Nayamashii Koneko

Disclaimer: This was a joint project between my fiance and myself. It just sprouted from a weird conversation a long time ago. I hope you enjoy this and please give me critques. I would love to hear from you!

“W-what the hell is going on?”
Eddie stuttered. He stared into the mirror in his bathroom. The beast staring
back at him was foreign to him. He could hardly believe it was true, but there
was no doubt about it. From the top of his ears, to the tip of his furry tail,
he was a Werewolf. “This is a dream,” Eddie said as he rubbed his fuzzy arms,
“This just can’t be happening”. Then he perked up a little, “Wait, why should I
look down on this?” He flexed his Lycanthrope enhanced muscles, “This could be
a blessing in disguise”. Mid-flex, it occurred to him, “I wonder how Myria
would react?”

Eddie stepped outside into the
night air. A soft breeze rustled his fur, he shook it off. ‘A nice night for a prowl’
he thought. Unfortunately, Eddie never really went to Myria’s house and had
forgotten the way there. He scratched his nose a little in thought. “Duh,” he
said, he leaned down to the ground and took a deep sniff. A wolf’s nose is much
more powerful than a person’s, and he was taken aback for a moment. He smelled
everything; there was a bird, the mailman, a couple of cats…Bingo! “Aha, there
she is,” Eddie, said in triumph. Last week, Myria had cut her finger on a thorn
bush outside the house and got some blood on the ground. He had the scent, and
with his newly chiseled physique, he set off for his mate.

Once outside Myria’s house, Eddie
paused to take a deep breath. ‘Oh yeah,’ he thought, ‘She’s definitely in
there’. He looked up to her dark window, it was a little
after 11 o’clock
and the moon shined brightly on him. Eddie jumped up to
her window and reached forward. ‘Wait, what am I
doing?’ he thought to himself, ‘what will she think of me. If she sees me like
this, she would freak out and never speak to me again’. His hand hesitated next
to the window. “Oh well,” he said, donning his trademark grin, “I’ve come this
far, I might as well.” He eagerly tapped on the window.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Mmmm….go
away….stupid moon” Myria mumbled under the huge comforter covering her lithe
form. It was a full moon out again and she was hiding there until the next
morning. You see…Myria isn’t your average teenage girl. She is more of a
Catgirl, but only when the moon is full or under extreme stress. It just
happens to be a full moon out tonight. When that happens
she goes from being human to being a lithe catgirl
with reddish tabby fur, bright green eyes, and of course her tabby striped tail
and ears.

As she lay there quietly, hoping by
watching the clock; time would tick by faster; she hears a tapping noise
outside her window. Sitting up and moving her legs over the side of her bed,
she listens again. *Tap tap tap*
Covering her mouth she crawls back in bed again. “What if it’s that creep from
across the street again?” She thinks. “I can’t anyone see me like this.”

As she keeps hearing the tapping,
she is getting ever more annoyed at why whoever it is, isn’t leaving her be to
suffer alone. “Fine!” she says aloud, “I’m coming!” She walks over to the
window without fear of people seeing her. As she steps into the moon light, she
looks outside and sees wolf eyes staring back into her green ones.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Eddie shook a little in his perched
position. “I’m sure she’s in here,” he muttered to himself. ‘I am sure I traced
her scent perfectly’ he thought, ‘Although, it is my first time’. He grinned to
himself. He looked back into the room trying to find his mate, his eyes
adjusted as best they could, but all he could make out was a strange creature
they lay on her bed. “What is that?” he said, pressing in closer against the
window. He tapped again, to see if it would move. It did, and it was coming
right for him.

Eddie took a step away from the
window. ‘Crap, what is that?’ he thought, as it reached the window. ‘Maybe I should
get out of here’ he turned to jump back to his home. “Wait,” he turned back
around, adopting a stoic, Keanu-Reeves-like pose. He flexed his wolven muscles
again, “this would be a great time to test you puppies out.” He grinned and
stared into the window as it opened. As the shutters flew open, her hair shined
against the moonlight just enough to halt his pounce.

“Myria?”
He said softly, “Is that you?”
