Need more of this story, or others like it
This was pretty fun! It uses your favorite story element (eggs being laid inside a human uterus) but I really enjoyed a couple of the things you did here.
First, I liked how nice Dr. Crane was, and how she gave June the option of just leaving. Stories like this have a tendency to be rather...rapey. Sometimes that works, but I liked that you chose to go a different way here.
Second, I got a little worried when I heard that Dr. Crane's husband had died recently. I kind of figured you were going to reveal that she ate him...and you didn't! That's awesome! Sexual cannibalism is certainly well-documented in spiders, but that's generally from laboratory studies; its prevalence in nature is not well understood, so "the female always eats the male" is kind of an unfortunate stereotype, and while you didn't rule it out, I like that you left the door open for the possibility that he just died in a car accident or something.
The story does make me wonder about its setting. June didn't know about the existence of spider people, so do they hide from humans? If so, how did Dr. Crane get her medical degree? Are monsters unknown to the general public but known to the government? It's an interesting thing to think about.
