Ballad Blood

Prologue
Sometimes I think that they were right, well my life would have been a lot easier if I did listen to them.
Sorry, I suppose I should start at the beginning, my name is Jaden Demyan Ballad Blood Montgomery Remington, (mouthful isn’t it). I was born to two people who hated each other, why were they married then? I hear you ask, well two words, arranged marriage. But not just any arranged marriage nope, they had to have the most important and dangerous ever, the whole point to the marriage was to the end the war between the Lycans and Carpathians which has been going on for nearly five centurys. There were of course some people on both sides that liked the war, since both creatures enjoy blood and raw flesh, so of course they tried to kill Angelique and Tobias so they went into hiding.
The marriage contract stated that they had to stay married and faithful for three hundred years, that’s why I’m guessing they ended up conceiving fifteen children which I’m the eighth of. So after the three centuries had passed, Angelique moved back home to Rose mansion with fourteen of her children, and left me with Papa. We went back to the Carpathian Kingdom to sort out the mess that happened while Papa was gone.
I was a hundred and thirty years old at the time, still young enough to be upset that Angelique left, leaving me behind even though I expected it. You see Angelique never did like me, partly because of my eye colour but mostly because I have merged my creatures.
I have the Montgomery emerald eyes, that indicts I have inherited the Montgomery mind magic, while Angelique or my siblings have blue eyes. I merged my creatures because I didn’t want to choose between them and have part of my soul die. Also I didn’t want to choose between the creatures I inherited of my mother over the ones I inherited of my father. Angelique tried to force me to choose because she’s scared that one of us will be more powerful than her and Grandfather Montgomery will choose the stronger child as heir to the Lycan kingdom.
Why are we so powerful? You ask, well were all born with four magical creatures, Lycan and Siren from Angelique, and Carpathian and Incubi from Father.She was right about one thing though because after I merged I came into my inheritance early. Even though we have always had our creatures when we came into our inheritance,( normally at 287 years old 17 in creature/being years) we came into our full powers, before than we have enough power to make sure we survive but that’s all. Only the more powerful beings come into their inheritance early as they need more time to learn how to control their powers. I came into my inheritance at seventy six years old (5 creature yrs), but there is no way I’d want to rule the Lycan Kingdom, even though I’m more powerful than Angelique, I mean I’m not even an Alpha.
One good thing was that when I merged, my creatures mutated my powers a bit instead of being a wolf shifter as that is what Lycans are, but without the pain and without being controlled by the moon, I’m now a Theriomorph. This means I can change into any creature I want, though I prefer the leopard, as well as being able to change my appearance in human form like the colour of my hair, eyes or the size of my nose for example. Papa reckons it’s because both sirens and incubi are appearance shifters so mixed with my Lycan power it made me into a Theriomorph.
I am also a strong telekinetic, telepath, psychometric which I inherited from the Montgomery’s. From the Siren I have the siren song which makes people do whatever I want them to, which is the reason I don’t talk much because it’s really hard to stop its affect and light travel. From the Incubi I have sexual allure and I also go into heat, I get extremely attracted to random people and want to drag them to the nearest private place to have sex. From my Carpathian side I got shadow travel, strength, speed and I’m fairly destructible.
That’s why it might have been better to have chosen because believe me I could do without the siren and incubus. Also I’m classed as both a dark creature and a light creature which is going to be a problem when I start school soon, as I’m going to share schedules with both.
The only reason I’m going to high school is because the human government passed a new law five years ago stating that all magical creatures/beings are legal citizens of the country they reside in, soon after they passed another one stating that any creature/ being aged under three hundred years (younglings) will have to attend school, were before entry they will take a test to determine what grade they will start in.
Lucky for me (note sarcasm) I’m only two hundred and thirty six years old (14 in creature years), which means I get to attend High school woohoo!!! Papa signed me up for Rosemont High, which is named after the politician who started the bill.
I took the test yesterday; I’m going to in grade nine, which is normally for nineteen year olds. I’m only fourteen I guess I’m a bit of a genius eh?
I’m also going to see my siblings for the first time in a century, From what I can remember this is isn’t going to be a happy reunion.
