Episode One

Everyone filed into school, on that warm October day. The preps in their expensive clothes, the punks with their piercing, and the geeks in their glasses… that’s where our story begins…

“Lacey, my girl, you got any smokes?” Begged a 5’5” male with black hair. Turning to a tall girl with black hair with streak of pink that fell over her eye, and a diamond nose stud. Lacey stopped walking and turned to the boy and gave him a look.
“You’re joking right, I have three left and I need them…sorry babe,” Lacey said her British accent stood out against the American school. Mitch stepped up next to her as they entered their World History classroom, still begging for a cigarette. Something in a lot of pink bumped into Lacey.
“Watch where you’re bloody going, Janie!” Lacey said with a growl.
“Shouldn’t you be in a dark corner somewhere?” Janie spat back pushing blond curls out of her eyes. Lacey rolled her eyes, and walked past Janie to her seat. Mitch looked Janie up and down then followed Lacey, and took his seat.
“It’s so obvious you like her.”
“I do not”
“What ev’…” Lacey turned to the front of the class just as Aiden took his seat next to her. He was decked out in his letter jacket, his brown hair was cut short and spiked…like all the football players. He glanced sideways at Lacey as she pulled back her shiny dark hair and let it fall down her back. Her black corset boots fit snug around her calves, and her green fishnets matched the plaid of her miniskirt.
“Who can tell me who Leonardo DeVinci was? Mr. Shutterholm?” Mr. Tepaul asked looking down the row at Mitch
Mitch looked up, “He painted the Mona Lisa”
“Yes, What else? Mrs. Jacqart?”
“Leonardo DeVinci was an architect, sculptor, painter, and inventor, from Italy.”
“Correct, anything else?” Only one hand went up, and Mitch and Lacey sneered
“Yes, Mr. Cuttington,”
Josh pushed up his glasses and began rambling. Aiden heard Lacey whisper something to Mitch, and apparently he wasn’t the only one listening. “Lacey do you have something to say to the class?”
“Yeah, I was just saying, what a bloody prat Josh was.”
“Let’s not name call, just because you use your British slang doesn’t make it right.”
“You mean bloody or prat?”
“Both” he said in an annoyed tone.
“Well you don’t have to be such bugger about it.”
“That’s it, you have a referral.” Lacey scowled and stood up; grabbing her messenger bag decked with a British flag, and turned to the front of the class. Aiden couldn’t help but smirk, as she stormed up to the front, her corset boots clunked against the tile, and the chains on her skirt clinking. She took the yellow referral slip, and left the room slamming the door so hard the glass broke. Mr. Tepaul sighed, and went back to his lesson.

In the office Lacey sat and talked to Hunter; he had sleek platinum blond hair, and his eyebrow pierced. Lacey always joked with him about his looks, saying he looked like Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter books.
“I broke another bloody window.” Lacey said angrily.
“Isn’t that like the third one this month.” Hunter said stealing glances at her long slim legs.
“Yep, Principal Skinhead said one more and I’d be suspended. Mum’s ganna kill me when she finds out.”
“Just don’t tell her, the school won’t…not unless you get expelled.”
“Hunt, do you think I plan on telling her? I’ll see you at band practice.” She said as the Principal called her name.

Lacey leaned on her purple Harley and Mitch’s red Suzuki, and waited for Mitch to get out of his class. Then Aiden walked by, his mustang was parked next to the bikes.
Lacey secretly admired his car. Aiden looked at her, she scowled back.
“Nice bike…is it yours?” He asked pulling out his car keys.
“Yeah…bought it last month, gave my old one to Mitch. But what’s it to you?” She replied pointing to the Suzuki then looking him over suspiciously.
“Nothing, I just think its cool, never ridden a motorcycle.”
“Then you’ve never experienced freedom.”
“Maybe I can catch a ride with you sometime.”
“Yeah, that’ll look great on your reputation; Football Star fraternizes with the British punk. It’ll look perfect in the yearbook.”
“Why are you always so negative?”
“None of your bloody business.”
“Ok whatever,”
He turned the key of his car and began pulling out of the spot. Lacey looked at him and tapped her nose ring with her finger. Jumping over her bike she walked over to the side of his car. Aiden stopped the car.
“Fine, Saturday, 2:00 at Burns Park…I know a good quiet road, I’ll give you a ride. But for the sake of both our reps, we speak of it to no one,” She said and pulled out a felt pen from her boot, and grabbed his hand, “Here’s my cell, I’m suspended, so if something comes up you’ll have to call me.”
“You’ve got a date.” Aiden said with his award winning smile. Lacey’s half smile disappeared.
“It’s NOT a date.” She said in an acidic tone. Aiden shrugged and pulled out of the parking spot and headed out of the parking lot. Lacey watched him stop for a few of his friends, then speed off. She sighed, what had she just done?
“Whatcha lookin at?” Mitch said from behind her. Lacey spun around her dark hair gleamed in the Las Angeles sunlight.
“Looking for you. Let’s go or we’ll be late for work.” She said and jumped on her bike, starting in up. The two sped away.

“Good afternoon, here’s your menu’s, our specials are on the back, and can I get anyone drinks.” Lacey said to the table of boys in letter jackets from Kennedy High’s rival…Jackson High.
“Yeah, baby, you can get me a drink of you.” One with blond hair replied.
“Sorry we only serve Pepsi products,” Lacey retorted rolling her eyes
“Pepsi’s all around then.”
“Ok I’ll be back to take your order.”
“Ok, we’ll be lookin’ forward to it, sugar.”
As Lacey turned and walked away, one of the boys smacked her in the ass. Lacey felt her anger fill her chest. But she just kept walking ‘you’re already suspended don’t lose your job too.’ She told herself calmly.

Mitch sat on his bike and waited for Lacey to finish her shift. He looked up at the Neon sign that flashed “Jimmy’s Bar-b-que” to the town. He got off his shift bussing tables at 9, Lacey got off her shift as a waitress at 9:30. Mitch’s thoughts were interrupted by a few hollers and Lacey’s British accent.
Mitch stepped out into the driving lane of the parking lot to see four hefty boys circled around an angry looking Lacey. Mitch took a step closer then stopped.
“Come on with us baby, we’ll all go out and have some fun.”
“I’m sorry, but I have plans.”
“Well you’ll just have to cancel.”
“Um…how ‘bout not.” Lacey pushed through the circle and headed towards her cycle and grabbed Mitch’s arm. The blond boy followed and grabbed Lacey’s arm. Lacey spun around and socked him in the nose. Then took a step away from him
“Don’t touch me… let’s blow this place Mitch.” Lacey said jumping on her bike and revving the accelerator. She pulled on her helmet, and headed off, with Mitch behind her. She flicked off the boys as she drove by.

“Man what is up with you?” Aiden’s bud Jake asked flopping down on the futon next to him.
“I have found my next girlfriend.” Aiden replied thinking of his upcoming ride with Lacey.
“Who…Janie, cause she’s been givin’ you the eye lately”
“Hell no, she to stuck up.”
“Then who?”
“Can’t tell you”
“Oh come on man.”
“Fine…Lacey Jacqart”
“The British punk rocker?”
“Yep.”
“She’s hot…but she’s so off limits. If you go with her your reputation will go down the drain. Besides everyone knows Hunter Young is after her.”
“Why? She parties better then anyone in our group. Besides they don’t have to like her. And Hunter’s just a punk show off”
“Her friends will kill you. And they won’t trust her…she’s like the biggest bad ass chick in the punk clich.” Jake’s cell rang; he pulled it out of his pants pocket and checked the screen before flipping it open. “Hey, what’s up? No way? Man, don’t go after her, it’ll only lead to trouble. Ok yeah bye.”
“Who was that?”
“Keith Nelson… the quarterback at Jackson. It seems that some tough girl just socked him in the nose.”
“Like you said all bad asses come with an army. I’ve got an idea, I’ll bet you a months worth of homework, that I can get three or more dates with Lacey before prom…and make her my prom date”
“Man you got yourself a deal.”
Aiden smiled, because tomorrow was his ticket to their first date.
