Ahhhhhhh! I held off crying until the end when they were bantering back and forth. They are so sweet together!
CL, this was such an amazing story! I love Payne, and Matt is so good for him and vice-versa. Payne has changed so much for the better as Matt helped him deal with his attack.
It's too bad about Matt's upbringing. It's so hard to lose a parent at such a young age, and totally understandable that his father just couldn't handle being a parent after he lost his wife. But his father wound up being a homophobic asshat, and therefore, no 'father' figure for his son. Despite that, Matt turned out to be a great guy, a great platonic husband, a wonderful dad, and a wonderful b/f to Payne. :)
I'll miss reading about these two.

why do i get the feeling that you rushed this one??? I realize you're on a roll with backdoor pol, but I just ... I feel let down I guess. and it seems like the other one with Tino and Henrick was also ended too soon as well... I love your work I really do but it seems like maybe you're just trying to get rid of the ones you seem to have lost interest in. Anywho like I said I love your work and will continue reading! Thank YOU for sharing!

Yay! I've been waiting on this one for a while, but good things are worth waiting for. I'll bet you are happy to have 2 wips done at once :D How many have you got left now? Good luck with them all ^_^ I'm off to read the newest ch of RU instead of writing on my own story. Mwahahahaaaa

I finally caught up with this story!
I was on the edge of me seat when Matt got shot. Holy shit, he was in a coma for MONTHS!!! He's damn lucky he woke up from it!
I'm sorry Payne has been dealing with so much angst lately, thinking Matt wouldn't want anything to do with him now that the case is over. Glad Spence told him the truth. :)

Have I told you how much I love this story? These characters make me so happy and I can't wait for Payne to go see matt!!! I literally drop everything I'm doing or reading when this story gets updated. Please update again soon. I'm so impatient.

well, Alan slimebag is out of the way, and Payne has just taken that first step to becoming fabulous again, but you sure know how to make them work or pay for every little centimeter they gain. I guess that Payne is processing the clues to Matt's family dynamics fairly well, because that didn't feel like just guilt moving him forward. Looks like both of these guys are going to get some time to heal... together, but I don't think for a moment that the road is going to be a smooth one... not your style... I'll patiently wait.
