The Bittersweet Sacrifice of Love
A half Demon, driven by Lust and Hatred finds her final fate of Life and Death in the hands of a mere Human. What happens when the beings who hate each other the most, fall in Love? Or Lust?
Friday - 01:15 - Main street avenue - 14 years in the past
Her heart was racing, pumping blood and adrenalin through her veins. Her side began to sting, as her hand forcefully began to press against the aching spot while she pushed herself to run faster. She had, to run faster. But what was chasing her, was gaining closer. She had to hide. Her emerald green eyes scanned the area she was in, and saw a drive in care garage on her way. It was past midnight, no one was outside on this hour and every shop in this part of the city was closed. With her free hand she stroke a bang of deep chocolate brown hair behind her ear as she turned her head to look behind her, not finding any trace of her hunter. She turned her gaze back to the road up frond, quickly she dug her moving trembling hand inside her purse. Searching in desperate need for her mobile phone. She almost panicked more when she couldn’t find it, but her heart skipped a beat when she pulled it out of the purse. She quickly flipped up and called the only number she could think of for safety, 911. The dial tone went twice before someone picked up.
“Hello, emerg-“
“Main street avenue, I’m heading inside the garage! Pleas help me! Some crazy madman is after me! And I don’t know why! I’m scared.. Hello? Hello?!” The connection was cut off. She flipped it back and threw it back inside her purse. The young adult female knew the thing was still chasing her, she could feel its eyes upon her frightened form. She only hoped that the police knew were she was, and came in time before anything happened.
Finally she reached the entrance of the garage, and god blessed her soul, it was still open. She bend and quickly moved underneath the barrier, and ran inside as fast as her legs could still take her. Some lights in different area’s were broken, making some parts of the garage sinister and not worth trusting. She ran deeper and deeper inside the large hall filled with silent vehicles, not knowing that her follower had just stopped in frond of that same garage. The silent form stood still as it had a dark smirk plastered on its face, this was an evil person. The being was playing a cat and mouse game, and the mouse was driven inside the corner. This garage had only one way out, but the young lady obviously, didn’t know that. She had just written her own death sentence.
The woman knew she couldn’t run much further, she was exhausted and her side was burning unbearable. So when she ought to be far away from the entrance, she hide behind a car and fell down on her jean covered knees. Holding her side painfully as she breathed short sharp raspy breaths. Her head hang slightly down as her eyes were shut, what mess did she get herself into this time. She always had a neck for getting into trouble, but it was really serious this time. Feeling the pain slightly fade, she tried to control her breathing. Her eyes shot open as her hear shot to the side in a flash when her ears were set into progress.
Tip tap, tip tap, tip tap.
The echo’s of footsteps were reflected through the walls, betraying the one who had just entered. The young lady’s heart started to beat awfully close to her throat, almost forgetting to breath as she could hear the footsteps coming closer, and closer to were she was hiding. She began to shiver with fear as her eyes were wide but didn’t leave one exact spot on the ground, only focusing on her hearing.
“Come out come out wherever you are…” The being who was chasing her said with a tone of amusement. It was playing with her, and liking it too. The female snapped away from her stare to wildly look around her, she had to find another hiding spot! And as the only instinct of survival drove her to move, she crawled on her hands and knees on to the next car. Looking around the corner as slow as she could, to not make any mistakes. Though, her eyes widened when she could see a person reveal itself through the shadows. The lights above its head were about to give in, and flickered on and off like holding on to the last bits of energy it had left.
Long dark blonde hair, almost coming to the back of its kneecaps. Filthy, as if it wasn’t washed in weeks. Shoulders hanging forward, making the person look extremely dull. The fingers were longer than average as they hang lifelessly at its arms, dangling down like they were a burden to carry. The head, was slightly hang forwards, but the eyes were obviously clear, no matter how sinister this darkness could be. Icy pale blue irises, almost ghostly white, but blue enough to freeze you off guard, staring almost soulless ahead with also a pitch black ring around the outside of the iris, as inside the pupil. The woman couldn’t make more out of it of what was chasing her. One moment she was just walking over the street and the other, this person was standing behind her, almost ravaging her if she didn’t run quickly. She didn’t even know if it was male or female, she was caught in to much shock. She quickly moved back behind the car and tried to stay calm, that was hard, when an insane psychopath was chasing you in the middle of the night and you were sitting on the ground against a car in a dark garage. Then she slightly groaned.
‘With only one way out..’ she thought as she swallowed the lump in her throat and dared to look, just one more time. Her palms were sweaty, and she could hear a shiver in her own breathing. Oh so slowly, she gazed around the corner of the fiery red vehicle. The being came closer and closer to her hiding place. What should she do? Make a run for it? But before she could think any more, the person started to speak..
“Why do you hide? My little mouse? You know I will find you.. And when I do, I will make you bleed. Make you bleed like you’ve never leaked before. You know its only a matter of time, before I find you. Why not make it easy for the both of us? If you give yourself to me freely, I promise I won’t hurt you. Badly. ‘Cause I already know where you’re hiding, behind the red sports car?” The young lady gasped and quickly brought a hand up to her mouth, but it was too late. She looked at the person, and heard that the voice.. Was female. Then the calm intriguing voice was replaced with cold, maniacal laughter. Sending shivers up the lady’s spine. She laughed like her lungs would be caught between her airways if she didn’t and made the female even more frightened.
“Ready or not! Here I come!” And when she said that, the lights above the Insane female gave in, and so did the next one, and the next one, and next, next, next. All after another each row of light gave in with a loud echo, all until the entire garage was left in a pure state of blackness. There was no sound anymore, only the soft breezing of the wind that played tricks on your mind. Suddenly, the female realized how cold she actually was. She had to push her yaws together to prevent them from clattering together. She was so scared, she didn’t dare to move anymore. Only her eyes, moved swiftly from left, to right. Until a pair of eyelids raised up and revealed a pare of ghostlike orbs, only inches away from her face. Teeth as sharp they could tear flesh from bone, eyes that could eat your soul, hands that could break bone, and only her presence that could take make you hold your breath, and suffocate without even knowing it. She screamed. She screamed like she never screamed before, at the pitch of her lungs in fear, of death it self.
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
“This way! stay together!” A police squad of twelve heavily harmed men made their way inside the garage, only twenty minutes later.
“Split up on pairs of three. Keep your guard up and stay together! Gogogogogo!” The obvious leader of the squad called out with a single command and immediately four groups of three split up to thoroughly investigate the area. They were all armed and prepared for anything. They thought. One of the group’s men saw something, he alarmed his group to the spot he saw movement and they all stayed close to him in order to give backup, if needed. They slowly moved forward up the path and gazed around the corner of a red sports car, in distance of course. Their eyes all widened when they saw a pure massacre. The male who first saw the movements slowly grabbed his walky-talky, not taking his eyes of the scene.
“Uhm, Chief, we found something… You better come and take a look. Fast, over.” Only seconds later the rest of the squad came running with their guns aimed, they all formed a circle around the car and closed in on the scene. The leader took of his helmet and stared with disbelief. The body of a dead female was resting against the side of the red vehicle, her throat was slit horizontally from ear to ear. But that was nothing compared to her stomach, her once white blouse was torn open from her chest and her brown leather jacked was completely ripped to pieces. Her bra was also pulled apart, but not only her clothes were put attention to. Her entire abdomen was exposed and ripped apart, and some guts were lying on the dirty blooded floor. A few ribs were sticking out and all over her skin were cuts and scratching marks. The expression of the victim was even more intriguing, her eyes were wide open and almost seemed, soulless.
Even more particular was that, the one responsible for this horror, was just sitting there on the floor. Just a normal girl, of about 16 years old with dark blonde hair reaching to her shoulders and sky blue eyes. She was wearing a sloppy ripped white t-shirt and some normal pants with overused shoes. Though, her clothes were completely covered in blood, and so was her mouth. The blonde girl slowly licked her lips as she looked at the leader with dozed eyes. Her hand was placed upon a little knife on the ground, which the man assumed she used to cut the victim open with. The man didn’t doubt for a second and forced her on the ground, cuffing her. Frankly, she did not struggle.
Friday - 01:15 – Prison - 14 years forward (current time)
Change of POV
Smelly cells. Rotten food. Incompetent swine’s. I think low of this pesky plague called the human race. They live only to reproduce and keep themselves from extinction. Yet, some can be of good use to us. To my kind that is. Yes, my kind. You humans are so foolish and ignorant, living your own boring lives day in day out. Its pathetic. You are so set on your own believes that you can’t see the truth even if it were to stab you in the chest.
That you are just cattle and nothing more.
Your teeth are blunt and your bones are fragile. Your acceleration is slow and your muscles are weak. You don’t have any powers what so ever and strength fails you as age turns you grey… We are the vampires of night and day, the wolves of the sun and moon, we are the offspring’s from hell it self and children from the underworld. We have lived thousands of years and even before your time came close. Paintings have given us many faces, and books many names. Devils, Guels, monsters, mystical creatures and even referred us to the creations of Satan. But the most common is also how we identify ourselves, Demons. And we are exactly the opposite of you humans.
We live, breath and walk amongst you. Camouflaged, as evolution made us adapt. In presence of your breed, we look like you. But that us only a mask to shield from whom we really are. But even the perfect, can have flaws. Even us Demons. At our 18th lifespan, and our lifespan goes way slower than your average human age, we must have fulfilled our completion.
Let me explain, some of us Demons are born is incomplete blood. Meaning, we need to find our soul connected partner and drink at least one drop of blood from them, in order to become a full blood. If we don’t, we die.
Here’s the catch, the blood of our soul mate must be given to us entirely free and with good intention of heart for our sake. You can’t just take it, it must be given, or else it does not work. And, we die.
How do we halfblooded Demons find our partner? Most of the time we are not able to, because how big are the odds of finding one person in a world filled with millions? So most give up before they even try, we die.
But if we do, how do we know it when we find that person? Simple, the Demon will know it. How? Two words, sexual arousal. And if you’re wondering who I am, and how I know do much about half blooded Demons?
My name is Liedaya Vour And I am a female Demon. No, better, a half blooded demon. And I am reaching my 18th lifespan as we speak. Its like waiting for certain death to come and get you, and even for us Demons, that is an unpleasant feeling when considered. But of course, only death awaits my path.
14 years ago, I was caught after I brutally slaughtered some woman. No, not just some woman, she was the tastiest kill I ever made. Not bothering to flee, some men found me after my feast, the woman had probably informed the ones you call ‘police or FBI’ when I was off guard. And so they arrested me and took me to jail. Of course, there was enough critical evidence against me. I had her blood all over me and more.. And I quickly lost my case in the courtroom. I was sentenced for a lifetime captivity inside the highly secured prison placed in this nation. That was not something I was bothered about, if I want to, I could just walk out of this place right now. When ten bombs won’t be enough to slow down even one Demon, four concrete walls will?
It doesn’t matter, our leader has fallen silent upon us. Letting us live freely, it was 14 years ago that I last heard anything from my kind. 14 years can be very long and lonely inside an isolated cell, without any visitors or calls, whatsoever. The problem was, I did not really have the motivation to leave this peaceful cell. That outside human world was such a bother, I have always preferred silence anyway. But now that the realisation has come to my eyes about my half blooded time limit, there isn’t much left for me to do.
Also, the courtroom has taken my case in reconsideration, and came to the conclusion of ending my lonely days behind bars. Yeah. The new sentence, death penalty by execution first thing next morning.
Here I laid, on my current bed that has been for 14 years, rough old grey sheets, a bulgy mattress and a pillow not any thicker than the sheets it self. This room had the size of two by two metres and only contained a not so private toilet, a small square table with a wooden chair, and this bed. The small room only had one window close to the ceiling and was of about thirty to thirty centimetres. The walls were painted white, the shards of old paint almost falling off the wall in sheer misery. And lets not forget the solid metal door with two hatches, one larger one in the middle and one smaller as the top. The larger one was to shove a tray of food in throughout the week and the smaller one was to look through, if I was ‘behaving’ myself.
The only time I was allowed to get out of my cell, were on Saturday and Sunday around 6. That was my time to eat all together in a large hall with some amount of the other prisoners. I’d like to call it ‘socialization time’. Also on Wednesday days around 5 were we allowed out, the females that is. ‘Shower day’. You can only imagine how that is like. But I suppose that you’re doing quite a good job at visualizing?
And the of course there is me, like I said just laying on my bed, staring at the same ceiling I have been staring at for the past 20 years. I was wearing some grey clothes, just a dull grey pair of pants, and a ripped grey sweater. My dark blonde hair wasn’t brushed in days and came to somewhere midway to my shoulders. My skin tone was paler than normal people’s skin would be and my eyes were sky to icy blue. Also, the tips of my ear were slightly pointier than normal human ears would be, but nothing with noticing. Also my fingers were slightly longer than your kind’s average. Of course, I haven’t shown my Demon side in years, and human food isn’t something we Demons live of. Resulting in me becoming very skinny, to the edge of my rib bones sucking on the insides of my skin.
I sighed slightly in boredom, the first sign of life I had shown in some hours now. But then, the upper hatch of my solid door opened and revealed the face of my guard who had led me through this prison for years. Henry. A human, with to much skin tied to his chubby body. A double neck and a moustache, actually fitting his work outfit.
“Well Daya, today is the day. Feeling nervous?” He asked as he grabbed a bunch of keys and put one inside the lock of my door and opened after he grabbed the cuffs I should wear when I left my cell. After slowly moving to a stand off of my bed I normally walked towards him and extended my wrists. He clicked the silver cold metal cuffs around them and moved to my legs to do the same there. Standard procedure.
“Not really.” I said not really caring for the matter I was about to be executed. Henry gave me a thoughtful look as we walked out of my cell, he locked it as we left. We walked down the hall passing several other cells, the ones who would spend the rest of there lives here or would end up like me.
“That’s just like you, staying silent to the last moments of your life. Shame really, but of course, ever ending up here was too.” I said nothing as the man spoke. We had all kinds of ‘conversations’ throughout the years, but none really mattered. I shrugged. We stepped inside an elevator, for I could not walk stairs with the cuffs around my ankles. We went up two floors as we stepped out again. The fifth floor, I’ve never been to the fifth floor. We walked through a long hall and turned right. At the end of that Hall was a large metal double door with the number: 02 on it.
“Because of your crime, the family members of the victim are allowed to view your death. No argument or signature can prevent this from seizing. Now you will step inside the room and await your punishment. I stared at the man, did he really expect me to have an argument or an signature? Oh, the stupidity. I just nodded and he unlocked the door, yes almost every door had a lock. When he opened it, he revealed a large square room. The walls were made out of grim concrete blocks and had bloodstains everywhere, they were probably unable to get it off with little effort and therefore let it be. Henry pulled on my cuffs, inside the large heavy scented room. Standing in the middle as I heard to door shut behind us. Only minutes later after enjoyable silence, I heard it re-open..
Different POV
I walked inside, to see the execution of the person who killed my mother when I was just 3 years old. My name is Emerald, Emerald Chase. I’ve lived with my father and at times with my aunt. Nothing special, a 17 year old college student who’s mother got slaughtered when she was a kid.
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to burn the image of the girl from my mind. But she was there. She was right in front of me, she was real. I felt like screaming, yet nothing came out. I could almost feel my mother’s image being pictured within my memories. It was almost like she stood right there, next to me.
“It’s all her fault.” I heard her hiss, it was so real. Or did my mind deceive me? Her image vanished on the spot, and I quickly turn towards my father only to see that he hadn’t even moved once. ‘My own thoughts are haunting me…’
“Something wrong?” A forlorn voice questioned. I look up to see blue eyes, blue eyes that looked like they belonged to a person whom had already died. I faked a small smile at my father. “No, it’s nothing.” I shut down on the inside again. And I scornfully looked away, towards the mysterious girl as I got offered a chair. Why was she being so amenable?
Normal POV
The filthy blonde haired young woman stared after the brunette which had just stepped inside her gaze. She could feel her heart speed up, her fingertips tingling as her palms became sweaty. Her breathing slowly became heavy and her forehead slightly became damp. The prisoner felt something she never felt before, she needed this girl. She wanted this girl.
Without herself knowing it she had moved one leg forward as she wanted to take a step, but felt the metal cuffs firmly around her red bruised ankles stopping her from making any fast movements. Her dull eyes never leaving those emerald green eyes she could see in the distance. Never had she seen a human this intriguing, nor this beautiful.
“Snap out of it Liedaya, or we’ll be forced to restrain you.” Henry said, with four other guards backing him up. She flashed her head, as if thunder struck she looked at him with big eyes like she already died.
Henry felt uneasy, and that left him with no other choice. He ordered the four men to chain Liedaya up against the wall with thick leather straps, which would burn your skin if you pulled too harshly. But no matter how hard the four grown adults pushed and pulled. Liedaya, did not move. Like she was a concrete wall, she stayed in her place.
“Liedaya cooperate! You have no other choice! Its over for you!” The man spoke alarmed as the girl gave him a sideways look with a grin as her expression turned sinister.
“You want to kill me? Old man? I’ll give you a chance, but just one shot.” Finally the blonde moved, but her expression wasn’t the same as before. Madness, shimmering inside sky blue eyes. Like a frozen raindrop upon a green piece of grass. She moved towards the wall on her own, and let the man strap her tightly. Taking off the cuffs around her wrists and ankles. All the time, a sinister smirk was curved on her dry lips. Her gloomy eyes slightly moved back to where the girl stood, trying to make eye contact once more.
Meanwhile another man stepped inside the room, wearing a black uniform and black sunglasses. He held a black metal briefcase and opened it on the ground. Taking a long distance gun with loop for precision, and another loop on the frond to deaden the sound. The blonde grinned wickedly at the sight of the human equipment which was supposed to ‘kill’ her. Licking her lips as the boiling tension inside her increased, the longing to release her inner Demon almost painfully to restrain. The man raised his weapon and brought it to his eye, the loop aiming precisely for the head, between the eyes. The trigger was taken of its safety as the shooter swallowed a time. Tension filled the air as Liedaya’s eyes moved from the beauty, to the shooter. She closed her eyelids over her tired blue orbs.
Bang!
With the speed of light, deceiving time itself, the blonde opened her eyes. Revealing a pair of ghostly blue eyes with a pitch black rim around the iris. She saw the bullet near her head, as she easily ripped the leather straps. Bringing her arms together and pushing her hands against each other, keeping the bullet between her palms and bringing it to a stop.
Emerald orbs with shrunken pupils stared at the scene, and how this girl was staring so evilly at her, almost deadly. Resolution hardened her veins. She shook her head in defiance. “This is not happening.” She told herself in vain, wanting so badly to close her eyes and block everything out… But that was just not how it worked. She felt pressure upon her right arm. Her father was probably trying to get her back to her senses and drag her away.
But no matter how hard Emerald tried to escape, no matter how much she mentally screamed to herself, she could not move.
She pulled the hands from each other, letting a crushed bullet tingle to the ground. Silence. Her smirk returned once again.
“Just one shot.” She said breaking the silence. She spread her arms as her finger started to change out of nowhere. They became even longer, her once broken, ripped and filthy nails were replaces with razor sharp knives. Some teeth grew longer and sharper like sharpened needles and her hair started to grow longer before your very eyes. She let out an animal like growl and pushed herself off of the ground. Speeding forwards towards the shooter and throwing both of her arms forward cutting the man in half. Blood seeping onto the floor like water from a fountain. The gore smell filling the air even more as the remaining man ran in terror for their lives.
Still, there was no movement from the brunette sitting on the chair. Her vision had blurred slightly, no matter what part of herself she had to forfeit, she had to stay, as everyone around her made way towards the exit. A psychotic voice in her head laughing at their running instinct. She, did not possess one.
Not wasting much time with the delicious kill since years, the murderer ran on to the next, cutting off his head. Throwing the head towards the window where you stood behind for own self protection if anything went wrong and the glass broke, giving in to the immense force pieces flew across the room. Liedaya quickly ran on to the next male, pushing her hand through his belly, pulling out his guts and throwing it away. Meanwhile the half transformed Demon started to laugh manically.
Green orbs gazed as shards fell down on the ground. Every now and then she could see her reflection in a falling piece, but even so the piece would twist in the air and she could see the demon through it. Now, she stood up and realized that she had to get away.
Henry had slipped over a puddle of blood and fell to the floor, not able to stand up and run as he had sprained his ankle. Looking around in horror.
“Please Liedaya, have mercy! Please don’t kill me! I have a family! A daughter and a wife!” He pleaded like the filthy human he was, begging for his life to be spared. He wasn’t even worth it.
“I’ll send my regards.” She said licking her lips from the fresh blood she sucked off her nails and rammed my nails through his chest. Hearing him scream as it faded away, the blonde maniac turned around in a flash all her attention set on one, person…
Ghostly blue eyes were now locked with emerald green ones. Lips curled up into a smirk as the demonic girl started to walk towards the smashed glass. She didn’t even wince as she placed both her hands on the broken pieces. Then pressed her hand down against the incision to encourage drops of blood to spill onto the cold concrete stones below her. Swiftly the demon jumped over the glass, when she landed the brunette could feel the little impact she made, reverberating through the floor reaching her own feet. Her body was entirely frozen, and she was unable to pull her eyes away from the female before her, whom was coming closer and closer…
“Tell me your name.” Her voice was solemn, stern, yet sinister in a way of dominance. A potent rush of panicked relief flooded Emerald’s veins at the sound of her voice. She did not answer, her throat felt sore and dry. Now before her stood the demon. Her intoxicating eyes fixed on the brunette as blood dripped down from her chin.
The demon’s urge to touch her was incessantly, she raised her hand to touch Emerald’s cheek. Liedaya could’ve sworn she saw her skin turn paler once she touched her cold velvet textured skin caressingly. Leaving a small smudge of blood as she pulled away.
“Well? You’re the only one foolish enough not to run like the humans you are… I want to know your name.” She repeated her former questioned more playfully, Emerald cursed herself mentally for having brought this upon herself. But did it feel all that bad? There, was doubt.
The sudden tangy smell of blood entered her nose, and she took a few steps backwards to escape from it. The filthy blonde smiled pleasantly. “You’re making it very easy for me you know that?” The sarcasm was dripping from her lips.
Emerald’s back was placed against the wall as the female demon pushed her frigid body against hers, the pressure making sure there was no escape for the brunette. Her hands being raised up to her head as Liedaya held them firmly within her grasp, Emerald could feel the blood being pressed against her wrists and a pair of sharp nails being pushed against her skin almost hard enough to make her bleed. “Maybe it would help if I made you scream first.” The demon whispered in her ear, exerting pressure on the brunette’s wrists as her nails were being forced to break through flesh. Emerald winced and let out a soft cry.
A grin appeared on Liedaya’s face at the small cry, “sounds like you have a cute voice.”
The demon tactlessly pulled her nails out again, bringing her index finger to her mouth to lick the blood off her fingers. She purred, wanting more. Finally, Emerald opened her mouth to speak, as if broken from a spell. “Emerald.”
“Hm?” Blue eyes once again locked on green ones. The brunette swallowed, warily trying to keep her balance. “You asked for my name, it’s Emerald.” She repeated, to the amusement of the cold blooded killer.
“And yours?” It took her every ounce of her willpower to ask that, simply because she didn’t want to speak to this creature, when you considered how easily she had just killed those men. “Liedaya.” The demonic female answered as her lips curled into a smirk once more, baring the sharp fangs to the girl.
Emerald gradually felt more at ease, even though the fangs did stun her at desame time. “Do I scare you?” The demon asked playfully as the brunette girl was still captured by her. She made a mental snort as she answered. “No.”

“This way! stay together!” A police squad of twelve heavily harmed men made their way inside the garage, only twenty minutes later.
“No.”
