Choose your own adventure would be a great concept if it were truly that, but it's not, it considers everyone's input, so is basically an exercise in frustration for the reader, who's going to want to see the story get played out in a certain way and then have to see it go in a different direction time and time again. Generally one chooses an author for a combination of plot and prose; in this the former is a crapshoot while the latter is not even a given.
