This story is short, particularly compared to other works set in this universe (erotica and otherwise), which reflects how easily Max and Lucie are now able to get on and satisfy each other sexually. They know each other's bodies well by this point, as do regular readers; we would know something was off, for instance, if Lucie ever forgot to stimulate Max's testicles!
Of course, they have also made some new discoveries, specifically being ready to say the L word and the lap sex position. The latter brings with it a very positive message about what makes for good sex i.e. whatever both partners enjoy; Lucie makes it clear that her stimulating her own genitalia in no way detracts from her enjoyment or from Max's contribution to it.
There is good attention to detail, most notably the textbooks on veterinary medicine, reminding us that these are characters with rounded lives. This setting feels particularly right and emotionally fulfilling for Lucie, as we see that she is studying what she's passionate about as well as having fantastic sex with WHO she's passionate about.
