Poor ickle Payne, he needs a virtual hug (not like he's up to a physical one). It's so sad but there's somethign I love about your story, is that a) when it gets nasty, you don't go into full horrific detail, so its just part of the story and not some sick and twisted mind enjoying torture and blood and gore as some do.
B) you always know when to move to another "view point" just when you feel you can't take anymore sadness or angst, you shift the story so that you can relax, its pretty amazing and I love it and its one of the reasons your stories are so good, because you just have that balance. Not too much horror, not too much angst and not too much inanity with a little bit of fluff thrown in at the side (like Spence). You have me hooked on this one too.

This is a great story! Poor Payne, he so traumatized. I hope he gets justice. Matt looks like he's trying to get the men who hurt Payne. I'm rooting for him! OohI what is Baz hiding? Was he involved or does he know who raped Payne? I'm dying to know.I look forward to your next chapter

I just realized that Payne and Matt are also in 'Loving Sarajevo' which is another of my favorite stories. I can only assume that Spence in that story is one in the same too. Anyways, thank you for this latest update. Looking forward to the next.

I HOPE TO HELL MATT NAILS HIS BAZ ASS! I also hope that the plate number will shed some light on Allen too! I really hope that Baz doesn't get the chance to tip Allen off! I also HOPE TO HELL that Baz get's a conscience and spill some if not all of it! I hope that Payne remembers the weather man at least! I see a bunch of new chapters being poster and i will read them, but not right now. Last week of school is coming up and distractions aren't needed, even the good ones ;) BUT i think new titel falling for her was really fun! :3

Ok, Readers' Digest version: I LOVE Spence!! He seems like such a good friend to Matt. :) I hope we see more of him. I can actually picture Spence having a heart-to-heart with Payne. I think he would be a really cool person to talk to. :)
What the hell is Baz doing with that fuckwad of a b/f? Does he not know what his b/f and those other pervs did to his friend? What the fuck's wrong with him? He would rather live in the luxury of limos and easy money than come clean and help his friend try to recover? He's a spinless ass is what he is. I hope Stella and Matt intimidate him enough to get him to spill everything.
And I think you got Payne's reaction to himself down to a T. He feels guilty b/c he couldn't fight those assholes off, he feels weak, and now they beat him, tortured him, drugged him, and raped him. He's dirty, used, and violated. Why would anyone want to look at him again? They must all think he's some dirty, weak person who will never be 'clean' again.
I really hope he goes to therapy. There's no way he can do this on his own. His mind's just going to close into itself and he'll never find his way back out again. You know, I think Spence would be a great person to talk to. I know they don't even know each other, but Spence seems like such a great guy - very compassionate and understanding. Funny, I was thinking this as I was typing. lol

I'm so angry i don't know what to say! except for i hope those rapists burn in hell! >:( seems like you've made me hooked on this story aswell. I wasn't so sure I'd like it so much, the characters didn't really speak to me first. But i can't say no to a detective/justice novel. Nothing gives me as much pleasure as seeing the bad guys get what's coming to them. And these guys...these guys...i hope Matt tears them into shreds!! (And yea, i know it's just a story ;)) and btw i really like his female partner, it's a first! And his old partner is a git!!! And spence is spence from The heart Wants right? Jeez I'm on a roll can't stop...xD will review the ending of falling for him too, but it was so sweet and perfect and there's really not much to say! Xoxo

It is always a pleasure to start or end the day with a treat like your story. And though this one is a little stronger in tone and storyline, I am in no doubt it will grow into a grand tale like your other stories I have eagerly read and enjoyed.

I can't believe Matt has to work with that asshole Sam. Jesus, what a douchebag.
Payne is in trouble. Even after his physical wounds heal, the emotional trauma is going to take a very long time to abate. He's going to need professional help for quite some time. I have a feeling his mind is going to shut down or something or make him mute, in order to protect him from talking about what happened. Although...his mind will also relive the trauma over and over again.
This chapter was so well written, CL, as all your chapters are, but the emotional angle in this chapter was so heartbreaking. My heart breaks for Payne.
What happened to Baz and Ralphie? Did they experience the same fate? Or were they spared? Did Baz know what was going to happen? He'd be an accessory then, right? I hope they resurface soon.
