The start of It all

Disclamer: This story was originally written by one of my best friends. She then got into some inner issues with herself about the continuation of this story. Religion stuff. Yuck. Personally I really think she has issues...but I love her, what can I say? O_O Seriously...she's my friend though so i feel for her hurt. She allowed me to continue this story...seeing on how i was completely in love with it. Therefore I hope you guys will enjoy this story!! Anyways The first few chapters of School Rivals are going to be the way she had it with some major...MAJOR changes... Personally I totally changed Jacob character to my liking.... I just finished chapter one...Hope you guys enjoy it.... If any of you remember the story, It was never finished...and im excited about getting to choose my own ending,

Warnings: The only thing I can warn you about right now is basically the language. Its m/m story so if any of these things disturb you, The I suggest you dont read. Anywho, Other than that, I doubt there will be any lemon in this chapter. However I am fairly certain that there will be an NC-17 rating for some future chapters. Aside from that...please, please review.. *puppy eyes* :D

~CHAPTER ONE- THE START OF IT ALL~

Jacob Long woke up really early; he was supposed to go to the park and meet up with his friends, but his mom had gotten an attitude and decided to make him late. She told him that he would not leave the house unless he finished all of his chores. And by the time he was done, he only had enough time to make it to school on time.

He was wearing a Blue t-shirt that said "Enemy's Of The Human Race!" He liked it the moment he saw it because it made him look good. Blue of course, was his color--- the gangs color! Jacob was 5'6 with black hair. He was white complected and had green eyes. He was one of the most popular kids in school--- for starting trouble. Him and his gang were well known of. The football team was always trying to be on his good side; while the cheer leading team, well, they were always throwing themselves at him; most of the girls at his school were such huge whores. But he could see why the girls threw themselves at him with no shame; he was the leader of a gang--- he had power. Everyone was scared of him; and yet, everyone wanted to be with him; they wanted to be praised by him. Even most of teachers were afraid of him, and he pretty much let it stay that way.

The GGFF was the neighborhoods local gang; and he was the leader of it. He became the leader at the age of thirteen. He could very well say that he joined the gang because of some peer pressure, but all in all, it had been his own choice. He joined it because he had nothing better to do anyway. At least with the gang he could pretend that he had friends, friends that were ready to even die for him. And with the things he did, the things that the gang required him to do, he could shut out all unnatural feelings that he had had at that time, and focus on the things that he had to do. The gang became a huge part of his life, he invested alot of his time in it. Over time he realized that he didn't care about friends anymore; that only made him weak. He grew to despise such meaningless relationships; none of them held true feeling. Most of the relationships were held only because of convenience. He grew to want power instead; he wanted to be feared by his so called friends--- And one day he would be part of the real thing and not some stupid 'wanna be gang; that bullied other teens for money, that stole radios from parked cars to get a few bucks, that jumped the nearest person that looked like they had cash on them. No, one day he would be part of a real Organized Crime Organization... He would be someone feared and respected. He wanted to build a Drug Empire, he wanted money and the power that came along with it. He wanted something better for himself and his mother...

Before Jacob became in charge of the gang, Jeremy had been it. He was a guy that was very much like Jacob. Even though everyone was scared of him, they still longed to be praised by him, they longed to be friends with him. Such was the case with Jacob as well. He had wanted Jeremy to like him, and in the process, Jeremy became a very good friend; more like a brother actually. Suffice to say, he had become Jeremy's right hand in no time. Jacob, in all his life, could say that he only had 3 relationships that were actually worth something. His relationship with Jeremy, his friendship with Carlos, his x-best friend, and his relationship with his mother. He'd never cared for anyone else, and he wouldn't allow himself to get attached to anyone else ever again. Love brought too much confusion and pain--- and it was NOT, needed to survive. He only wanted to survive in this world, and that was it, he didn't want emotions. He already cared for his mother, and that was enough. He had loved Jeremy, and it had hurt him so much when he had lost him. Jeremy had been like a brother to him; he had looked up to him. He wanted to be in every way like Jeremy. Jeremy was smart, he knew how to manipulate a person to do exactly what he wanted, he knew how to make every situation work to his advantage--- and Jacob wanted to be like him.

No, he wanted to be better, he wanted to make Jeremy proud.

His relationship with Carlos was a different story though. Carlos hadn't done anything to hurt him, as a matter a fact, it had been Jacob to break the friendship. When he became part of the gang, he couldn't stand Carlos anymore. For a while he could bearly even tolerate to be in the presence of the boy. He had felt feelings for Carlos, feelings that he wasn't supposed to feel. Feelings that he didn't want to feel; and at that moment in his life, those feelings that he had felt for Carlos were feelings that were only meant to be felt towards a girl. Now however, he didn't have such stupid feelings, they were pointless--- not even for girls. He had forced himself to not like Carlos. Carlos didn't do anything he wanted to do, he didn't want what he wanted. More importantly, Carlos had tried to tell Jacob to leave the gang.

Carlos was not his friend anymore.

Everything had changed for Jacob two years ago. The GGFF was having arguments with some kids that would not give up their neighborhood. They were a small gang in the making, and they were still trying to make it in life. Jeremy took advantage of this, or at least he tried to take advantage. Jeremy had demanded that 10 percent of the stuff that went down was given to the GGFF. With that pact, the GGFF had also promised to offer support in any fights. The new gang bluntly refused the offer, they wanted to be on their own, and they wanted to keep all the money that they made; and because of that, all hell broke loose and Jeremy was killed in a drive by. He remembered the day that it happened, he remembered it like it was yesterday. It was one of those rare times he cried, and Jeremy had smiled at him and told him not to worry about him. He had told him that he would make it big in this world, he had told him that he could do anything he wanted to do, so long as he put his mind to it.

When Jeremy died, Jacob somehow became in charge instantly. He was the only person that new exactly how everything ran, how to control everyone. And everyone knew him almost as well as they new Jeremy. And so he was the official GGFF Leader.
Jacob arrived at the school, and parked at his usual parking spot. Two of his friends were waiting for him there. Both wearing a blue shirt, and both wearing their necklaces that marked them as part of GGFF.

"You didn't show up". A boy known as Greg said, he was 2 inches shorter than Jacob, and he was skinny. He was a Latino boy with brown eyes that looked like they were on fire.

"What happened?" The boy to his right said. His name was Caleb and he was an inch taller than Jacob, he had blond hair and was very pale. He had a 6 pack and a nice body. He was a very handsome boy, but you could see the anger in his eyes as well.

"My mom". Jacob said as he got out of his old black mustang, and closed the door. They started walking towards the back of the school together. Jacob looked completely un-phased by his friends moods. And the truth was that he was unphased because he didn't really care what his friends thought of him.

"Where are the others?" Jacob asked while keeping himself cool.

"They didn't come to the school, we were waiting for you. You didn't show up". Greg said with a hint of accusation in his voice.

"We'll do it tomorrow". He snapped, he was in no mood to be accused of anything, or for that matter argued with. He was still pissed off at his mom, she had actually made him clean. IN THE MORNING. That was NOT a good way to start off a day. He already had to come to school and spend his day with a bunch of ignorant stupid hot headed teenagers. And that alone was enough to get him in a bad mood.

"Everyone showed up, and the kid was practically shaking. You should have seen him, it was hilarious dude, I thought the kid was going to piss himself..... The boy had nuts though, he didn't look like he was going to back out". Greg stated, rather amused.

"Yeah, well, like I said, we'll do it tomorrow and I WILL get to see him. Besides, I'm sure he's still egar; he has that little favor he wants us to do. And if he wants it, then he'll have to fucking show up everyday for the rest of the year, if that's what I want". Jacob said, with a cold glare facing both his friends as they continued to walk. No one was phased by his mood though, everyone was used to the cold hearted Jacob. He hardly ever smiled, he hardly ever joked, he was always serious. He was always in control of everything, and he always knew how to get what he wanted. No one questioned him, and when they did question him...They would usually always end up convinced and end up agreeing with Jacob in whatever it might be that the subject was about. Everyone was used to him.

They arrived at the back of the school where they found the rest of the school's local gang. The school had a about 7 kids including Jacob, Caleb, and Greg that were members of the GGFF. The gang itself was not THAT large, but it had its fair amount of troubled teens; few kids from the school were actually in it though. And once you were in, you're in for life. The rules are you join, you stay. If you choose to get married, you have a choice to leave, but the price is the same as when you joined, one good fucked up beating. So far Jacob had not come across anyone who got married while he was in charge. He remembered that when Jeremy was in charge, some guy got married and left the gang. He ended up in the hospital though, but that was the price you had to pay to get out, it was the same price you had to pay to get in. However if you choose to stay while married, then you're screwed because if you ever change your mind; you can't leave... You're considered a traitor and, well, that's not good. Another way to get out of the gang was to move away, far away. The gang would not go searching for you half way around the world, it wasn't that powerful. And last but not least, was the choice that no one ever chose willingly.....Death. Death was the perfect escape.

"You didn't show up!". Another boy in a black t-shirt known as Joe called out to Jacob. You could tell that everyone there was mad. But that didn't really seem to bother Jacob alot, he wasn't really pressured by people. He did what he wanted, whenever the fuck he wanted, and if you were in his way, he would simply remove you.

The thing that had everyone piked up was that this new kid that had moved into the neighborhood had been doing quite a few jobs for the gang. Apparently after a few months, he asked if he could join. Jacob approved it and the ceremony was supposed to be this morning. It was simply beat the shit out of the boy, leave him, and he gets the GGFF necklace, and walla, he's a member. But Jacob has to be there so he could have the last lick. Not only that, but in all honesty Jacob wanted to beat the shit out of the boy. He hadn't really got into a fist fight lately and he had been looking forward to it this morning; but his mom had to kill it. He growled at the reminder. At the audacity that his mother had; if he didn't have feelings for her, he would have most certainly put her in her place.

"Fuck you asshole, I do what I want. We'll do it tomorrow." He stared at Joe hard, making the boy look away. And the subject was completely dismissed for the time being, because everyone knew that he DID in fact do what he wanted to do. Because of the simple fact that he could, so no one chose to fight with him, they simply accepted it. They hung out at the back of the school until the bell that told them they would be late soon rang. And they walked towards their classes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far the day was HORRIBLE for Erick Walters. He had just moved into this school, and he already didn't like it. He knew no one and nobody seemed to talk to him. Erick was 5'2 ft tall, and had brown eyes. He was pale with a few freckles on his forehead. He was wearing a black t-shirt that said "Keep staring, and you'll find out why!". He had brown hair, that hung over is shoulders, it was kinda frizzy and that gave the impression that he didn't comb it. He was mostly into goth stuff, he wore everything black. Erick had always dressed the way he wanted, He didn't have no 'one' color to ALWAYS wear, he thought that was stupid. But he did have his favorite that just happened to be black. And since that was so, most the time he found himself wearing black things. He had a puny body, but he made it up with his temper. Somehow, no matter how much he tried, he always managed to get into a fight. And most of the time he always lost. However you had to give him some credit, because of the simple fact that if he really tried, he could get away from someones grasp fairly easy. And then he took it upon himself, if he had no dignity at the moment, to run. But this only happened when it was really, really needed.
He walked into the lunch room, it wasn't much bigger from the one at his old school. But he knew no one here and he felt alienated, he had made no friends. So far everyone would just stare, and on the occasion when he had to ask for directions on how to get somewhere; people would either give a polite response, and answer the dam question. Or they would give him the 'fuck off' response--- also he couldn't ignore the one where they just simply pushed him out of the way and pretended like he didn't exist. Yeah, he had to admit that he preferred the polite response. Aside from these things, he had made no communication with the students.
Its not like he had had many friends at his old school, but at least he had them. He was the type of guy that liked to be quiet, but at the same time he like to be around people. He didn't like being alone, so long as the person he was with didn't expect him to talk. This year he was a freshman, and he knew that it would not make the matters easier on him. He really hoped that he didn't get into trouble here as he had in his previous school. He hoped that his dad went easier on him, now that they were away from everyone that made life a living hell.
He grabbed his plate of food and he found an empty seat, he ignored the fact that he was pushed once or twice while he was in line waiting for the food. Though he was a guy that didn't like to talk much, perhaps because of his insecure nature, he was still a hot tempered teen. And he put a great amount of effort into not yelling at the boys that had pushed him. He was suddenly thankful for the anger management classes that he had been forced to attend at his old school, gracefully paid for and provided by the government. Those classes had worked for SOMETHING...the things that they had thought him there didn't ALWAYS work, but in minor situations they did.
Erick sat quietly looking only at his food as he ate in silence. He took out his schedule as he finished his food; Algebra was next. He frowned and started thinking of his old school. He started thinking of how his dad had told him they were going to move. His dad told him they were moving one day out of his drunk stupidity and next thing he knew, one week later...Here he was in a lunch room filled with kids he had never known or seen in his life. He sighed. He hoped this was for the best though, perhaps things could change here...his relationship with his dad, perhaps it too could change.
" Hey idiot, who invited you to sit at our table?".... Erick was quite certain that the comment was towards him.
He looked up and saw 2 guys in a blue shirt and one in a black shirt. He stared at them, and he didn't know what to say. He was determined to stay out of fights here at this school, he had gone to plenty of anger management counselors and he HAD been getting better. He wasn't going to screw up, and his dad was not going to lock him up in a room again, with no food, with the excuse of " You have to learn how to stay out of trouble" for two weeks. As much as he wanted to punch all 3 of them right now, he counted to ten then stood up and started to walk away.
One of the boys in a blue shirt that said " Enemy's of the human race" grabbed him by his arm, and yanked him back.
" I believe he asked you a question". The boy said as he pushed Erick into the chair he had been in. The kids from the other tables started to whisper and stare at them. Erick could feel all eyes on him, and he couldn't stop the anger from stirring in his stomach. He was doubting that he would be able to stop a fight from happening. He could tell by the way that these guys were looking at him, and he could tell by the way that his anger was quickly taking control of him that indeed a fight was certainly going to happen, he could sense it.
" Listen, I'm new here, I'm sorry, I wont sit on YOUR table again. That's weird though, I didn't know the tables belonged to certain people here anyways...could you tell me where I could go buy one?" He felt the sarcasm escape his lips, and he regretted it the moment he said it. He wasn't about to back down though, so he just glared at the boy that had grabbed him and had pushed him onto the chair. He looked into the boys dark green eyes, he couldn't tell what the boy was thinking though...He couldn't see any emotion in his face. He wasn't scared though, no, he was angry, the guy had just grabbed him and pushed him into a chair--- Over something really stupid, It's not like he had sat at THEIR table on purpose. If this guy wanted a fight, then all he had to do was keep acting the way he had acted in the last five minutes, he just had to keep acting like a total fucked up jerk.
" Oh he has Jokes, I say we teach him a lesson, what do you say Jacob?" One of the boys said....Looking at the boy that had pushed him.
Jacob stared at he boy in front of him, he was a sad excuse for a human. He looked weak, and it looked like he was having enough of a hard time trying to carry his own weight with those scrawny legs of his. He looked like he was about to break any second now. " I say he's not worth my time". He turned and started to walk off. But Joe grabbed him and stopped him from walking away.
" I say he is, he needs to learn who is in charge here." He said, with clear excitement in his eyes.
" I thought it was the principle?" Erick said, he knew he wasn't helping the situation, but at least he wasn't throwing out punches yet. Or curse words for that matter.... and I mean, he had to do something to ease HIS anger TOO, and sarcasm was the perfect way to do it, at that moment anyway.
" Oh so you do have jokes huh flee bag?" Jacob said as he grabbed on to Erick's right ear and pulled down on it hard, making Erick's ear turn instantly red. He brought the boys head down, so that he could speak into his ear.
" Fuck. You" Jacob said. He hadn't even been in the boys presence for even 10 minutes and he was already getting irritated to the point where he wanted to fight.
Erick grabbed Jacobs wrist and twisted it fast, and stepped back. He stared at all three guys. Both were smiling except for Jacob which just stood there emotionless. Then suddenly Jacob punched Erick in the face hard. Erick returned the punch and with that all three members of the GGFF started to beat on him.
Erick didn't know what was happening anymore, the 3 guys that were just on him had gotten pulled away. Now they were fighting another 3 guys, wearing all black, and he couldn't help to be thankful but a little uneasy at the same time. The guys that were fighting off the first three guys, looked to be more his style. They looked goth, and he hoped that with these guys, he wouldn't have as much trouble. Erick stood up from the floor off of the spot where they had him, it was filled with blood now. His nose was bleeding but he didn't care, he was about to join in the fight again when someone grabbed his arm. It was a girl, with a piercing on her nose, and she looked like an imitation of Avril.
" They'll take care of it" She told him.
Suddenly there were teachers around them, and two male teachers pulled the boys apart. Taking them all away.
" You fucking idiot, you have it coming. Watch your back, or someone might break it! You just made yourself some new enemy's!" The boy in the black yelled at him as he was being pulled away.
He made a point to look at the one that had punched him first, and he found his own brown eyes meet dark green eyes, he felt a sharp shiver down his spine. Something in those eyes made him feel scared...which only made him angrier.
One of the Teachers stepped up to him and he looked up bringing his attention away from his latest enemy. The teacher was a tall Latino, you could tell that he kept in shape, he was rather buff. The teacher looked at Erick for a few moments and made him feel uneasy.
" What happened here? Whats your name young man?" he asked.
" You know how Jacob and his gang is Mr. Gonzalez, and you know how they get. They started messing with him cause he's new here. Carlos, Bobby and Troy were just trying to help him out. He was getting beat up nasty, and we felt bad." The girl that had held him back from joining the fight again said. The teacher nodded in his response, and looked at Erick for a moment. Studying him, and he couldn't help but feel nervous under his teachers gaze, he immediately looked down.
" Stay out of trouble kid, Lissa can you take him to the nurse? He should go see if the nurse wants him to go home." The teacher turned his attention to the girl Lissa. And she simply nodded and smiled as innocently as possible.
~~~~~~

The nurse gave Erick an Aspirin, and told him to rest for the remainder of lunch and the next period. She also told Lissa that she could stay until the end of lunch, then she would have to go to her class. Which made him feel good, because he needed to think about what had just happened.

" My name is Lissa Aguilar....I'm sorry you had to go through that." Lissa said as she sat on the couch that was opposite from the bed which Erick now lay in. He looked up at her for a moment, and studied her, she was a pretty girl.

" Who were those fucking idiots, and why the fuck did they start mess?" He heard himself growl. He wasn't supposed to sound angry...but in truth, he was. He was after all minding his own stuff when those guys came to mess with him. It really wasn't his fault. It was a simple mistake on his part and he had tried to walk away, he had tried to leave in peace but those guys were the ones that wanted the fight...he had had no choice but to give it to them.

"You said it yourself, they're idiots. You have to watch out for them though, they practically own this school. NO ONE steps up to them. NO. ONE........ ... Except for us, that is; and maybe the jocks. But other than us..........EVERYONE kneels before them. Everyone here is scared of them. You're lucky that Carlos felt the need to help you." She smirked and stared at him.
When Erick didn't say anything in return she frowned.

" Whats your name?"

" Erick"

" Well, I can tell you want to be alone right now, so I'll get out of your hair, I'll be leaving now". She found herself irritated, her friends had just saved his ass, and he wouldn't even talk to her....What a great way to show that you're grateful. She rolled her eyes.

" No, I'm sorry, its just I'm still thinking about what just happened. I just moved in to this school..I don't even know what fucking started the fight...one moment I was sitting down minding my own stuff, and then they came". He looked at her.

" Yeah they're bastards they feed on fights, and they like to have everyone scared. Don't worry you can hang out with us though, they wont do anything to you if they see you with Carlos." She smiled at him.

" Why did you guys help me?" He raised an eyebrow at her in curiosity. He honestly wanted to know...I mean its not everyday that you just decide to interfer in a random fight...With no intentions behind that..right?

" I don't know, we don't like seeing people get pushed around for no reason. And you were getting beat up rather harshly". She said as she smirked once again.

He snorted at that...He had given a few rather good licks himself. But he knew he had taken more damage than he had given....He sighed...His face was hurting and he knew that he would have a few good bruises to remind him of this incident later on.

" Besides you look like an outsider, and us outsiders have to stick together". She gave him a gentle smile. Which made him almost want to smile at her in return.

Erick grunted..... " Thanks. Really....thanks...though I would have liked to continue fighting those jerks. I really want to beat the shit out of them now".

" Well its going to be hard for you to get your hands on either one of them, my advice is stay out of their way. Don't fight them unless you have to, they are dangerous. If you value your body parts...I suggest you try your best to ignore them". She stated, with a look that said she was convinced and she knew what she was talking about.

" I'm not scared of them". He hissed back in returned. The thought of trying to go around someone because of fear....He knew he would have probably lost, no scratch that, he WOULD have lost had it not been for this Carlos guy, and his friends. Still he would rather fight than hurt his pride. He knew that he was scrwany...Skinny...Hopeless...But he was NO coward. He would only run unless he absolutely NEEDED to.

" Yeah, well we are. We'll only help you if you need it. But we WONT attack them first, the guy who punched you. His name is Jacob Long, he's the leader of the ggff. Its a local gang but its dangerous and the people in the gang like to hurt those that stand in their way. So my advice is stay away from them and don't provoke them anymore". She said in an irritated tone.

" Oh, and fuckhead, don't sit at their table anymore, EVERYONE knows that. Next time go to the back of the lunch room and sit at our table. That is, if you want, but just don't sit at theirs if you don't want to get a beating again". She smirked.
With that she got up and left. Erick started to think...How was he going to go through this for a whole year?!!?
