Henry/Vicki Undercover
“Why is it that basically every case I get requires me to either go undercover or be confined to a car for hours?” Stopping mid-stride, Vicki cocked her head to the side and preteneded to think. “Hmmm… now that I think about it, the problem isn’t the cases, it’s” glaring, she followed the woman who had just ran into her with her eyes. A look of utter disgust coloring her features. “you. The problem is you.”
Raising one of his brown eyebrows, Henry just smiled his most charming and seemingly inncoent grin.
“Oh, don’t play innocent with me. You have to be the only male on this planet that can cause the same ‘must have him now’ response in 50 year olds, 15 year olds and every age in between.” Turning away from him, Vicki continued to walk towards the club they were working tonight. With a resigned hand, she tried to pull the leather skirt she wore. This was the last time she let Coreen help her dress for a Bait ‘n’ Trap. Vicki had tried talking her way out of the thigh high boots but had only succeeded in getting knee high stilleto ones instead. At least I was able to forgo the fishnets.Tugging up on the black corset made her cringe once more. Turning to shoot a glare at the vampire following along behind her, she vented, “and don’t think that I’m going to forget your part in this get-up. And stop staring at my ass!”
“Vicki, you’re a very attractive woman but in that outfit,” smiling that smile of innocence, “I don’t think that it’s the attention that I gather that we will have to worry about. I’m sure Nathanial Bradley will just fall into your…um… hands.”
Stopping the two of them took their place in line. The mill of voices drowning out anything they might say to any passerby. Even the bouncers walking around wouldn’t have been able to hear anything unless it was a bullet or an ear piercing shriek.
“I could have worn a tank top instead of this.” She muttered, once again trying to hide a centimeter or two more of flesh. “If I get picked up by a cop or propositioned I am holding you eternally responsible.” Closing her eyes, Vicki mentally prepared herself for the display she and Henry were going to put on tonight. It’s to save lives. Remember this. “If you don’t stand beside me in three seconds Henry Fitzroy…”
Chuckling, Henry moved from behind her. He was almost ashamed to say that he had been sneaking glances at her as she’d walked. It was of course to make sure that the leather mini Coreen had lent them was hiding more than it was showing. It passed, but barely. Slding next to Vicki he causually wrapped an arm around her waist. The universal male stance for “she’s mine, back off.” He’d noticed he wasn’t the only one with eyes drawn to her particularly firm backside. Leaning down he whispered, “Don’t worry, I’ll defend your honor. Unless of course you catch the eye of a serial killer. Then you’re on your own.”
“Yeah, that’s what they all say but, then can never actually follow through.” Turning she smiled up at the large mass of man gaurding the door.
"Go in." Was his only reaction. Turning to Henry the bouncer's eyes assessed him from Gucci clad toes to perfectly tossled curly head. "ID"
Hiding a snicker, Vicki turned into the club and let the chaos inside invade her senses. Moving a little to the right of the door she waited for Henry.
"Why is it that I always get carded?"
“Well, bouncer’s are trained to pick out the dangerous ones,” came a reply from behind.
Without even turning around, Henry replied with, “Detective Celluci.”
