Review of The Price of The Land by BronxWench
I gotta say, this was an excellent way to close off Halloween. I finished reading this at 11 pm so I'm truly ending the evening with this delectable little bite of pagany goodness. Loved it. Loved having all those Irish accents floating around in my head (though I'm a prairie girl from Canada so I won't pretend the irish accents in my head didn't float back and forth to English and Welsh on occasion).
It was abundantly clear through the whole short story how much you love that kinda lore. Everything was so... Fuck, what's the word? Visceral? Vivid? It was chock full of atmosphere and eerie, halloweeny feelings. Awesome job.

Oh... the names were eeriely similar, I had to look at your 2015 submission to verify that it was a sequel! Nicely done :) Yeah, loved it.

That was some nicely hot action between Jamila and Tu'Van. Too bad that neither Jamila nor Eric ended up getting what they wanted in the end, but maybe they'll overcome their rocky beginning. I'll confess to having been a little distracted by the knowledge that these were renamed DC characters; I kept trying to figure out who each of them was. Tu'Van and Eric were obviously Martian Manhunter and Bruce Wayne, but I never guessed who the women were.

Is it bad that I laughed at the bit about Senna putting the husband's cock and balls in the wife's purse? :)
Seriously, this was nicely nasty. I just knew Monroe was a dead woman the moment she stepped through the door; then it was all about the anxious anticipation. And one wonders what will become of Grace now... Thanks for a nice little slice of utter creepiness.
Clover Reef, Blue Eyes
I love a little horrific justice. And I like that Crispin is far from perfect but is still the better man in this scenario.
Tahn -- Town Made of Straw
Nicely done. I like the logic of the murder of murderous crows bypassing the town because of the smell of rotting flesh. And the concept of building your own scarecrow kind of made me think of Jesus willingly building his own cross. (I mean, he could have, right? He was a carpenter in his first job.) Or possibly a DIY Wicker Man. In any case, I enjoyed it.
Town Made of Straw by Tahn:
I was one of the first to read this before you thought of posting it but I will show others what I felt :P I was expecting the crows to have to do with a lot but yeah, no. Nicely done and as we’ve told you before, I think you’ve found your common genre. Creepy and spooky tales suit you (not that dragons and sweetness doesn’t. But you seem to pump these out more than any other story)! Good job.
Stalker by tcr:
Holy crap. It never dawned on me that someone could get away with that on Halloween. I want to know what happens next!
Blue Eyes by CloverReef:
*shudders * What a way to go. I… don’t know how I felt it would go. Like, it was expected but wasn’t. I really liked Crispin and hated he was treated that way. It was good to see that he got his revenge… no matter how gruesome… lol
Bones by Desiderius_Price:
Unfortunately, your tags drew me away from the story so I wasn’t able to read it, knowing what would be in store…
Black Cat by GeorgeGlass:
I love this poem and the way you captured all the superstitions of being a black cat. I’m glad it ended the way it did ^_^
Town Made of Straw - Good
Liquid Lust – Overall, good, was expecting a morning after “I’m pregnant”. One concrit, slightly tough to follow w/o having read your other stories (I know this challenge too).
(and this is what I could get to before work, rest to follow)
This is a review of Town Made of Straw by Tahn.
"If left unchecked, the giant black birds would raze the city, burning everything and devouring any poor souls they came across."
My first thought: "Oh my god, who taught these birds how to light a match!?" Which is a fun mental image. Just a bunch of giant, hooligan crows flicking lighters and, I dunno why, acting like 80's British punks.
I'm getting a "Hunger Games" crossed with "Children of the Corn", but with birds, vibe. It was so dark and creepy. I knew that something was gonna happen at the end based on the tag, but it was still unexpected and shudder-worthy. Well done, Tahn.
Review of Liquid Lust by KoKoa_B
Wow, that was hot! I love how subtle your language is. You are able to make it incredibly hot and graphic without being blunt or vulgar about it. Like sometimes it feels like you're using suggestion alone, and that's amazing. I could visualize the sex scene perfectly.
What was her name, Jamila? She was a bit frustrating, constantly needing to be reassured while she was sober. I kept wanting her and Eric to just frigging do it, lol! Like they both clearly wanted to! Shower scene was both super hot and super frustrating because of it. And fuck Tu'van sounds like an insanely hot character, but I guess I have a soft spot for the big dudes... I mean in stature, not schlong... I swear.
Lovely job, KoKoa <3
Review of Stalker by TCR and Bones by Desiderius Price
Stalker:
I love how psycho this stalker is. The story is nicely gorey, violent and twisted. Like a little delectable halloween funsize version of a slasher. You used the Halloween setting to cover up the horror going on well and the fact that she took the time from her mutilating and groping to give the kiddies their candies was kinda sweet lol.
Bones:
Though I often found myself confused by the dialogue, I found this story pretty entertaining. It's a great concept and you do it with a lot of originality. I'd love to see more about the reverend lol. And I noticed your sound effects. I like the way you throw those in. Makes it nicely jarring and moves the scene along at a great pace.
Stalker – TCR
Spooky and eerie, and it has me wondering about the circumstances around it. Why this particular house, was it for the one particular person, or more of a random thing?
Blue Eyes – CloverReef
Loved it! Took me a moment to figure it out, but yeah, good work.
