Kira woke to the sound of a large crash outside his bedroom window.

“What the hell?!” he shouted. Kira quickly jumped out of bed and grabbed his pants, stumbling into them he ran outside to investigate.
As he crept up to the barberry bushes near his window, he heard a weak moan coming from between them and recoiled – nearly losing his ill-fastened pants. After he regained his concentration he looked again, and suddenly a foot flew up and struck him in the face “Ow!” he said as he fell onto his backside, and a rather short boy jumped up and ran off into the wooded area behind the house before Kira could get a good look at him. When Kira returned to his senses, he was furious, he searched around for whoever it was that kicked him, but he didn't find anyone in the area.
Agitated, he kicked the ground and headed back around to the front of his house. Though when he passed his window, something caught his eye – a dark feather with a faint, but curious blue glow; was lying on the ground at his feet. He picked it up and asked himself
“Where did this come from?” kneeling down, and grabbing the feather before walking around to the front of his house, as he entered he tossed the feather on his couch, and plopped himself down next to it. Leaning forward he held his hands to his face.
“Is my nose bleeding? Ugh. Who the hell was that?” Not a moment later the alarm clock in his bedroom went off, and Kira looked at his watch to confirm the time, “5:00 am? Damn, I'm so tired.” he said under his breath.

Kira was exhausted and stumbled back to his room, throwing himself onto his bed, he laid there for over an hour unable to fall asleep, and out of the corner of his eye he noticed someone peeking through his window, “The Hell!!?” he shouted, as he jumped up, throwing his pillow at the window, “Get out of here!!!”
whoever it was, ran off again, as if startled by the pillow hitting the window. After a while Kira turned to the clock
“Damn, it's already 6:30... I better get a shower.”
He got up out of bed, and removed his clothes, but as he was headed to the bathroom, he heard a door slam open, “What now?!”

Obviously irritated, he wrapped a towel around himself so he could go check the door, as he entered the living room he noticed the door was wide open, “Didn't shut it all the way I guess...What is that sound? Rain?”, walking towards the door, he noticed that it had started raining pretty hard outside.

“Today is going to suck.” he said as he proceeded to the door, looking outside he said to himself
“Yep, today is really going to suck...”

He shut the door, and locked it - after he was sure it was securely closed; and headed back towards the bathroom, once inside he threw his towel aside, and jumped into the shower to turn on the tap.

“I can't get that guy out of my mind...” he said quietly to himself
“Who is he? Where did he come from? What the hell does he want?”

Minutes later, he heard a creaking sound, pulling back the shower curtains to see what it was, he noticed the same boy poking his head through the bathroom door. A look of angst crossed his face as he shouted

“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?”

Kira pulled at the curtains, and jumped out of the shower – slipping and falling to the ground

“Fuck!”

Startled, the boy ran off.

“Damn it! Where is he going now?” Kira said furiously as he got up off the ground.

He ran out into the living room hoping to find out who it was that was constantly bugging him, and the window was wide open, and his couch soaked by the windswept rain.

“What's going on?”

Kira asked himself, standing there in front of the couch, sopping wet, naked and freezing,
he closed the window and noticed the condition of his couch.

“Damn it!”

He headed back to the bathroom, turned off the water, and dried himself off.

“There is water everywhere...”

He headed to the bedroom and threw on some clothes

“I better get a mop...”

Kira headed toward the kitchen to get a mop out of the pantry, and again, he noticed the boy outside his window, but this time, in the living room. Kira asked himself

“What is going on? Who...” Kira sighed and said through a drawn breath “I Give up.” before continuing to the pantry. The boy kept watching him cautiously, and as Kira turned, he looked at him again, but this time making eye contact for the first time. Kira couldn't help but pause, and under his breath he said to himself

“He's beautiful, isn't he?”

Kira couldn't get over his golden eyes, and hair. Kira knew when he was defeated, and so he just returned the look with a smile. Kira took the mop and walked back towards the bathroom to clean the floor.

“Damn it, I just remembered that essay I was supposed to turn in today... What time is it now?”
Kira looked at his watch
“...and it's almost eight... I still need to go to the grocer too.“ he continued
“I'd better get ready.” Kira put on his shoes and grabbed his jacket.
“Wow, it's raining pretty hard.” he though to himself as he headed to his car
“I - OH! My report!!” he ran back into his house and grabbed the report off his coffee table, sighing in relief.
“Whew. Mm, I wonder what happened to that kid; I hope he's alright out there in the rain.”
Kira drove down the hill towards the city, thinking to himself
“Alright... First I need to drop off this report at Tanaka-Sensei's place. Then I need to go to the grocer...
Kira lost train of thought as the rain seemed to get worse and began to worry about the boy
“I really hope that guy is alright, should I go back and look for him?” he asked himself.
After thinking about it for a moment he said
“He should be alright... I hope.”
He continued to drive towards the city, and after about twenty minutes, he finally reached Tanaka's home. Gathering his report, he jumped out of the car, and knocked on Tanaka's door.
“He must be out. I'll just drop it in his mailbox.”
As he got back to his car, a gloomy feeling came over him again
“Something doesn't feel right, I just can't shake these feelings. I'll go to the grocer later, I need to make sure that boy is alright.”
Half way up the road to his house, he noticed something lying in a mud puddle in the field down the hill to the east of Kira's house. It was hard to see it with the heavy rain, but he had a gut feeling that it was the boy.
“It that? Fuck! It is... I knew something wasn't right!”
Kira quickly pulled over skidding with the mud that covered the road, he climbed out of the vehicle and ran towards the boy
“You better be alive kid!” shouted Kira.
As he approached him he slipped in another nearby mud puddle
“Damn it!”
He quickly scurried back to his feet and rushed to the boy kneeling beside him.
“Good, you still seem to be breathing, you must have slipped and tumbled down that hill. You're filthy... I'm taking you back to my place.”
Faint, but semi-conscious, the boy managed to look up at Kira, who smiled back down at him. The boy seemed content, and promptly fell asleep, as Kira lifted him in his arms. When he got to the car he placed him in the back seat of his car.
Shortly they finally arrived at Kira's house. Kira carried the boy inside and laid him on the couch. He was wrapped in a wet, and muddy white kimono
“We need to get you out of that, or else you might get sick.” said Kira.
As he removed the kimono, he couldn't help but look over the boy's body
“You're beautiful...” said Kira under his breath, as he ran his hand across his skin. “... and you're freezing, hold on, I'll get you a blanket.”
Kira got up and grabbed a heavy blanket from his bedroom and quickly wrapped it around to boy to warm him up, shortly after, he pulled a chair from the kitchen up to the side of the couch, where he sat, just watching the boy sleep.
Nearly an hour passed before Kira got up to get a drink, when he returned he look at the boy's closed eyes and said, “You look so peaceful.”
He moved the chair aside, knelt down next to the couch and ran his fingers through the boys golden hair.
It wasn't long before the boy finally woke and looked up at Kira, smiling. Returning the smile Kira took another drink and asked
“Did I wake you?”
The boy shook his head no, and Kira smiled.
“Do you have a name?” asked Kira.
The boy looked confused and replied through a weak voice
“A... name?”
“So you 'can' talk. I'm glad; but yes, do you have a name? I mean, what did people call you? Where you came from.” replied Kira.
“I... I don't know.”
Kira chuckled, and said, “Well we need to call you something. Don't we?”
Thinking for a moment, Kira put a knuckle to his forehead and looked down, as if thinking deeply and said
“How about Kin? It means golden, like your hair - and eyes. Do you like it?”
The boy nodded, and smiled softly at Kira.
“Great! You can call me Kira. So Kin, are you hungry? I can make something for you if you like.”
“Y... yes please...” replied Kin nervously
Kira playfully tapped a finger tip on the end of Kin's nose and said, “Alright! I'll be right back, okay?”
Kira stood up and went into the kitchen flipping on the lights, he decided to warm up some Miso Soup for the boy, however by the time he was finished, and brought it out to the boy, he was fast asleep on the couch.
Kira gave him a warm smile and placed the soup on the coffee table and knelt down next to the boy to give him a gentle hug, before pulling up the chair he had earlier. On which he sat, and fell asleep as well.
