This is a fantastic start to the book! Reilyn is just a little firecracker in his flashback wanting to learn all the magic he can. He's badass and takes shit from no one. That fight with those two guys was heartbreaking (not for the human bastards), poor squirrel! It's sad that his mom had to sell him. He's so innocent at that point. I love how masterfully you are sowing so many plotlines together. Can't wait to see how it progresses.
P.S. Introducing a character in his death scene is bold, but it somehow works. Want to know more about Ignatus
