Why do I get the feeling one of those other cops are gonna be in on it? I really hope not.

I can't get used to this new format AFF has. Not sure if I like it. I'm not a fan of change. lol

Terrific chapter, CL!

I liked at the end with Stella and Matt joking around because it made Payne feel more comfortable. It's good that they were the two officers who initially took him. I think he would have freaked out if the officers they sent out to get him were strangers.

So Mr. Marv the Perv has a wife and three kids. Boy, are THEY in for a rude awakening about their husband/father! Scumbag. I hope they find Baz also - no friend could ever do that to another friend. What a shit.

I love your stories! While finishing up your last update on another story, I decided to try this one. I was not disappointed. Please update soon! It's so sad about Ralphie :/ and I would like to know how Baz got into this - blackmail, fear, all of the above? I am not excusing him for what he's done, I just feel like there is more to it than money and a heart of stone. Part of him cared for at least Payne, he tried to warn him at the party even though he was stabbing him in the back at the same time.
I am loving Matt and Payne's relationship. I have fallen for Payne and really want him to have a HEA. I wonder how he's going to react when he finds out Matt is gay.?. Also, why is it that he has latched onto Matt? I mean what made him choose him without so much as a conversation between them?

finally a name that will match a DNA sample.. 12 to go, and I don't think Baz will be one of them. I think he was played by the 'big boys' as much as Ralphie and Payne were, only in a different capacity... hopefully he will get helpful later in the investigation, if not, I think someone will take him down.. just wonder if it will be the good guys or the bad guys to do it. Loved getting more Spence and his personality.. he's had my curiosity piqued for a while. Definitely an emotional chapter with everything that Frankie meant to Payne, topped with everything that Matt and Payne already feel for one another and neither can verbalize nor is even aware that the other feels. Wonder which one will put their feelings in words first?

Oh, thank GOD they now know at least someone else who was at that damn party!

What a fantastic chapter, CL! I was crying as hard as Payne (ok, maybe not that hard), when he was saying goodbye to Ralphie. Such a horrible, preventable tragedy. I would have sold Baz out too - what a scum - he's certainly no friend of Payne's.

I love the dynamic between Payne and Matt. Payne seems like this lost kid who's clinging to a safety blanket, and Matt is being a very good protector. At least Payne found someone who makes him feel safe; that's so important for him to feel safe right now.

Can't wait to find out what Bulger and the cops are gonna do when they bring in Marv. Damn perv.

I'm so happy there's an update on this story! I was hooked from the very first chapter. I can't wait to see how Payne and Matt's relationship develops. You are an excellent author and I've loved every story I've read of yours so far.

Chapter 8

Talk about a cliffhanger!

It was as wrenching as I feared it would be when Payne saw Ralphie, and I probably won't be the only reader who wants to smack Spence when he was poking. I will admit Spence did make some valid points about Matt's attitude toward the twinks in the gay community, however. Still, Matt didn't need the extra shit at that point.

So, now I'll go bounce around and yell "Argh!" a lot until the next chapter is done. :D

WOW that was just WOW! I'm happy that Payne remembered "MARV" but I can understand his reactions too! I mean damn! OH and Spence was adorable! I think he totally had the right to get snippy with Matt and his way of thinking. I love how Matt when Payne would touch or hold him would think how right if felt. I wonder if Matt will ever figure out what Payne had said in like a transcript about his giant with the scared face I mean it was on the video but then again he's trying not to see Payne as more then a victim. I was kinda hoping his partner would have caught on to that but then again they are still trying to find the bastards who did this to Payne and Ralphie. OH and I was wondering if Baz was now going to be in trouble now that Payne has remembered some of that night? OR has Allen shipped him out of the country? I can't wait to read what goes down with Marv I'm kinda hoping that Matt gets some alone time with no witness... Just a thought.... Thank YOU for updating and sharing!
