Chapter 1

It was a sunny day in Tokyo when a young man stepped out of the theatre with his friends laughing at how silly the movie was. When his cell phone rang, he quickly answered it.

“Yes I know Mother, I will be home soon.”

He smiled at his friends as he put his cell phone away.

“Guys I will see you tomorrow alright?”

His friends nodded their heads and laughed at him as he turned and walked away from them.

He was walking across the street when a car suddenly honked at him. He looked up just in time to see the car come to a stop right in front of him. A very pissed off man stepped out of the car and marched up to him.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing kid?"

“I am crossing the damn street. What else do you think I would be doing in the middle of the crosswalk.”

The man was mad at his reply.

“Did you not see me coming before you crossed the damn street kid?”

He looked at the man angrily. “Look here Mister, I crossed the street when the light gave me the OK to go forward."

The man sighed in frustration. He did not have time for this shit. He had a place where he needed to be at that moment. He walked up to his car and took his checkbook out and walked up to the young man before him.

“Tell me, how much does a poor kid like you need for compensation?” the man asked arrogantly.

He marched up to the man and punched him in the face.

“This is all I need for compensation. As for your money, I suggest you shove it up your rich ass you pompous bastard!”

He turned and walked away, leaving the man to stare at him in disbelief.

Interesting. This is the first time that someone has refused his money the man thought as he watched the young man disappear from his sight before he got back in his car and drove off.
-------
“Takumi is that you?”

“Yes Mother.”

“Can you come here for a sec? Your father and I need to talk to you about something?”

“Yes Mother,” he replied. He quickly made his way to the living room and sat down on the sofa.

“So what is it that you need to talk about?”

His father hesitated at first before he spoke up.

“We and the other tenants are being evicted from this apartment.”

He was shocked and turned to his mother, and she nodded her head sadly.

“Why are they evicting us and where will we go?”

His father went and picked up a letter and gave it to him.

He quickly read through it and looked at his parents.

“How can they do this to us and with such short notice? We are supposed to move out of here in one week!”

His father looked at him. “I understand how you feel Takumi.”

His mother looked at him. “We are going to stay with your grandfather until we can find another place to live.”

“Mom I don’t want to leave this apartment. I grew up here.”

His mother got up and hugged him. “I know you love this place but we don’t have a choice Takumi. Please do understand.”

“I still can’t believe that they are going to tear down this apartment and build a goddamn hotel instead.”

He gave his mother a small smile.

“I should start packing my stuff since we only have a week to move out of here.”

His parents watched him disappear into his room before turning to each other.

“He took it pretty well don’t you think dear?”

“Yes I think he did as well. We both know how much our son loves this home of ours.”

----------
Keisuke walked into his home and handed his jacket to his servant before climbing the stairs to his study.

As soon as he sat down on his chair, a pretty woman walked in and put her arms around him. He glared and shoved her off of him.

“Don’t you ever come into my home without my permission again. Do you hear me Janie?”

“Why are you being so mean to me? All I want is for you to love me like before.”

Keisuke laughed at her in amusement. He walked up to his door and shouted for his butler. Janie ran up to him.

“I am not leaving this house until you tell me that you love me and can’t live without me like before.”

Keisuke looked at her and bent his head down. Janie thought that he was going to kiss her so she wet her red lips and closed her eyes, waiting for his kiss.

“I would never fall in love with a gold digger like you, so go back to your fat rich husband Janie,” he said to her and pulled his face away in disgust.

Janie was surprised. She wasn’t expecting that she would need to make him believe her. She looked up at him.

“Keisuke please understand I love you not him. I was young back then and didn’t know any better. Please give me another chance.”

He pushed her away from him just in time to see his butler come up to him.

“Master do you need me to escort the lady out?”

“Yes and please do not let her into my home again, and make sure to tell the other staff as well.”

The butler nodded his head and dragged Janie by the arm and led her out the door.

Keisuke closed his study door, and walked back to his desk and looked up at the plan for the new hotel. Tomorrow he would go and see the location that his new hotel would be built on.

Janie stood outside the mansion and swore that she would have Keisuke marry her no matter what, and she would divorce that soon to be poor, fat husband of hers.
---------
Takumi was going down the stairs when he bumped in to the same man from yesterday.

Keisuke was also surprised to see the young man from yesterday.

He grinned at the young man before him. “Looks like we meet again young man.”

“Look, I don’t have time to start an argument with you. I have places I need to get to.”

Keisuke just grinned and refused to move from his spot, blocking the boy’s way out.

Takumi was going to ask the man to move one more time when his mother shouted for him.

“Takumi come quick! Your dad has just collapsed!”

He glared at the man before him and rushed back up the stairs to his apartment.

Keisuke decided to follow the young man.
----
“Mom we need to take Dad to a hospital.”

“I would be more than happy to give you a ride to the hospital.”

Takumi turned to the sound of the man’s voice and was about to protest when his mother said thank you to the man.

Two hours later, they were at the hospital being told that Takumi’s dad needed surgery.

His mother cried, and all he could do was tell her that everything would be alright.

“We do not have the money to pay for your dad’s surgery.”

“I am more than happy to pay for his surgery.”

Takumi turned to glare at the man. “We don’t need your money so get lost already you pompous bastard!”

Keisuke grinned at the young man before him.

“Look here boy I will give your family money to pay for the surgery, and in return you will work in my mansion and pay it off.”

His mother looked at him and back at the man.

“Takumi, I think it might be a good idea if you go to work for him and pay off the money for your dad’s surgery.”

He stared at his mom in disbelief.

Takumi sighed and turned to his mother. “I will do it for Dad.”

His mother smiled at him and gave him a hug. “Thank you and work hard my son.”

Keisuke walked up to the boy.

“It looks like you need my money after all boy.”

Takumi glared at the arrogant man and wished that he had never met the bastard.
