"I broke up with him because he was controlling. Plus, with him working third shift and me
working second shift we never saw each other" explained Kaylee
The two girls were at a small cafe' in the middle of town. They met through Kaylees' now ex-boyfriend. Brittany had known him for awhile and he met Kaylee at a party through a friend. They dated for over a year, and broke up just a few hours ago. Brittany, sixteen, and Kaylee, eighteen, had become inseparable friends since the met. They spent every waking hour they could with each other. You'd swear they were joined at the hip!
"Is it okay to be upset about it even if I'm the one that broke it off?" asked Kaylee
"Of course. You were with Jeff for an entire year and a half! That’s a long time." said Brittany lightly touching her friends’ hand.
"Thanks for the support. I know you probably don't want to hear all of my problems," said Kaylee
"No, that’s what friends are for. Besides you listen to my shit all the time." Brittany said smiling
"True!" Kaylee said laughing so much she almost fell of the stool.
"Hey, comon'!"
"I’m joking. You know I love you" said Kaylee smiling ear to ear
"Yeah I know,"
"Well I'm gonna split. Do you need a ride?" asked Kaylee
"No, I'm gonna stay and finish my drink, I'll call my mom when I'm done
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll see you later." said Brittany leaning in for a hug.
"Okay, call me later if you get a chance," said Kaylee returning the hug
"okay, bye." said Brittany to her friend that was now halfway out the door
Brittany finished her drink and call her mother as she told Kaylee she was going to do. While she waiting for her mother she ordered another drink and sat and thought...
