Prologue
I watched the slow movement of his chest as he breathed. His mouth was slightly open and he was softly snoring. Bringing my hand upward with hesitation I gently moved a wisp of hair that had fallen over his right eye, his breathing came short as he felt the movement.
“Please don’t be mad and please understand.” I whispered as I lent down to give him a soft kiss, a mere ghosting of the lips, and with that I was gone leaving the man who had showed me so much more in a few love packed months.
Leaving him. . .
Because I love him.

I remember that night, exactly one year ago, the night I left my love, my life, my soul, my passion, the night I left Gabriel. I’m constantly wondering if I had made the right choice.
