Summary: In the year 2014, the reality that humans knew is shattered when existing proof of inhuman beings emerged to claim their places in the world. Every story of fairies and dragons, every tale of vampires and werewolves, every lost myth of monsters and creatures of fancy proved to be true. War was unavoidable. However, even as the governments of the word addressed the problem, an idea was born. Such a war between humans and the smaller but far stronger numbers of inhuman creatures would indeed have been costly and resulted in the complete destruction of the planet. Thus it was proposed for an experiment to be conducted. One single city within the United States would be the staging area to see if humans and their opposing neighbors could coexist as supposedly they had centuries past. Vampires being the strongest and apparently the ones who held domination over the other races to keep order and control in populations were the figurehead of such an integration act. Should humans and their greatest predators be able to live peaceably in the city, more would be fashioned and the gradual unification begin. Even between two races so different and so alike there were links to bridge the gaps, halfbreeds known as dunpeal. One such young man now finds himself thrown directly into the heart of the experiment without the faintest clue of how it will end. Sired by a vampire, birthed by a human, he may be the single link that keeps two worlds connected and the single wedge that keeps them from crashing together and falling into chaos. But can one man truly carry such a burden alone for long without being crushed?
