Now or Never

ok. . .this is my first ever fic so. . .constructive critisism is welcome. . but please no bashing. . .there is not smutty stuff in this chapter but i PROMISE there will be some good stuff in here

Kailani stalked through the dark musty streets, she was one of the very few people
daring enough to do so. Times were tough, women were afraid to walk down streets alone
because of the men out there who commit dishonorable deeds. Kailani was not afraid, she
dared someone to sneak up on her. She wandered the streets looking for some fun when
her acute senses picked up on footsteps coming from the alleyway to her left. She glanced
over and could see two figures-one stalking the other. She turned down the alley, walking
stealthily in the shadows. She saw the figure closest to her pick up speed and advance on
the other one-thats when she saw the glint of sharp teeth. Vampire. She reached inside her
trenchcoat and unsheathed the two short swords from her belt. As she advanced on the
vamipire, something surprised her. The vamp was about 2 feet away from its victem
when the aforementioned “victem” spun around and kicked the vampire backwards. This
wasn’t some awkward, random kick, this guy was trained. She then strode forward and
with a swipe of one of her swords, decappitated the vamp. She looked up at the man who
had been the vampires choice for blood source. Immediately Kailani was lost in his eyes.
His eyes were pools of emerald green, she felt as if she could be lost in him forever just
exploring their depths.
The man cleared his throat and Kailani inspected the rest of him, he was lean and
muscular, he looked to be around her age of 18, his black hair was on the shaggy side but
looked extremely hott on him. His frame was about 6’2” tall, he wore a black fitted tshirt
and trench coat with black cargo pants and combat boots. She didn’t know why but when
she looked him in the eyes again she felt something clench inside her stomach, not
uncomfortable like. . . it felt good.

Aleki stared into the woman’s blue eyes. When she started inspecting him, he did
the same to her. Her raven black hair framed her gorgeous face, those blue eyes were so
unforgettable, and she looked like someone who you probably didn’t want to mess with.
She was about 5’9”, her curves and bustline were to die for, he felt himself stiffen and
bulge in his pants as he thought about it. She wore tight black pants and boots that
halfway up her calf and buckled in many places. At her waist were the sheathes for the
two short swords she held in her hands, along with a few daggers and stakes and such.
Her shirt was a black leather bodice with blue laces, she wore a long black trenchcoat
over it all.
“Nice work” he murmurred eventually.
“ha thanks, not too bad yourself. . .” she responded. “I didn’t realize you knew
what you were doing.” Kailani sheathed her swords. “You must be new to this area, or I
would’ve run into you out here before.”
“Yeah, I uhm, just got here the other day, I needed a change I guess” he told her.
A breeze picked up and a few strands of hair blew into her face, he stepped forward and
brushed it away from her face, his fingers lingering on her cheek for a moment. “What’s
your name?” he asked softly.
“Kailani” she replied, barely above a whisper. “What’s yours?”
“Aleki. . .wait-you’re Hawaiian?” No shit, he thought to himself.
“yes. . Alex. Are you. . or is it just a pet name?” This was bizarre.
“I’m not exactly sure. . .I was orphaned and Kupuna wahine -or so I call her-
found me and raised me. All I knew was that my real name was Alex, I didn’t know
anything else. Aleki is what I go by though.” his hand was still on her cheek, he grazed
his thumb over her lips and heard her sharp intake of breath as her lips parted slightly, he
couldn’t take it anymore. He slid his other arm around her waist and pulled her in to him,
then bent his head down and grazed his lips over hers. She moaned softly and slung her
arms around his neck, deepening the kiss and pressing her body against his.

Kailani was overwhelmed. She wasn’t exactly the type of person who made out
with a stranger in a dark alley, but this felt normal. She didn’t feel suspicious or anything.
She felt his hands roaming all over her body. He lightly grazed his fingerips over her bare
flesh between the bottom of her shirt and top of her pants. She shivered with pleasure and
moaned into his mouth, grinding her hips against him and feeling his arousal on her. She
pulled away panting heavily.
“lets go to my place for some coffee, it isn’t far away” she managed to say beween
gasping breaths. He simply nodded in agreement and let her lead the way.

Damn, Aleki thought to himself. Why was he letting himself get lost in her? He
didn’t know who she was, and she didn’t know who he was. Kailani stopped in front of
him, he stepped forward and was going to say something when she reached her hand back
and placed it on his stomach and peered around the corner. That’s when he heard the
voices
“What the hell are we doing here?” the first voice asked.
“We are waiting for that bitch to make her way home.” stated the second male.
“What’s she got to do with anything?” inquired a third.
“Supposedly she’s some part of a fuckin prophecy and you 3 dipshits better shut
the fuck up before I do you in.” A fourth added in.
So. . these three guys thought they were gonna get a piece of Kailani? Wait...they
said something about a prophecy . .. what the hell is going on here?
Kailani turned around to face him, “fuck, you up for a fight?”
“Always” said Aleki. He grabbed a dagger from his belt and she drew her swords.
They stalked around the corner and saw the four men-if you could call them men. Two
were extremely tall, with pale green skin, pointy ears and claws that were poisonous, they
were called Garnons. The other two looked like vampires right out of a story book, red
and black cape, pasty skin and all.
“You boys wouldn’t happen to be looking for me would you?” Kailani asked, a
smirk playing on her lips.
“You do make it easy love.” said one of the Garnons, all at once the four
advanced. Kailani grinned. This is what she lived for, the methodical dance of a sword
fight, the adrenaline rushing through her veins in a fight. She stalked forward to meet the
first Garnon head on. He raised his claws, ready to strike her but she was ready with her
swords and blocked them. Then, with a swift motion she sliced off his hands at the wrists.
His wails pierced the night, and she thrust her sword into his heart to silence him.
Aleki stalked forwards and took one of the vamps. He made blocks, thrusts and
stabs at the creature, finally when he had a free hand he grabbed a silver stake from his
belt and thrust it into the vampire’s heart, watching as the creature turned into dust. He
glanced over at Kailani as she finished off the first Garnon and advanced towards the
second vamp, finishing him by simply dodging its arms and driving a stake into him. He
bit his lip, damn she was hott, and he had no idea what he was doing being so infaturated
with her. Aleki turned to the final Garnon and grabbed another dagger from his belt and
stabbed him in the stomach and then cut off his head.
“Why do people think that prophecies can be changed. . .they’re called prophecies
for a reason!” Kailani let out a sigh. “People-or beings I should say-are fuckin idiots.”
“So it was you that they were talking about” Aleki said. She walked over to a door
to one of the buildings and got out a key.
“Yeah, joy oh joy”. He laughed and walked over to her and slung an arm around
her waist.
“I am getting the impression that they’re gonna get a fight from you, and I suppose
if you’ll accept, I’ll fight with you.” He looked at her seeing what she thought of this. She
looked up at him and sighed.
“I’d be crazy to say no. It’s so strange,” she commented, “We just met, not even
an hour ago and yet I feel like I’ve known you forever.”
“The world is crazy” Aleki muttered and he drew her to him and covered her
mouth with his. She moaned and kissed back, then broke away.
“Let’s go inside” she said to him. She turned and unlocked the door in front of
her.
