Family, Proposals, and Descriptions
Tall, feminine frame, but not too womanly facial features, with light brown hair and grey-green eyes, Malen walked down the brightly lit halls of the castle. His mother had summoned all him and his siblings. The five of them were supposed to meet her in the dining room where she would explain why she called for them. Knowing one of his older sisters Kulta though, she’ll get lost, even though she’s lived here for 173 years. He wondered why his mother hadn’t given her a servant to help her through the halls. Taking a right into another white walled, dark gray marble floored hall, Malen entered the second door on his left. Before he could open the large wooden double doors himself, servants did. He would never figure out how they did that. Do they have psychic abilities that tell them the exact time someone is going to come through the doors, Malen thought as he greeted his mother.
“Malen, my darling! How have you been?” She was a very enthusiastic queen. You would think, though, that she would have a darker personality, being the queen of the Moon and all. Mahina was a tall, slender, brunette, and looked no older than 28, even with having five kids. She was tan for a Lunarisan too. Her silver eyes showed her stand point, since only the royal family had the striking silver stones for eyes.
“I’m great mother, how ar-“ Malen was interrupted by his older siblings crashing through the door.
“Hello mother! It’s great to see you after all these hours!” A deep voice said this. Mwezi, Malen’s older sister, had a very deep tone that was slightly raspy but still womanly, and if she tried a little she could sound like a man. She was the spitting image of her mother. Same build, few inches shorter, same hair color but wasn’t quite down to her bum/tush/rear/bottom (whatever word you fancy). Mwezi though had grey eyes with flecks of blue.
“Oh dear, I think you guys have broken the doors. Well that will have to be fixed. Anyway, I see you have finally found your way here Kulta, wait where is Jizelle? Didn’t she come with you Laaja?” Laaja was the oldest; he also looked like their dad with his black hair, intense green mischievous eyes, crooked smile, and large, buff build. The smallest of all of the siblings was Kulta. She was short, had short white hair, pale skin, and deep purple eyes. Even though she was the tiniest, she was the smartess and most clever. The only one who came close was Jizelle. Jizelle was cold to everyone but her family. Her sharp shoulder length red hair made her the odd ball in her family, their grandmother had white hair as a child so Kulta wasn’t odd, and made her grey flecked purple eyes look almost black. She was even as tall as her mother.
“She said she had to fix something on her phone, I think that’s what she called it. I don’t know why she brought that back from Earth. It has barely any worth up here.” Laaja rolled his eyes as he said this.
“Oh hush you big lug. Some things that those humans have are really cool. Like the things they call computers. You can look up ANYTHING on there! But some things suck. Like those automobile things. They are so slow! How do they get to where they are going?” Jizelle exclaimed as she walked in.
“Great! You all are here! Ok, so I brought you guys here to tell you that I would like to retire,” Mahina put her hand up to silence them so she could finish, “because I met someone. I would also like to have one of you run the kingdom, as is the natural order, but I won’t be choosing. Instead I say that the first to find their soul mate will have the kingdom.”
“Great!” said Jizelle. “I came up here to tell you that I was engaged to a wonderful man named Kellan. I met him on Earth.”
“That is wonderful hun! Have you told him about being from the moon and that you will live to be centuries or even a millenium?”
“Not yet. I know that most humans would think I was crazy so I’m bringing him here.”
As he had been silent this whole time, Malen finally spoke up. “When will you be bringing him? And mother? Who is the person you have met?”
“Oh! I forgot thank you darling for reminding me! He’s an elemental from Earth. His name is Vance.” Their mother looked incredibly happy as she thought of Vance.
“We’re happy for you mother,” Mwezi said softly.
This is the beginning of a story I thought of…. I would like to know what you think so far.
Curiosity.
*EDIT* I added a wee bit to this… ok so a sentence, but I just thought I would let you all know. I realized after someone reviewed that I did indeed forget Malen’s description. Thanks to the two who reviewed.
