Great chapter, it's interesting to see Hunter and Ghost get a little closer. It's cool that Ghost is embracing his gift now, but I agree with Hunter that Ghost probably wouldn't be comfortable betraying his own people. I wonder if he'll listen to Hunter and go to Lance, or just try to run away again.
I love this story! Lance seems like a scary dude, I hope we get to meet him sometime.I also wonder how long Hunter plans to keep Ghost around, or if it's an indefinite kind of deal. Either way, it's a good thing Ghost will learn to control his magic better. Thanks for writing, looking forward to the next chapter!

I have just read through all of the posted chapters in one sitting and have to say that this story is not only highly imaginative and witty at times, but also fantastic enough writing that I think you should get it published! I am so glad you decided to continue with this story! I remember it form its first draft, where Ghost's teeth were pointed, and loved it since the start!
Love these guys, their characters fit together perfectly. I like Ghost;s spirit, altough it is hard for me to imagine him as a dignified priest with that foul mouth of his!
Looking forwar to see what is going to happen when they arrive at Hunter's home!
Wow, such a fast update! I reread the whole thing when you updated previously and sometimes you never quite know if you'll ever see an update again from stories on this site or if the story will disappear into the archives... was so glad to get another chapter right away. Thank you! I also read this story when you posted the old version, and had been really curious how it was going to end at the time. I liked the old one a lot, though I think your more modern setting in this version is probably a bit more unique as an urban fantasy, or I am guessing some sort of apocalyptic setting, with the references to old junkyards/buses but people are riding horses? It's a cool setting anyway, fun to see all your details. I like your writing, and the dynamic between Ghost and Hunter. Hunter's an asshole and a rapist, but you write the magic so well and you could tell Hunter was desperate to survive so you can't quite hate him, either. And Ghost is kind of a little bastard, but he's tough and has humor despite everything he's been through. I don't think Hunter will just killl him when he no longer needs Ghost's magic to be safe but I can see why Ghost wouldn't trust that. I wonder if Hunte will let him go, though. Though it sounds like Ghost might not have anywhere to go if his people hate magic that much. Anyway, looking forward to the next chapter!
