A very interesting style. It's almost Second-Person POV. But of course, not quite.
I was still unsure if the father or the son was going to be influenced by the totem for a whlie.
I spent some time thinking that the thing would curse the son, somehow turning the situation around for the dad.
I guess that's just the disposition to attach myself to the narrator.
The action was hot. I don't often go for this kind of thing, but the story gripped me and it was exciting and sexy.
Good job.
I hope to see this story continue because it is very hot.
