Running. Escaping. That was all she could think about. She knew that she had to get away from her poseurs. She had no idea where she was going or where she was at. All she knew was that she could not go back. She could not be caught again. Certain death was all that awaited her if she was ever caught. Her if hung in the balance. Her people were being hunted and killed off. Her tribe long gone and her way of life lost. The kingdom declared her people the enemy and now hunted them. Many were killed while others were sold into slavery. There seemed to be no hope for any of them. The few that managed to escape where scattered across the land, hated and feared. There had been no warning of any kind. All had seemed peaceful until the soldiers came. Now her nation was lost and she tried to get away. She hoped she could get away, hating the fate that awaited her from the land she ran from.

The woods all around her made it hard for her to run fast enough. The branches seemed to reach out and grab for her. The path before her was unrecognizable. She had left the main trail in hope that she would not be followed. Her hope soon fell as the sounds of feet were closing in on her. She tripped and stumbled along the way, never loosing her balance. Tears streamed down her face as she began to remember what had brought her to the point of running. Her long dark hair was in a tangled mess. Her clothes were nothing but rags. She ran at the first available moment.

Her crystal blue eyes held a deep sadness and pain that no girl her age should have. Blood had poured out of her many wounds that she had received. Many of which were given to her when she was first captured. Pain laced through her, but she continued to run. She never slowed down or tried to stop. She was focused on getting as far away as she could. She heard her poseurs break off and head in different directions. She knew they were closer than she first thought. Her heartbeat quickened as she remembered the pain and suffering that awaited her. Her actions would not be easily forgotten or forgiven. Her eyes became blurry as a fresh wave of tears began. She had never cried before. Something she had thought she was incapable of doing, but she had been proven wrong. She heard the sound of footsteps approaching her from the front. Hope began to swell in her. Voices were heard as she picked up the pace. She was nearly exhausted when she burst through the woods and into a small clearing. Her joy fell as she was surrounded on all sides by the soldiers.

The soldiers began to close in on her and she panicked. She began to fight to get away from them but she grew too tired. The soldiers kept pressing in on her from all around. There was no room for her to escape again. The soldiers played out the timing just right until she fell to her knees. She was too tired to even lift her arms. All the running had taken its toll on her. Her breathing was fast and hard as she tried to keep supplying air to her lungs. She did not even notice when a soldier came up behind her. She felt a blow to the back of her head. The last thing she heard before falling unconscious was the soldiers cheering. The wind blew as the soldiers gathered their prey of three days and headed back to their lord and king.
