Family Honor

Two families battling for centuries dated back to the time of king Ferdinand V and Queen Isabella I of Spain in the late 1400\'s both family\'s were in service to the royal family the man knights to the king and the women were the queen\'s ladies in waiting. The flighting started one day in 1494 after a treaty between Spain and Portugal was signed ended a five-year war. That night the knight from the Garcia family named ALONZO went to the home of ROGELIO from the ROLDAN family to invite him to a celebration at a local tavern. Only to find him in bed with his wife CESARA
In a fit of blind rage and jealously he pulls out his sword and slays both without hesitation. After the deed had been done, he looks at his hands covered in blood of his friend and wife he gets on his knees in shock of what he has done. He hears a door open and sees a small boy and girl, Rogelio\'s children with tears running down their face after seeing their father blood dripping on the floor. Before they\'re very eyes and not in war or a battle which they feared for the past five years where he could at least die with honor. But in they\'re home, unarmed, no armor, Murdered. Alonso stands and begins to walk to them with his eyes watery. He kneels down to say.\"Im....sorry....I wasn\'t...I...\"
Unable to find the words for what just happen he stands and slowly begins to walk out the small home, outside he gets on his horse and begins to ride off then looks at the house once more.
The boy runs out and yells to the butcher knight \"I WILL AVENGE MY FATHER! TREACHEROUS KNIGHT, YOU WILL DIE BY MY HAND.\"
The knight continues riding down the dirt road thinking to himself \"He speaks the truth, he will get older and stronger and when the time comes I will accept my fate\"

15 years later 1509

Rogelio\'s son named BELTRAN is now 27 yrs old. And his sister FREIRA is now 25.
Beltran has trained and worked his whole life waiting for the moment he has been waiting for the past 15 years the time has come. He begins his journey to Portugal. That is where Alonso said to be after that horrible night. His sister gives him some gold and food for the trip from Madrid to
Valenca de minho, Portugal. His sister tells him\"slay well brother.\"\"I will sister\"he response.
With that he\'s off once he had arrived at Valenca he tired to get information on where he lived.
A barkeep told him of a Spanish knight who lives near the town\'s border. He raced toward the house, and he got off his horse and knocked on the door. A man of 40 answers.\"Yes? How may I help you?\" Beltran says nothing but holds up his shield. Alonzo looks at the shield sees the family crest portrayed on the shield. His expression hardens and looks at beltran
\"I see...I suppose the time has come.\" A woman comes to the door \"who is it dear?\" then a little boy stands next to the woman \"who\'s that papa? Is he a knight?\"the boy asks. \"Yes and man of his word as I can see.\" He looks at his wife \"why don\'t you and Jorge go up stairs?\" \"Why? What\'s going on?\" she asks in a confused and worried tone.\"Please, upstairs\" he gives her a kiss. She head up the stairs. Alonzo turns to beltran\"it\'s been 15 years and it appears you have trained hard for this moment, well you wish to battle me, yes?\" Beltran just looks at him and draws his sword. \"Now, outside bring your armor. Unlike you I\'m giving my opponent a chance to defend himself.\" Alonzo walks to the center of the floor and rips out a floorboard a large box containing his armor, sword, and shield. And places his armor on, grabs his sword, holds up his shield.
\"Let us finish this\" says alonzo.


Both stand outside 10 feet apart staring down at each other.\"Ready to fight old man?\"
Beltran yells \"The true question is, are you child?\" they both draw their swords and begin to fight. Their sword clash sparks fly with every hit. But it ended just as quickly as it started.
With on fatal swing Alonzo was down on the floor bleeding. He struggles to speak, \"you\'re....vendetta.....comes to an end . . . you\'ve avenged . . . your father.\" with that his last breath. He closed his eyes and a silence loomed over the area. Alonzo\'s son runs out of the house and to his father\'s body crying over him \"papa...papa! ...don\'t go!\".He looks up at the man who has slain his father. \"Why?\"he cried\"Why did you kill him, why?\" Beltran just turns around and begins walking to his horse. As he begins to ride off, he hears Alonzo\'s son shouting from the distance.\"My father\'s death will not be in vain!\"And so began a war between families that rage for next 497 years.

469 years later

The year is 1980, Miami, Florida and the families are still at war but with each battle the families grow equally small. Both families have come to realize that the war will soon come to an end. So both families agree on a final battle and so each family has one son. A son that they will train at the art of battle and skill of martial arts, weaponry, and driving skills. It\'s decided that the battle to end it all will begin at their 25th birthday.

It\'s is now 2004 both sons are 25, the son of the Garcia family named ANASTASIO with his expert skills in martial arts and his favorite gun a 44 magnum always by his side. He fights not for his family but for himself to prove his strength and courage. He cares for no one. He enjoys intimidating the people around him and his neighborhood with his street racing ready car a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429. He owns the title for best racer in Miami and his unbeatable car. Then there is also the son from the Roldan Family named Gonlazo unlike Anastasio He fights for his families honor. But is yet conflicted on the reasons why they fight after nearly 500 years the stories on why they fight have been lost but they battle. Gonlazo tried to research into the families history during his training, but it turns up empty, he was only able to trace as far back as the Cuban revolution where the Garcia family were followers of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and his crusade against Spain for independence for Cuba. The Garcia family fought against the Spain army in the ten year war and members of the Roldan family were station Spaniard soldiers in Cuba. The Garcia family and the rest of the of the freedom fighters laid waste to the Spaniard army and to the Roldan soldiers. It\'s was a battle that the Garcia\'s won in this never ending war. But one thing is certain to Gonlazo this war must date father back. As far back as any living family member can remember both families always showed their crests that dates back to Queen Isabella I so it\'s obvious that is where the battle must have begun.He continues searching but doesn\'t stop training hard with his Desert Eagle. He is a master gunslinger and an expert of weaponry, he can use anything to defend himself. He doesn\'t like being the one to start a fight but if someone else fires the 1st shot it will be he who will fire the last. Now his 18th birthday has past and he loads up puts on his sunglasses and grabs his desert eagle gets into his black 2004 Ferrari Enzo a birthday gift from his mother. He drives off out of the family\'s company garage. A company his family started named Bright Raven technologies.
The company is one of the country\'s leaders of technological devices in the fields of electronics and advance weapons.

Across downtown, another skyrise lie in the city with bright red words lit up at the top it reads: Swords Edge INC. A private company that does very public work, distributing medical supplies to underfunded clinics and donating new form of forensics and other law enforcement technologies to Miami and the rest of Florida. This company creates computers and cd, mp3, DVD Players. An entertainment company mainly. Inside Anastasio is also in the company garage in his Mustang listening to his favorite station 94.9 zeta. The car engine roar as he shoots out of the garage. Anastasio takes out his cell phone while driving down the florida turnpike and goes to the text message section. As night falls on Miami.

Meanwhile, across downtown, Gonlazo in his Enzo hears his cell phone making a beeping sound. He grabs it, a message is displayed on the screen reads: 8:00pm tonite Paseo Mall. He knows this mall, It was closed down four years ago for renovation but never reopened, now it just sits there on Coral Way. The clock on his radio says 7:15pm and he still in downtown he hits the gas as he holds up his gun with one hand. He prepares himself for the first duel.

25 minutes later

its 7:40
Anastasio in his mustang parks the car in the garage which is located above the mall, he gets out and closes the door. A security guard walks up from behind him \"Excuse me sir, you can\'t park here the gym is closed.\" The guard was speaking of the Bally Total Fitness that is the only part of the mall that is still open to the public. The guard still speaking \" Im going to have to ask you to leave, sir.\" Anastasio takes a glance at the guard and sees no weapon just a radio and begins to walk toward him, before the guard can blink he pulled out a small gun and shot him in the stomach. The guard shaking looks at the wounded area but instead of blood he sees a dart sticking into him.\"What...the..\" The guard falls to his knees then face first to the ground.
\"Sweet dreams\" he opens his jacket to put the gun away and ninja stars are seen holstered around his Belt. Now he waits.

24 minutes later

its 8:04
Gonlazo sees the mall and turn right at the light and then turns left, up the ramp to the parking garage. As he parks, he notices a security guard on the floor. He rushes out of his car and runs to the guard, puts two fingers on his neck and feels a faint pulse. Then notices the dart in his stomach
And pulls it out.\"There something written here\" he says to himself. He reads the dart\" advance adenosine triphosphatase, Snake Poison\" he begins to check his breathing and heartbeat slowly fading.\"Your going to be all right, Hang in there\" He knows his chance of surviving are slim. He pulls out his cell phone begins to Dail \"9..1\" the phone then flies out of his hand onto the floor with a bullet hole though it. A voice is heard from the darkness \"Lets not ruin our fun just yet.\"
Anastasio walks into the light with his magnum aim right at Gonlazo\'s head. \" You\'re a coward Anastasio, poisoning a defenseless man.!\"said Gonlazo. \"Don\'t call me a coward, now pull out your Gun.\"

Gonlazo stands and draws his Desert Eagle.\"Why did you call me here?\"Gonlazo asked.
\"I thought that this abandon mall could be perfect for a battlefield away from prying eyes\"
Anastasio answered. Gonlazo looks at the security guard still lying on the floor dying before his eyes. Anastasia With a wicked smile, \"You want the antitoxin right?\" Gonlazo puts his finger on the trigger \"Give it to me, Now!\"Anastasia pulls out a small case with a syringe inside\"why do you even care what happens to this man, he\'s just collateral damage.\"

\"No that\'s where your wrong he is an innocent that has no part in this family quarrel.\" Said Gonlazo. \"Your sympathy is your weakness and will be your downfall. If you want the antitoxin so much come and get it.\" Anastasio runs into the darkness Gonlazo chases after him. Anastasio goes to the stairwell going down two stories and Gonlazo right behind him every step of the way. Anastasio turns around and fires two rounds at him. Gonlazo quickly pushes a button on his wristwatch and a large sort of electro shield with his family crest form from the watch protecting him from the gunfire. Anastasio looks at the device completely surprised by it. He runs out of the stairwell into the mall and ducks behind a counter grabbing a ninja stars from his belt. Gonlazo bursts though the door. Once again a voice shrouded in darkness echos in the mall.\" That\'s a very remarkable gadget\" Gonlazo with his sunglasses still on taps the frame once, His sunglasses now night vison glasses. \"I almost forgot the military work your family\'s company is involved in. But you\'re not the only one with toys.\"He pulls out a remote from his pocket and a small cube, throws the cube across the room. Gonlazo hears a slight sound and tries to locate it. He turns to see Anastasio with his gun aim at him. Gonlazo shoots three rounds at him but they just past right though him, he takes a closer look and realize it\'s a hologram. The real Anastasio jumps from behind\"GONLAZO!\" he turns around to look. Anastasio fires a shot at him, Gonlazo holds up his shield and takes the shot. Gonlazo then pulls out his gun and fires at Anastasio gun off his hand.

With his gun gone he throws the ninja star he had, right at Gonlazo and as they fly at him Anastasio flips a switch on his remote. The ninja stars then began emitting electricity as one hit the electro shield it began sparking wildly. Gonlazo removed the wristwatch as fast as he can. Once it was off, he threw it across the mall after it landed the watch reacted in an unstable electrical explosion. The second ninja star just missed him by a hair then Anastasio pushed a button on his remote. The ninja star began to change direction and not reducing in speed. Gonlazo fired at the star and fell to the ground. Anastasio then threw six more each one targeting him, with that done Anastasio began making his exit to the elevator.\"Have Fun Gonlazo, we will meet again\"he gave a low laugh as the doors closed. Gonlazo shot four more down and began to reload his weapon but remembers he left ammo in his car, with two ninja stars still in the air and no ammo he ducks to avoid one and quickly crawls to some construction supplies and grabs a 2x4 gets up\"Batter up\"
One star flying right toward him he stands like a baseball batter and swings and hits it the ninja star flies to the opposite direction and crashes right into the other ninja star. He begins to run up the stairs, up the two stories and out the door. Anastasio is already in his Mustang trying to exit the garage. Gonlazo gets into his enzo and gives chases. The Mustang about to exit, Gonlazo crashes his enzo right in passenger side of the Mustang and hurling it to the wall. Anastasio gets out of the slightly damaged car and stands on the ledge. Gonlazo gets out of his completely totaled enzo \"you try to hit a metal car with a fiberglass car, smart move Gonlazo.\" Anastasio chuckled. \"Give me the antitoxin!\" he shouted as aimed his gun at him.\"Now!\"

\"You\'re still thinking about him? How pathetic.\" Anastasio pulls out the case with the syringe
\"I might as well drop right here over the ledge.\" He smiles as he holds the case the over the edge.
\"Don\'t do it\"Gonlazo can tell he\'s going to drop, so he fires two shot to his chest and rushes to grab him, Anastasio begins to fall back Gonlazo grabs his jacket and pulls him in takes the case and runs to the guard still in the same spot where he left him. He takes out the syringe and injects him
in his left arm after some time passes the guard\'s pulses slowly becomes stronger. Gonlazo then stands and turns to Anastasio\'s body only to find it gone, vanished.

The Next Day

The City of Miami Police are all over the mall. Two homicide detectives are in charge of this case.

One detective named CARLOS Gonzalez, a man who became a police officer after his parents were killed in the crossfire of what appeared to be a gang war. But no one was ever arrested, He hopes that he can find the criminals responsible for his parent\'s death.

The second detective named ROSLYN Santos, a woman that comes from a long line of police officers. Her father and grandfather and great-grandfathers were all law enforcement. She an only child, although her father wanted a boy, he still loved her just the same and taught her everything she knows from shooting to defending herself.

An officer escorts them to the security guard for questioning. The guard is siting while a paramedic is checking out as a precaution. Carlos sits next to the guard.\"Rough night, huh?\"
\"You bet\"said the guard. \"Who did this to you and wreak the mall?\" Carlos asked
\"Well all I remember was someone came into the parking garage in an old mustang. He got out and I told him the gym was closed but he didn\'t say anything then he turns around and shot some kind of dart at my stomach. I fell down and passed out I couldn\'t move I was like paralyzed or something. But after a while I heard someone come in and check if I was okay then all I remember hearing is some gunfire and then that\'s it, that is until i felt someone injected something in my arm. When I woke up no one was here so then I called the cops. Whoever that second guy was he saved my life
I would have been dead if it wasn\'t for him. Now if you don\'t mind I should be getting home my kids are probably worried sick.\" \"That\'s okay just talk to that officer and he\'ll take you home.\"Carlos points to the officer. He then begins to talk to his partner \"I want a blood test done on him figure out what that bastard pumped him full of and where are we on the security tapes?\"
\"We got nothing\"said roslyn. \"What do you mean we got nothing?\" he asks in a confused tone.
\"Let me show you\"roslyn takes him to the surveillance room and press play on the tape. She points at the left screen \"check this out.\" The mustang gets up the ramp then static fills the screen. \"As soon as the car comes in the shot, all the screens go out, some sort of magnetic disturbance.\" Roslyn explains. \"But where did it come from?\" Carlos asked. \"We\'re not sure there might have been some device in the car that disrupted the cameras, permentally because even though the car is gone the cameras are still showing static.\" They both exit the room. \"Well what do we have?\" Carlos asked
\"Well we do have tire marks from two different cars with sent samples to the crime lab a .44 magnum and shell casings from that gun we sent it all to ballistics to check it out for us and another set of shell casings from a second gun. Also, what appears to be parts of a watch and ninja stars.\"Roslyn read off a clipboard. \"Ninja stars? Are you serious?\"Carlos asked as he grab the clipboard. \"Well whoever they are they cleaned up too much.\" Carlos said. \"But they left a gun and the casings\" roslyn adds. \"15 bucks say the gun is unregistered.\" Said Carlos. \"You\'re on.\"
Roslyn\'s cell phone rings she pulls it out and answers it \"Hello? .....Oh hey Baby....oh nothing just checking out something in the old paseo\'s mall.....yea...ok...I\'ll see tonight...ok I love you.... bye.\"
Roslyn hangs up. \"Was that your boyfriend?\" Carlos asked . \"Yes, why jealous are we?\" roslyn asks. \"Of what? , Some rich trust fund baby, who can get whatever he wants and dosent have a care in the world.... You bet I am. What was his name again?\" he asks. \"I ve told you like a million times its Gonlazo Roldan.\"

One day later

At the City of Miami police Headquarters. Carlos is sitting at his desk filling out reports he puts the report in the out box. Then looks at a photo of his parents. Roslyn then comes in with a report in her hand.\"I owe you 15 bucks.\"She says with a mild expression.\"I told you they cleaned house before we got there. What about the blood test on the security guard?\"He asked . Roslyn then looks at a file in her hand.\"Well according to the lab they found traces of adenosine triphosphatase\"
She reads off the file. \"What the hell is that?\" Carlos asked with a confused expression. \"A snake poison, it says here it attacks the victims nerve system.\" roslyn explains. \"Ok. What about the ballistic report on the second set shell casings?\" Carlos asked hoping for a break in this case. \"Ballistics cant come up with anything.\" Roslyn answered with a disappointed expression. \"What do you mean ballistic cant come up with anything?\" Carlos completely shocked by the idea. \"Well\" Roslyn begins to explain. \"The chemical composition of the casings and bullets would make it impossible for us to match it to the gun. Apparently the casings are made from a chemical that prevents us to match it to the gun.\" Roslyn then puts the report on his desk.
\"Where can someone get these bullets?\" Carlos asked his partner as he grabbed the report to read it over. \"That\'s the same thing ballistics asked me, These bullets shouldn\'t exist.\" Roslyn said. She sits down at her desk that is placed in front of Carlos desk. \"Well, that means we find the bullets, we find those who are responsible for all this.\" Carlos puts down the report.
\"Who do you think were dealing with here?\" roslyn asks. \"I don\'t know but something tells me this is only the beginning.\"

So now the battle of Family Honor begins in Morden day Miami with the most advance weaponry known to man. Who will win is uncertain. But one thing is, this war will affect everyone in the tropical city.
