anything for him. Of course, Hito didn't need Kiri to know this fact. It might scare him for it has only been 6 months.

The girl stood in front of him now.

"Well, if Kiri won't move, I'll move. Go sit over there." She smiled at him as if it were the best idea she had ever come up with.

Hito got up and sat where the girl once sat, right beside Kiri. He could feel the tension rolling off of Kiri in waves. His blue eyes that had once been filled with so much laughter was cold and emotionless as they looked at Hito.

"Hey Hito!" Kiri's voice was happy, glad, and even filled with love as he said those words. He pasted a smile onto his face. Those who didn't know Kiri as well as Hito did would have been fooled. Hito wasn't.

Hito smiled at him. Those who didn't know Hito well would have saw that it didn't reach his eyes. Kiri frowned. His blond eyebrows knitted together. The soft lips that Hito had become so accustomed to kissing pressed together and formed a line. Kiri's eyes narrowed. The girl with blue hair who now sat across form them stared in puzzlement as emotions flitted across her face. Confusion, anger, sadness, and finally, understanding.

"Ngh..." Kiri's mouth fell open as he doubled over, arms clutching his midsection as he panted in what looked like pain. Startled by the suddenness of Kiri's movement, Hato's arm reached over to grip Kiri's shoulders only to find that they weren't shaking as they should have been if Kiri was really hurt. He understood now, for all hosts were brilliant actors and Kiri was no exception. The blue haired girl seemed to have glided out of her seat to kneel before Kiri with concern written all across her face.

"Kiri, is something wrong?" Asking the obvious. Hito came to dislike this girl more and more without knowing her name. After all, he was never one who liked girls in any way.

"Haa, I think I'm just a little sick. D-don't worry about me Ayu-chan," Hito noted that Kiri even added the stutter for effect.

"Are you sure? Kiri was fine a moment ago..." At least the girl got that right. Kiri's blue eyes squeezed shut as he mimicked pain. Hito's hand rubbed up and down on Kiri's back.

"I, I think I just need a break."

Hito's hand paused on Kiri's back before resuming again. Hito was probably the only person who noticed this quote from himself. Kiri rose and pushed Hito's hand off.

"I'm just going to the back to rest for a bit." Kiri said curtly and turned away. He stumbled along as he made his way to the lounge where Hosts took breaks. Hito watched until he disappeared behind the turn of the hallway. He turned back to the girl.

"Ayu right?" Hito smiled at her and extended a hand to her. Ayu looked up with genuinely worried eyes and took Hito's hand into her own.

"Don't worry Ayu-chan. Kiri's okay." Hito was a good actor too. If he had to put up with her in order to wait for Kiri to come back, he'll do it. If there was one word to describe Hito today, it would be determined. The girl gripped his hand in both of hers.

"Hito, I know that you must think little of me but Kiri's heart is very delicate. Please don't play with it. I know you've been together for some time now, but it looks like you guys are having a fight." She looked very sincere.

Hito smiled at her. Maybe he had been wrong about her.

"I'll be good to him. It was just a little misunderstanding. Nothing big."

"Please sort it out with him Hito. It makes me sad to see him so upset. He even swooped so low as to act sick to get away from you."

He had been wrong about her. She wasn't as oblivious as he thought she was. Being so genuine about her feelings about Kiri made Hito think higher of her. He thought about what she said. Kiri really was a delicate person. Someone who needed to be cared about and loved.

"Would Hito be so kind and check on Kiri for me? It'd be great if you could cheer him up for me." Ayu smiled at Hito expectantly. The smile had hidden meaning. Hito nodded to her and set out to do what he had been meaning to do for the past few weeks. Make up with Kiri.
