The World Cries Out
*Sigh* I'm sorry guys I really tried to stick to one story this time. Really I did. But I just can't fight these new story ideas that pop into my head. There's no point in even trying to fight them anymore. But, on the bright side I rather like this idea. I'm already in love with the characters you'll meet in this prologue and more and more ideas for this story come to me like a flood. So there may be hope. So please read and tell me what you think.

Prologue
“Master, I have retrieved the items you asked for,” the young servant said as he set down a bundle of scrolls on the long table.
“Thank you very much. That’ll be all,” the man sitting at the head of the table told him. The servant bowed and turned to go. “On second thought, hold on.” The boy stopped and looked at his master.
“Sir?” he asked questioningly. His master held out his hand and beckoned the boy forward.
“Come closer,” he ordered. The servant hesitated before obeying. He wondered what his master could want.
“Y-Yes, Master?” he stuttered and stopped a few feet away from where his master sat. A cold chill ran up his spine as his master looked at him with his silver eyes.
“Tell me, boy, what did you think of the Room of Destiny?” he questioned casually.
“You mean the room you wanted me to get the scrolls from?” the servant asked uncertainly. His heart started to hammer and a sinking feeling formed in his gut at the question. He wasn’t sure why though. The man nodded and gave the boy a soft smile.
“Yes, what did you think of it?” he asked again. With that smile the boys’ body suddenly relaxed and all the anxiety he felt disappeared. In this odd state of euphoria he smiled back.
“It was very lovely, Master,” he replied in a dreamy voice. The man chuckled and the boy felt even more relaxed. His shoulders slumped and his eyes became half-lidded.
“Lovely you say? Was it lovelier than I am?” the man asked and his voice seemed to purr. The servant tilted his head to the side as he studied his master.
He had long, beautiful black hair that seemed to flow like water. His eyes were a piercing silver that could strike a person’s very heart and his skin was as pale as moonlight. His ears were long and pointed and two sleek black antlers came up out of his silken locks. He was garbed in fine black and purple robes that hung loosely on his magnificent form.
When the boy was done examining him he smiled and shook his head.
“No, Master. Nothing in all the worlds could be lovelier than you,” he told him. His master laughed good naturedly at the response.
“You flatter me, boy. If I remember anything of you for your services, it’ll be for that,” he said then closed his eyes and turned his head away. The servant blinked as the soothing haze lifted from him. He shook his head to clear it more.
“Wha…?” he couldn’t make sense of what had come over him, but he furrowed his eyebrows at what his master had said. “What do you mean you’ll remember-” he stopped when he suddenly felt a presence behind him. He quickly turned and his eyes widened when he saw a flash of metal.
A spray of blood flew through the air and a thump was heard as the servants head fell to the ground. The man at the table opened his eyes and watched as the boys’ headless body hit the floor next.
“Tsk tsk, I lose more servants that way,” he said without a hint of remorse in his voice. He noticed that some of the flying red droplets had splashed onto his cheek from the swift execution. A long tongue protruded from his mouth and leisurely licked them off. When he was done he looked past the body to the man standing behind it.
“Thank you kindly, Elgin,” he said sweetly and smiled at the man. He was a tall, proud looking man. A golden mask covered the top part of his face that was framed by wild, blood red hair. He was dressed in snug fitting black clothes and a red cloak draped over his shoulders. Peeking out from behind him was a long tail covered in red fur that swayed back and forth.
Elgin smiled back and lifted his sword and licked the warm blood from the blade.
“No problem, Lyserius. It’s been far too long since you’ve let me kill something,” he said as he sheathed his weapon. He stepped over the dead servant and walked over to the other man. He then kneeled on one knee and bowed his head. “But I suppose I can hold off my bloodlust for you, my breathtaking Lyserius,” he told him then took Lyserius’ hand and kissed the back of it. The beautiful man smiled and tilted Elgin’s head up with his other hand.
“I know it has been hard for you, but soon you’ll have your bloody satisfaction and then some,” he promised and bent down slightly to press his lips against Elgin’s. The red haired man made a noise of contentment. He lifted the hand that wasn’t holding Lyserius’ and weaved his fingers through the glossy black tresses.
“Ahem, sorry to interrupt, but we do have things to attend to,” a voice said from the right side of the table. The two pulled apart and Elgin looked at the owner of the voice and snarled at him, baring his fangs.
“Why don’t you just fuck off, Napier,” he growled. Lyserius chuckled and ran his fingers through Elgin’s hair.
“Now, now, Elgin, calm yourself. Napier is right, there is a reason we’re here,” he told him. Elgin looked from Napier to Lyserius. He then turned his head away as he stood up; biting back a few choice words that were on his tongue.
When Lyserius was sure Elgin wasn’t going to do anything he turned to the other man.
“We’re sorry to hold up your research, Napier,” he apologized. Napier waved his hand in dismissal.
“It is fine as long as it gets done, Lyserius. I just don’t want you two getting too much into your games before it is,” he said with a slight smile and gave a small bow in respect. His long white hair fell over his shoulders as he did. Elgin growled again at Napier’s words and actions.
“Sure, that’s the only reason you interrupted us you jealous bastard,” he muttered with clenched teeth. Lyserius chuckled as he stood up gracefully.
“Hush, Elgin, we’ll get to play soon enough,” he told him and reached up to caress the back of one of Elgin’s pointed ears. The man shuddered pleasantly and leaned into Lyserius’ hand.
Napier shook his head and rolled his eyes, not believing how easily the fierce warrior could turn into a pile of goo. He was just about to interrupt again when Lyserius pulled his hand away.
“Now, Napier, shall we get started?” he asked as he walked around the table towards him. A tight frown formed on Elgin’s face as Lyserius turned his attention to the other man. He walked down the length of the table to stand across from them, making sure Napier didn’t try anything. The white haired man nodded and pulled the old scrolls towards him.
“I must say that that stunt with the servant was rather risky,” Napier said to Lyserius and picked up one of the items. “You could have gotten blood all over these precious scrolls!” he scolded, his crystal blue eyes clouding at the horrendous thought. Lyserius smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Do not worry; I wouldn’t have let that happen. I knew exactly where he would have to stand for he scrolls to be safe,” he said reassuringly.
“Not to forget that I knew where to strike,” Elgin added. Napier looked over at him in disbelief.
“Oh please. I hardly believe that one as dull witted as yourself could calculate exactly where to strike in order to get the least amount of blood spatter. Let alone how to control where it flies and lands,” he scoffed. Elgin snarled viciously and his tail bristled and lashed.
“Say that again you smug bastard!” He yelled and slammed his hands on the table. Napier shook his head at the barbaric response.
“If you didn’t get it the first time why should I repeat myself?” he asked with a smirk. Elgin looked like he was about to leap over the table at Napier, but Lyserius held up his hand to stop him.
“That’s enough Elgin,” he told him and the man held himself back, but continued to glower. Napier chuckled quietly for his achievement in upsetting Elgin. Lyserius saw that and pinched Napier’s pointed ear.
“Ow!”
“That goes for you too. Shame on you for teasing Elgin so.” The man then chuckled. “Though I must admit that both of you are rather adorable when you bicker,” he said and leaned in close to place a kiss on a light blue marking on Napier’s left cheek. The smaller man flushed at the attention and a deep growl came from Elgin.
After Lyserius pulled away he looked over at the dead servant with a sigh.
“Now to go back to the subject that started your squabble,” he said. “Guess I should get it cleaned up. If that pool of blood gets any bigger rats are going to start swimming in it.” He brought his hands up and clapped them together loudly two times.
Immediately the gigantic doors to the room opened and two more servants walked in. This time it was two women.
“You called, Master?” they said in unison.
“Yes, I did. Could you two get rid of that thing for us?” he asked, motioning his hand towards the body. The two girls looked over and didn’t seem surprised at all at what they saw.
“Yes, Master,” they replied with a bow. They started to move over towards their task when Lyserius stopped them.
“On second thought, scratch that.” He turned to Elgin with a smile on his lips. “I’ll give it to you for doing such a good job,” he told him. The man grinned at the offer.
“As gracious as you are gorgeous.” Elgin then looked over at the body in thought. An evil smirk appeared as he had an idea. He turned to the girls who were still awaiting their orders. “Take both the body and head back to my chambers and leave them on my bed,” he ordered.
“As you wish, sir,” they said with another bow. They walked over to the body and one went to the head. She pulled out a big piece of cloth and spread it out on the ground. She carefully picked up the head and placed it on the fabric. Soon it was wrapped and secured. She held it in the crook of one arm as she stood up. She then walked back to the body where the other girl was waiting.
They both bent down and each grabbed a wrist. Using all of their strength they started pulling the headless servant out of the room. As it moved it created a trail of blood as the red substance continued to ooze out of the neck.
The whole time the girl’s faces were blank and they seemed unaffected by their task. As if getting rid of bodies was normal.
Once they were gone and the doors closed Elgin turned to Lyserius with a pleased smile.
“Thank you for your gift,” he said happily. The man returned the smile.
“Only the best for you, Elgin,” he said. Napier looked at Elgin with disgust.
“I shudder to think why you want that body in your room, let alone on your bed,” he said. Elgin smirked wickedly at him.
“I could tell you in graphic detail if you want,” he sneered. Napier made a face and held up his hand.
“No, thank you. If I feel like losing the contents of my stomach I’ll let you know,” he answered. Lyserius chuckled, amused by their antics. He then turned his attention to the next thing that had to be dealt with.
“Now to deal with that blood.” Lyserius turned toward the chair he had been sitting in and whistled. Suddenly a black cat jumped up onto the table. It mewed before yawning and stretching. On its back two feathered purple wings fluttered a few times before they folded neatly against it once more. Once it was done it sat up and looked at Lyserius.
“Good morning, Master. Is there a reason you’ve woken me from my slumber so early?” it asked and from its voice one could tell it was male.
“Good morning to you too, Castrose. I was just wondering if you were hungry,” Lyserius replied. The cat yawned again before starting to wash his face.
“Now that you mention it a meal does sound lovely,” he said with a purr.
“That’s good, you’re treat is right over there,” Lyserius told him, gesturing to the blood. Castrose looked over and meowed in delight.
“Wonderful! It’s been awhile since you’ve slain one of your underlings. I will most certainly enjoy this.” With that he jumped off the table and bounded over to the blood. Castrose crouched down and greedily lapped up the red nectar.
“Well, now that that is taken care of let’s move on,” Lyserius said and sat on the edge of the table. “So, Napier, I hope there’s a good reason why you wanted these dusty old prophesies taken out of the Room of Destiny,” the man said to Napier. He picked up one of the scrolls and twirled it around his fingers. “You know I can’t keep sending humans in there to retrieve them. No human gets to go in there and keep their life.”
Napier rolled his eyes and took the scroll from him.
“In case you forgot it was you who sent the boy in there. I offered to go in myself, but you insisted on sending him,” he shot back. Lyserius smiled and leaned back on his hands.
“That’s because it was more fun my way,” he said simply.
“Plus the servants were getting far too comfortable for their own good with the lack of deaths. This way they stay in line,” Elgin added.
“You don’t care about order, you just wanted to kill something,” Napier huffed and Elgin shrugged.
“And if I did?” Lyserius lay back on the table and waved his hand.
“Come now you two, you’ll have plenty of time to fight later. Back to your reason, Napier,” he said, getting the conversation back on track again. Napier nodded and set the scroll back down on the table.
“I told you that I had a vision in my dream last night. Most of it is foggy, but it directed me to one of these prophesies. What I do know though is that it has something to do with your plan to take over Earth. Something is going to try and stop you from achieving your goal,” he explained in a serious tone.
Lyserius had gone very still as he listened. He then sat up and slid off the table. He walked over to one of the very long windows, not saying a word. Both Elgin and Napier shivered at his eerie silence, not liking it one bit.
“Come on, Napier, you’ve got to be kidding. Those stupid humans can’t stop us. Not only do we outsmart them, but we overpower them by strength and numbers!” Elgin hissed, trying to get rid of the doubt of their victory.
“Don’t tell me what I already know! I’m only telling what I saw and felt last night!” Napier snapped. Elgin opened his mouth to make a remark, but stopped when he heard Lyserius humming. Both the men turned to him and were surprised. Lyserius was humming a cheery tune and swaying back and forth. The beautiful man was looking out the window and staring with hungry eyes at the blue planet known as Earth.
“Ly-Lyserius?” Elgin stuttered. Disturbed by the mans demeanor and wanted to snap him out of it.
“So something is going to try and stop me, hmm?” Lyserius asked wistfully. Napier nodded slowly.
“Yes, I believe so,” he answered. Lyserius chuckled and reached up his hand, curling his long fingers into a fist. As if he was grabbing the distant world.
“And I thought it was going to be easy, silly me,” he chided himself. “But in a way I’m relieved to hear this news.” Elgin and Napier looked at each other in confusion then back at Lyserius.
“Relieved? What do you mean?” Elgin asked.
“I want the humans to resist. I want them to throw everything they have at me. What fun is a slaughter if the prey doesn’t resist?” he asked, looking over his shoulder at the two men.
“Not much I suppose,” Napier replied softly and Elgin nodded in agreement.
Just then Castrose trotted over and leapt up onto Lyserius’ shoulder. He purred and rubbed himself against the man. Lyserius chuckled and pet him as he turned to look back out the window.
“Napier, I want you to look through every prophecy we have until you find the one that called out to you. As much fun as I want to have with this, nothing must get in my way,” he told him.
“Yes, sir,” Napier said in determination.
Lyserius looked back up at the blue planet and felt longing in every part of his body. It called to him, taunted him. He had to conquer it. He had to make it his.
“Nothing will stop me from getting what I want. Nothing.”
