Wolves in the Night

**Author\'s note**
Well, it might be a little rough I pulled it out of my ass last night, it\'s not done yet, there are four plotlines that switch between chapters. I wrote this while listening to the album \"It Dreams\" by Jakalope, so I suggest you listen to it while reading, if you don\'t have it then get it, I don\'t care how, just get it.

Also the transgender is a Female to Male, and I Only refer to him as him because it\'s what I believe in, you don\'t like it, go read something else.
**End Authors note**

Mara was always a little spooked when she walked home from work through the park, it was dark, full of shadows and carried odd noises. The sounds tonight were especially odd, sounds like people breathing heavily, whispering, and even chuckling. Then there were the ordinary noises adding to the creepiness, the hard crunch of her boots in the snow, the far off sirens of police and ambulances, even the silence from the absence of animals in the park. Mara knew that if worse came to worse she always had her trusty mace, but that could be difficult if they got her from behind.

Mara quickly shook the negative thought and took a deep cleansing breath. Around one of the many twists in the path, came a dark figure; he was dressed all in black, starting with a black trench coat, scarf, headband and leather gloves. His coat danced behind him as the cold breeze blew into his face; his glasses glinted in the moonlight as he came toward Mara. As he walked, the open coat swayed hypnotically,

A blurred shadow bolts from the woods and plows into the man, knocking him off the path and into the deep snow. Mara takes a few quick steps toward the man to help him. What Mara sees, doesn’t make any sense to her mind. The man screams in terror and pain as the creature over him claws and bites him, blood and scraps of leather fly through the air and taint the pristine snow around them.

Mara stares in fearful awe as the large beast tears the man apart, blood and darker fluids pool around his body melting into the snow and slowly begin to freeze. The creature turns its wolfish head toward Mara and it sniffs the air, a low growl penetrates the cold air between them, Mara reaches into her handbag and grasps the small mace canister,

“Jenn, stop this,” a strong, commanding, male voice shouts from the darkness, the creature looks over its shoulder, back where it emerged from. The wolfish creature bares its teeth and growls into the darkness, “Control yourself, or so help me I will,” the same voice replies. The wolfish creature returns to the now dead man in black and lunges with her jaws taking a large bite out of his flesh.

Mara is frozen in fear and astonishment as another creature leaps from the woods landing beside the first one, the second one has a mix of grey and white fur, where as the first is white as the snow save for the blood matting its fur to its chest, the second creature raises a clawed hand and backhands the first one across the muzzle, knocking the other creature into the snow, a high pitched yelp comes from the first one.

“Don’t let it control you Jenn, you’re better than this,” the first creature gets onto all fours and lowers its head, rubbing its muzzle against the leg of the other. The second creature turns to Mara and speaks to her, “Go home human, before she loses her composure again,” Mara hurries past the creatures, the second one is nearly a foot taller than she is making it about 6’3”. As soon as Mara makes it around the twist in the path, she breaks out into a full run until she reaches her apartment building.
