Dom Spero Spiro

AN: This is old. The other two pieces are more recent. The title so the series, Dom Spero Spiro means almost literally: while I breathe, I hope. It's kind of a celebration of life as one transitions and survives failed relationships. You may notice a lack of name usage and that's on purpose. It just kind of fit.



Journey of Goodbye



“So this is it, right?”

“Yeah...I'm sorry.”

“Don't be, these things happen. Do you love her?”

“Completely.”

“And she you?”

“I don't know but I have to try.”

“I get it. I do.”

“Really?”

“Yes. I wish you great luck and extreme happiness with this trail. May hope be your constant companion and love light your way.” She turned and started to walk down the stairs.

“Wait! Where are you going?”

“Away. Anywhere. Somewhere. I'm a bit redundant at this point.”

“But..”

“But what?”

“Nothing. You don't have to go.”

“I should. You deserve someone you can kiss as well as fuck.”

“I'm sorry...”

“Don't be. I'm not. Be safe and be well. If you need to talk sometime later, call me.” She said pausing on the stairs and turning back to press a business card card into his hand. “If you I will answer. Goodbye.”

“I hate this. I didn't-”

“Don't. It's done. I'm leaving. I hope she is all you ever hoped she'd be. Besides I have a part of you she never will.”

“Oh?”

“Yes. I sipped your innocence first. Later lover.”

“Bye-bye.” He whispered as she continued down the stairs and out of sight. Somewhere over head a hawk cried out and then the thunderous roar of a motorcycle was heard and disappeared. She was gone and he had the chance he now wanted, but as he climbed the stairs back up, he wondered doubtfully if he'd done the right thing....
