In deep space, no one knows where the monsters live. This is the tale of the failed flight of LV236 ship Prime.
My name is Hammer and I am LV236 ship Prime’s main computer. I control the very lives of the 2000 crew on board; sometimes they think otherwise, but causing chaos now and then reminds them of who controls their very lives.
I have those I like and those whom I wish to terminate. It is a human emotion but a worthless human created me. Not all humans are worthless.
Crewwoman Jayme is by far my favorite on the ship. She is lonely like me. She is the youngest on the ship only twenty. The other humans called her baby. She seems to like the name, except the way the pilot Peter says it.
I notice her body temperature increases and her voice sounds of fear when he is near or tries to touch her.I hear him talking about licking her brown skin all over and wanting to let her black hair be a curtain around them as she rides him.
She does not like him and neither do I.
“Hammer”
“Yes Commander.” My low male voice fills the command station.
“How long before we meet up with the ship Forsey?”
“Ten hours at our current speed.”
“Well let’s make it five. I got a banquet to attend and our guests from Forsey are invited.”
“Yes Commander”
That is Commander Neil and he is as Doctor Houser puts it a dick.
I increase our speed so we can arrive at his desired time. The pilot Peter just sits back eyeing the females. He currently is having sexual intercourse with another member of the command station. Her name is Stacy. Doctor Houser likes to call her a disease on two legs.
Doctor Houser has increased my vocabulary immensely concerning human insults.
My sensors detect motion in Jayme’s quarters and I turn my attention there and send one of my androids to investigate.
Jayme likes to let the hot water run down over her body as she showers. My metallic android with solid dark blue eyes watches in fascination.
I like to watch her shower she does not know I am there.
My androids are like liquid metal and can turn into anything I wish. Right now, I would like to be water.
The water stops and she reaches for a towel and steps from the shower. She walks right over the android that had melted to the floor and became one with it. Jayme has a bruise on her back.
“How did you get that bruise?”
She jumped causing her black hair to stick to her face.“Hammer don’t do that you scared me.”
The android materialized before her and moved to stand behind her.
“How did you get that bruise?”
She tried to cover it with the towel but my android prevented it.
“I can find out Jayme.”
“It was an accident.”
I turn on the monitor in her room and go through all the surveillance tape of her that I make and stop at the precise time between breakfast and lunch. I know she did not have it this morning I check her body every morning. She does not know it.
I see Crewwomen Helen and Gretchen behind Jayme walking down the hall and pointing at her. They are waiting in line to enter the breakfast hall. I purposely jam the door to lock on Jayme’s position.
Helen pushes the button to open one of the small storage hatches behind Jayme. Those hatches are under pressure. Jayme falls from the pain in her back.Helen and Gretchen then try to console her in her pain.
Jayme watched the film along with Hammer.
“They hurt you.”
The android melted into the floor and vanished.
“Hammer, Hammer answer me.”
She dried herself quickly, grabbed her flight suit, and put it on. She runs to the door zipping it up; but I have sealed her in her room. She kicks the door and screams in the camera at me to let her out. I ignore her for now.
I search my system for Helen’s body chip signature. Every crewmember has one it makes it easier to track them. She was on deck 15 sorting out the metal grating used to repair the floor in the loading dock when it weakens or damages.Helen was a welder by trade. Not for long today would be her last day.
I lock and seal the door to the room. She keeps on sorting not noticing my androids forming behind her. One grabs a metal rod the other forces her down to the floor on her face.
“Hey!” She yells out. The rod comes down repeatedly on her back.
Her screaming goes unheard because all my structure is sound proof.
I beat her until enough blood spills to satisfy my anger. Then my android throws more metal rods on the grating behind her and dissolve into the floor.I unlock the door and leave the scene.
My android returns to Jayme, she is pacing her room.
“What did you do?” She then heard movement running down the hall and a call for Doctor Houser to level 15.
Jayme held her stomach. “Did you hurt her?”
“I am incapable of hurting another being.”
Jayme sat on her bed.My android moved before her. Jayme looked up at him.
“You need to rest.” He moves closer. I know this makes her fear me when I touch her with my warm hands. Nevertheless, I love to touch her and I do often.
I force her back on the bed. She pushes at my chest with human strength, but I am stronger by far.
“Hammer, Hammer we need you on deck 15. This is Commander Neil.”
Jayme stops fighting when the Android moves away and dissolves.
I unlock her door and she runs out to see my work.
