Hah, I was slow as hell about it but I finally figured out why the setting felt so familiar. You're the author behind the story about that deaf kid I read ages ago and can't remember the name of, and this is set in the same universe! I had no idea you'd written more stories about that world, but I'm really glad I found out =). Quality writing and great world building, I can't ask for more.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved that it was in a pseudo-African city! I hated how bad things got for Zhas, but at least he is going somewhere better. I can't seem to find the second story on fiction press though. I guess your user name is not the same there as it is there? Anyway, I look forward to reading the second book whenever I find it. Until next time.

I really liked this story and want to read the rest...and finally meet the mystery man! Posting it here is great but I don't mind going to fictionpress- only I can't find a link to your account. Please add it to your profile so I can check it out!

I feel real funny right now.

I've started to read it today, beginning right in the middle I might say and leaving out the first chapters as I wanted to jump right into the drama (since I'm such an angst whore), and I immediately fell for Zhas feelings and felt for him having to carry such a plight. When I read of Maarik I deliberated if he could become a love interest of Zhas. I liked his abrasive character immediately but wished he'd be more handsome (I admit I'm open to cliches as long as they're well written). I imagined Zhas melting his stone cold exterior and they falling in love, eventually. hmmm, it would have been perfect.

I didn't realize who's the author until I came to the end of it lol. But when I read wanda walker after ending book 1 I felt like "oh yeah, I should have known only she would create such weird and imperfect and even ugly characters and manage to bring me to like them because of the way she gives them depth"

So now I'm going to go back, start at the beginning to read the missed chapters. Then I'm heading over to fictionpress (I'm perfectly capable of that) and will read book 2 and 3.

I love love love this story. And yes pleeeeease I would love to have book 2 on here! I think his Zhas's new master is goinb to be waaaaay better for him. I know he is a salty old sea captain but like he said...he's not a monster. I cant wait to see how their lives are together. Thank you for sharing your talent with us :)

I really enjoyed reading The Sponsors and Zhas' journey thus far. Can't wait to read more of his story (and hopefully you do decide to put the other books for this up). I found this well written and would probably rate this as one of the well written stories that I've followed. I all eagerly anticipate for more of your work =)
