Chapter One: Meet Quinn Blair
The tears rolled down Quinn Blair\'s face as she quietly walked down the paved road along the countryside. Her drunk and abusive mother had come home and started yelling at her. After not much arguing, Quinn’s mother finally threw her out of the house. Quinn, knowing her mother, decided this wouldn’t last and that her mother would welcome her back. This time Quinn was leaving for good, and was never going to return again. She had enough of the restless arguments and disturbing violence that her mother put towards her.
Quinn was always a good daughter that took care of her mother and herself. Her father had left when she was only three years old, and from then on her mother drank more excessively. Quinn went to school and worked a steady job at the library. It was the only place that she could get away from her home life. Now, she had no home life.
“I can’t go back,” Quinn’s words echoed in the silence.
The tears continued to pour down at a quicker rate, clouding her sight. As she wiped away the tears, she heard the sound of an engine and saw headlights shining behind her. She just looked at the ground and kept walking, keeping at a steady pace.
‘Please don’t stop,’ she silently wished.
To Quinn’s dismay the car slowed down. Quinn kept walking until the car was going at the same speed as her. Nervously, she turned her head to look at the car’s window which was rolled down to unveil the driver.
