Miss Mary
He watched in awe as she walked in to the bar. Who was this young girl like women that had walked in? what was her story? He thought as he watched her brush long red hair out of her face. He was surrounded by strange pale people who walled themselves the coven of the moon. They were vampires or so they said.
Vampires, real life vampires. Who had herd of such a silly thing? Vampires weren\'t real. They never had been. Really pale people who worked at night was more like it. He sipped his beer and continued to watching the young women stalking her with his eyes She was something beautiful to stare at that was for sure.
She bent down and checked the laces on her boots that went all the way up to her lower thigh. She was dressed in all black just like all of the other \"Vampires\" in the place. There was something about her that made her different though. Something that made her stick out other then her red hair and her youth. Something that just made her that much more intriguing then the others.
She stretched her arms over her head making her shirt ride up so that he could see her place midriff. How smooth it looked he though. How he would love to run his hands over it.
All of the sudden the girl went stiff. She lowered her hands to her sides so that her shirt hide her stomach once more. She looked straight into his eyes.
He jumped. Was she really looking at him? How could she know that he was thinking about her or watching her? She glared at him for a moment and then went up to the bar.
\"What will it be sexy?\" the bar tender asked greeting her. An Asian man with, cosmetic fangs in his mouth.
She laughed, a small laugh then she spoke, \" Nothing just wanted to see how you were doing Cornelius or are you going by something else now?\" she asked a British accent clearly pronounced in every syllable.
\"You darling can call me Core,\" the bar tender said leaning over and giving her a quick kiss.
\"How is Angie doing? I haven\'t seen her in ages,\" the girl said with a hint of amusement in her voice.
“I don\'t know we split in 1906 I do believe. Haven’t seen her since,\" said Core.
\"Oh, that\'s such a shame I thought you would be forever for sure,\" the girl sighed.
The man sifted and then leaned in closer to her. He whispered something in her ear. She sighed and nodded her head.
\"Humans are something else aren\'t they?\" she asked glancing over at our man.
He stiffened again. How could she know that he had been watching her this whole time? He should go up and talk to her but, he wasn\'t sure how it would go.
\"If you want to talk ten come over here please,\" She said looking at our man, \" I must say that I find your staring quite irritating.\"
\"Oh, I..,\" Our man stammered surprised that she had addressed him at all, \" I ... uh..l.sorry,\" he said unsure of his words.
She ignored him and turned back to her friend Core. She spun a strand of long red hair around one of her fingers. She was so lovely to stare at.
\"Will you stop it?:\" she said.
\"I\'m sorry you’re just so pretty,\" he said without stammering this time.
\"Thank you,\" she said flashing a smile. He could see a hint of fake fangs in her mouth also what was up with everyone in this bar having fake fangs? He thought it made her all the more beautiful.
\"They aren\'t fake,\" she said smiling and still baring them,\" if you would like to talk please come over here,\" she said.
\"All right,\" he said and slowly got up and came to sit on the red bar stool next to her.
He looked at her for the first time up close. She was really much paler than he had thought she was. Her deep green eyes stared at him with wondering.
\"So, what is it that brings you to this bar?\" she asked her accent making every word sound like music to him.
\"Just looking for a place to have a drink and some conversation,\" he said watching her.
\"Oh, your in for on hell of a conversation,\" Core said picking up his shoulder towel and walking to the other side of the bar to serve a woman with purple hair.
\"May I ask you your name sir,\" She asked politely.
\"David Jackson,\" he said, \" And yours miss?\"
\"Mary,\" she answered quickly.
\"And how old are you miss Mary?\" David asked jokingly.
\"You don\'t ask a woman her age,\" Mary said.
“A woman? You’re barely a young lady,\" he said.
\"That you would think Mr. Jackson,\" she said taking a sip of her drink that he friend Core slid down the bar for her.
David laughed, Not a real laugh but a sarcastic one he knew there was something unjoking about the way she said it.
\"I like you Mr. Jackson,\" This time she laughed, \" there\'s just something about you.\"
\"I\'d say there’s something about you,\" David said.
\"That just might be,\" she laughed . It was a light tinkling sound. A sound David had never herd come from a human before. It sounded like rain hitting a crystal glass.
\"Call me David please,\" he said examining her with his eyes.
David stopped and just looked intently at her. What was it about her? Was it her eyes? Her hair? What it was he couldn\'t put is finger on it.
\"Would you like to come back to my hotel with me?\" David asked all of the sudden.
“I can\'t believe I just blurted that out,\" David thought to himself,\" I must really like her. It\'s just those eyes,\" he thought.
\"I would love to,\" she said standing up and walking towards the door.
David follwed awkwardly. How could he have said such a thing? He didn\'t know what the night would bring but it would definitely be interesting.
