Loving Ace

A Love Interest

Part 1
Derek stared out the window, looking down at the changing leaves of the forest behind his house; he, unfortunately, was grounded. His mother had caught him drunk...again, after staying out late at a party, missing his curfew by two hours. He wished Sam (his best friend) was there with him, but Sam hadn’t gotten caught, damn the bloody bugger, Derek thought.
Derek turned and looked in the mirror. He was tall, muscular, and 17-years-old, with dark hair and eyes. He and his gang were known well by the police. But Derek didn't mind, at least he was a babe-magnet with an award winning smile, and a reputation for his bed-time pleasantries.
Suddenly he heard a car pull into the driveway of the vacant house next door, it had been unoccupied for three months now, and had been used as a party spot by the local kids. Derek flew down the stairs and looked out the front bay window. Out of the car stepped a girl; her hair flew around her in long shining red curls. Derek tried to make out her face, but she walked gracefully out of view, and into the house. Derek looked at the moving van coming down the street. Derek flopped down into a chair and sighed wishing he could find out who this beauty was.

Derek finally made it out of that hellhole, two days later. He headed down the block to find Sam, if anyone would help him Sam would. He wore his usual baggy jeans and tight black tee-shirt that showed off his well toned biceps and chest. The silver ring through his ear glinted in the afternoon light. Derek stepped up the driveway to Sam’s two car garage where he was working on his motorcycle.
“Sam, my bestest mate!” Derek said putting a strong arm around his friends shoulder.
“What do you want?” Sam answered not looking up from his work.
“While on house arrest I saw something walk into the house next door and it made me curious.”
Sam looked up at him with a look that clearly stated ‘Oh god not another girl’ Sam shook his head, and went back to fixing the muffler, brushing pieces of blonde hair from his eyes.
“Derek, you’re such a horn dog!”
“That’s why you love me!”
“No that’s why I have to stay with you so you don’t get yourself locked up.”
“Well you’ve done a very poor job!” Derek joked, sitting down, stretching his legs out in front of him.
“How about a little later, Der, I’m a kinda busy.”
“Fine, Fine!” Derek said and joined Sam in his work.

The next morning, at school, the gang headed to first hour with delight. Derek was talking with Reggie, while Sam and Fiona walked with their fingers entangled, Nick tagged along behind. They sat down in their usual spot at the back of the class, all still talking happily. Reggie nudged Derek and pointed at the door. Sam and Fiona looked up; standing there was a very punk looking girl, a single red curl falling in front of her right eye. Derek’s looked at Sam and raised his eyebrow meaning ‘that’s the something I saw’.
The girl stood in front of the group.
"This spot taken?" She asked Fiona, who shook her head, the new girl sat down in the seat in front of Fiona...and next to Derek.
“So what’s your name?” Derek said looking the girl up and down; she wore black leather corset boots that laced all the way up to her knees. She wore her camo pants tight with chains hanging down her legs, her black tank top was tight and showed off her curves, in block letters the front stated “AMMO” in bold, on her right bicep was a beautiful tattoo of a Celtic cross. Her slender wrists held multiple studded leather bracelets, and silver rings adorned her long fingers. Her face was very feminine with sharp sultry features, her lip piercing, and multiple ear piercing, gave her a dangerous sort of look.
“Astrid, but please call me Ace, sweetheart” She said with a smile, flipping the red curl out of her eyes, which were two pools of grey, and reminded Derek of the full moon. She bent over, revealing a studded belt and the edge of her laced panties, as she reached and picked a pencil off his desk, her long fingers brushed against his arm leaving goose bumps, and a warm sensation.
"Forgot mine..."

“Ok, we have…Algebra next; this is a good class to use if you didn’t get enough sleep.” Reggie remarked as they walked down the hallway. Astrid walked very close to Derek. They headed into the class room as the bell rang.
During Mr. Binns droning speech about triangles, Derek found that he couldn’t keep his eyes off of Astrid; she looked half asleep. Her red curls shined in the florescent light of the room. Her lip ring, glinted as she bit it in boredom, Derek knew he wanted her, but he’d have to gain her trust and get to know her first.
Astrid could feel Derek watching her, personally she though he was totally hot. She just wanted to kiss him the moment he asked her, her name in his silky voice. But after the life she left she’d warded off love forever. It was a weakness…and that was something she hated to show…weakness.

The gang thoroughly enjoyed showing Astrid around, she spent most of it next to Derek, and by the end of the day he had his arm around her shoulders, like he did to Sam or Reggie. She’d finally become one of the group, even Fiona liked her. Later they were all walking to a local diner called "Bob's Patty Shack". Astrid was laughing at something Derek had said and was about to fall over laughing when she bumped into something. This something felt very much like a human, and all the laughter stopped Astrid looked in front of her there was Jake Dunham (Derek had spent the better part of the day talking about him).
“Well…well…well if it isn’t little Jakie!” Astrid said each word dripped with sarcasm, as Derek helped her up, Jake looked at her with detest, picking his stuff up.
“Hello, Astrid.” Jake said acidly. Derek looked between the two, with utter confusement.
“Wait, you two know each other?” He said still utterly confused. He stepped up behind Astrid, putting a protective hand on her arm.
“Unfortunately, darling, yes; you see Jakie-poo here is my cousin, on my mother’s side.” She said with lament. Derek just stared at the two as they glared at each other. Suddenly Astrid pushed past Jake and headed down the street. The rest of the group ran to catch up.
“Well at least I’m not a thieving, murderous gangster, who’s been in the correctional facility twice!” Jake said with loathing, Astrid spun around and jumped at Jake her fists pounding in his face. It took both Derek and Sam to pull her away.
“I’ll kill you Jake! I’ve righted my wrongs, I quit that life. But my gang was my family…no one insults them. I’ll make your life a living hell!” Astrid said in a dangerous voice, her eyes flashed threateningly. Derek and Sam lead her away.
“What’s wrong, Ace? It’s only Jake!” Fiona said with a worried tone.
“I hate him, we all do!” She replied
“Who’s we?” Sam asked
“My two brothers, and I.” She replied suddenly smiling, like she was reminded of a good memory.
“Brothers?” Reggie said
“I’m the youngest, my oldest brother is Deacon, and the middle child is my brother, Drew. They are so over protective of me, maybe because when our parents died they were the only family I had other then my aunt and uncle Dunham, but the three of us tried not to talk to them. They both work hard to provide for me, even though our parents left us with quite a lot of money.” She finished as they sat down at a booth in the restaurant.
“Wow!” Reggie replied. Astrid stood up again, she glanced at Derek, and he met her gaze and smiled.
“I’m not that hungry, so I’m ganna go home.” She said brightly, standing up from her seat. Then turned and headed out towards the doors. Derek saw this as an opportunity…

Part 2
Derek followed her back to her house, when he stepped through the gate Astrid was sitting on a bench on the front porch of her house. Her head in her hands like she was trying to forget a horrible memory. She lifted her head at the sound of Derek’s footsteps.
“Ace? Can I ask you a question?” Derek asked sitting on the porch railing in front of her, placing his hands on her knees. But her silver eyes never left the deserted street.
“Shoot” She replied her gaze slowly moving to Derek’s face, her eyes searching him for something…but Derek couldn’t tell what.
“What did Jake mean by ‘thieving murderous gangster’?”
Astrid sighed and looked back into the street, as if she was trying to remember, “As you know I never really had that much of a family. So as I grew up I became more and more rebellious…it drove my brothers insane. When I was fourteen I got involved with a bad crowd that called themselves the Judas Brotherhood…it was kind like a gang. They gave me the family I needed but at a price. In my rebelliousness, I didn’t mind breaking the law so, naturally, I did. I stole, drank, jacked cars, sprayed on more graffiti then anyone, carried a gun, and smoked. It was the life… even after I was found guilty for the graffiti on the side of a school and went to jail for three months. I eventually quite going home at all, dealing with my brothers was just to much. Then when I was fifteen there was a…accident, and I went to jail the second time for a year. When I got out, I went home, my brothers were happy to take me back, and I quit smoking, somewhat quit drinking, and then we moved here…so I could start over.” Quiet tears slipped down her cheeks by the time she’d finished the story, Derek didn’t ask why, because her story didn’t seem all that sad, but her eyes told him, she’d left things out…Derek wrapped him arms around her, and Astrid silently cried. Derek rubbed her back hoping someday she’d tell him the whole story but for now those where her secrets…we all have them.

Part 3
Two weeks went by quickly, and by Friday, Derek and Astrid had become closer then close, but Derek wanted more. But as the weeks past he could tell Astrid wasn’t use to the demanding teachers, she looked exhausted, Derek was cool about it, he gave her back rubs and helped her relax, and at least he tried.
Friday night Derek left dinner early and walked over to Astrid’s house, she’d invited him over before but he had to work. Astrid said her brothers would be out all night and that she’d love his company. When he knocked on the door no one answered, so casually he turned the knob…surprisingly it was unlocked. He stepped across the threshold and into the front hall. He saw the living room to his left the T.V. was on. Derek stepped into the room.
Astrid was sprawled out on the couch, fast asleep. Her low rise jeans, torn at the knees, had slipped over her hip, and you could see the black lace top of her panties. Her shirt lay on the back of the couch. She wore a black tank top, the neck line pulled down so the top of her matching black lace bra was visible against her pale skin. Derek walked over to her and smiled, she looked so peaceful. Strands of her red hair lay across her face. Her chest heaved up and down slowly as she breathed. Derek sat on the couch, in an uncovered spot in front of her stomach.
“You’re so beautiful. Every time I see you I want to sweep you off your feet and kiss you forever. I want to hold you and never let you go. You’ve shown me what desperation really is. I crave to kiss you, but I can’t for I’m not worthy of such a treasure.” Derek whispered to Astrid’s sleeping form; unaware she had awakened and heard every word he said.
“And I crave the same.” Derek heard Astrid say, looking down he saw her eyes open and staring at him with a softness that made the silver pools gleam. She smiled up at him; her red lips looked so inviting. Slowly she sat up, and put an arm around his neck, pulling him closer to her. Her soft skin brushed his, giving him goose bumps again.
As Astrid’s lips brushed gently against Derek’s, her tongue brushing insistently. Derek relented without much of a fight. Astrids mouth was warm and welcoming. Derek delighted in the feel of her tongue and the way she ran her hands lightly up his chest, and unbuttoning his shirt. Derek decided that Astrids kiss was more than passionate, it was insistent, that no matter what happened, Astrid had wanted, had demanded this kiss. She had needed to feel Derek's mouth against hers, feel the tongue that was currently tip-to-tip with her own. Eventually the kiss broke and Astrid breathed heavily against Derek's cheek, leaning against his body for support.
Derek heard Astrid sigh as her arms slid under his shirt and around his waist… she’d shown him her weaknesses and her strengths. Maybe she could still love without pain. Forget the past and move to the future. Because right now, at this moment in time, there was only them…
