Listening to Three Days Grace - Infra-Red was very appropriate and mood-setting for the end of the chapter. Very exciting! It just so happened that the soft singing played at the very end, during that intimate moment between Victor and Joseph. It's such a pivotal moment too. "Like nobody else is in the room. I see you, I see you. Everyone's living in black and white. We see each other in a different light. That's why I look at you the way I do. Like nobody else is in the room." Might've mixed up the lyrics, but that's an approximate.
Yes, look at that chapter! (50). Very nice. Johnny is very indulgent, and it's uber refreshing to see someone normal, a dom, and not a selfish dick. *cough* Troy *cough* I almost cried for Joseph, yet again. When will the heartache ever stop?! And I'm a selfish asshole, so make the heartache stop for me because I totally channel Joseph whenever he's heartbroken and begging Troy.
AWWW HOW CUTE!!! Quarter chapter break on chapter 54, at the end of Joseph's lunch with Heath. I'm really glad Heath is getting to know Joseph, who is finally willing to open up to him. I'm not sure why on earth he was so guarded with Heath, but my best guess would be to blame Troy. I don't know if we've ever seen Joseph roar with laughter, but it's refreshing. Evelyn's sarcastic response to Joseph was funny. Troy and Heath going all starry-eyed over Kowalski, in addition to Joseph being starstruck, was funny too.
More and more as I read this, I think it would be fun to have a directory, or catalogue of all of the characters' names. Donna, for example? I like that Denise had to bite back her retorts because Troy is one of the most selfish people she knows. And I'm glad Liam spoke up about the dress. Towards the end, and after Joseph told Liam to tell Troy that he didn't want it, it seemed more obvious. I'm still confused as to what Troy's deal is with avoiding Joseph, but it seems to matter significantly less now. Victor telling Joseph not to wear the piercings also makes sense. I'm really glad that Eddy is there for Joseph, because a lot of the second/third book was him being kind of a dick. Not to say that his anger isn't justified, but it was hardly Joseph's fault. Pat and somebody else were kind of confusing to me because they came off as dicks too, so it's hard to gauge their personalities. Again with the whole character directory- if there was a summary of who they were and how they behaved, it would all make so much sense.
Chapter 24, first third. It's not really that funny, but I can't help but giggle at Joseph and Troy's unbelievable sexual tension. I mean, throwing down slaves and sinking their manhoods into the first hole they can get, with negative-ten impatience? They are so silly. And melo-freaking-dramatic. Although I keep forgetting to note in my comments that I end up almost crying whenever Joseph described his heartbreak over Troy. I'm glad that he's (ugh) past it and becoming stronger despite what happened. It certainly is a familiar scene, remembering life (cringe) before getting involved with someone you love. But now they're in that pukey, doe-eyed exchanges stage.
CH 27- Was Disneyland close enough to drive to, when Matt went with the other kids? And ha, if Heath heard Joseph say he didn't have a private jet, I bet he'd own one in the next five minutes and have it on the way to get them.
Alice Cooper - Poison came on at the beginning of chapter 28. Seems appropriate enough.
Buckcherry - Tight Pants

Okay, I skipped back here from book 2. I'm on chapter 39, so I'm almost done, and I'd clicked on the wrong tab by accident. Who knew Liam had such a bite! Joseph was an ass- that was surprising. But everybody's been on edge and angsty all session. It's nice to see Andre with much more of a playful and outgoing personality. They used to be so quiet.
