Why do your chapters always read so fast to me? I get to the end longing to read more. Which is a good thing, right? Lol.

This chapter, like the others, have left me guessing. These new men from Pompey... will they prove friends or foe to Tito/ Duro? Will Maro influence them somehow? And what does Aulus have up his sleeve?

Sten is still surprising me; saving the slave from certain death. But I can 'feel' the pressure growing on Tito, from the others, who want him to do things their way. What happens when they push him too hard, or when he refuses their cruel requests? Tito protects Duro, but who will protect Tito?

As always, looking forward to the next chapter.

I so often scrolled right over this stories name because I'm not especially into historical slave stories or any slave stories at all for that matter...except when they're written really well. But my default action is to pass them by first. Then my eye fell onto the authors name and my memory struck me, isn't that the author of "Collateral Damage"? I absolutely loved that story (and surely miss lil Talya and Micah a lot)! And so I started to read.

Can't say I'm disappointed :) Again it's well written and doesn't gild or paint behavior and customs back then more beautifully than they've actually been. I actually cringed at the "cleaning Tito's cock from the oil and his own shit part with his mouth". You sure don't sugarcoat. But historical stories shouldn't be sugarcoated as times were dirty and not as hygienic as nowadays. It always makes me appreciate living in the twentieths century haha

Now I'm only just at chapter seven so I'm gonna enjoy the next three chapters slowly before I'm up to date :D

Thanks for sharing your stories with us again!!!

Ooh, wonderful... two chapters for me to read :D

I simply cannot believe that Duro would have attempted to run away. Not only run away, but steal, also. It surely goes against everything he has ever learned since being a child. But I suppose fear of an unknown future can make a person do strange things.

And, we now have a murder mystery too! Did Tito really leave the tent un-noticed, to go kill his slave's molester? Wouldn't Flavo at least have cried out, or fought back? I hope you don't keep me waiting too long to find out what really happened, lol.

Thoroughly enjoying the read, even if I do miss-guess what might possibly occur next. You keep me on my toes :P

Another gripping chapter, and thrilling read.

I don't think we've heard the end of Flavo. He might have taken Duro once, but I'm sure he'll want him again. Or at the very least, finish the job he started of ending his life.
And I don't trust that Sten, either. If the two of those hook up, I fear more for Tito and his little slave.

I wonder what will happen next on this perilous journey. Looking forward to finding out :D
