This was GREAT!!! So amazing- and it's even better savored and torturously waiting for, as is the theme of the story. One of the amazing and frustrating themes. The scene with Violet was exquisite. I'm a little disappointed for her, not being taken as a sub, but there's plenty of time for other wonderful things to happen for her. I'm happy that the length wasn't compromised and that there was a lot of meat in the chapter. Louie standing up for Violet was touching, especially because we haven't seen anyone stick up for another in the Den so far. I felt Joseph's exhaustion and highly enjoyed Liam as a person, not a subhuman slave. Poor Victor is being overloaded- I hope he's coping better than Joseph is. Matt and Joseph's thing is really weird to me still- viewing him as a kid all these years makes it confusing to see him as a partner, potentially, for Joseph. My heart goes out a little bit for Toby- he didn't react as well as he could have, but I think he's trying his best. I can only imagine how tormented he is from reacting out of jealousy and shock. And then to be scared of Joseph too... The cool thing with Matt is that he gets to step into a leadership position with the other kids, and mentor them a little bit. He can stop being a kid in the "real world" for a bit and use his experience out there to help other people. I am INCREDIBLY excited about this update and cannot, cannot wait for more.

Hi hi! I’m reading!!! Never fear! I just can’t get around it. Poor Joseph. Also... please provide Nick kicking Toby’s ass at school please so that Matt can watch with Victor and Toby’s folks.

Just poor Joseph...

I'VE REACHED THE FUCKING END!!! Damn has it been a fucking journey. Well firstly, I feel like the trilogy should be four books at this point. Salway's death would be a great stopping point. Unless things wrap up more quickly than they have been, I could see this last book doubling in length from where it is now- especially if you plan to develop the younger characters that were just introduced. Then there's everyone who's come to help, Joseph's professors, and the student workers.

Aww I liked this chapter! Ryan's interaction with his parents could have come straight out of the Victorian Era, which is fun and different. His interaction with his brothers was a lot of fun, and spoke volumes in a few words. Ryan's relationship with Heather was touching too, and it was refreshing to explore his perspective more.

Eeeeeh, one of my favorite chapters! I even liked Doug. I like his banter with Joseph about how clueless Ryan is, and I like the enthusiam and excitement from Evelyn. We never got to see her interact with Ryan and I like that Ryan is looking out for Heather too. Really liked it.
