My first attempt
Ghost story
Every night brought new torture to his already tortured mind, the memories never giving him a moment’s peace.
His anguished cries rent the air yet again as it became too much to remember love gained; love lost all too soon.
Then a day nearly a century past and he saw a picture of someone so alike the lost… He conjured a plan to lure this shadow of the past to his house, the house where tragedy had once played out its gruesome scene and now it all could be re-enacted.

Lucas had never been fond of ghost stories, always finding them too exaggerated and false to be frightening. Yet he had responded to the dare: spend a night in Crowell House and steal the emerald ring from its master’s coffin or suffer the consequences.
Sarah had known exactly what would rile him up and what would make him agree to the bet. Stupid really, how he could’ve let himself be manipulated by her.
He had no choice though: he had to prove his worth to his girlfriend!
