Aww, the poor Eithos is so adorable and crushed. You've done a great job writing a real scifi story... can really picture the world and characters.

I always look out for your chapter updates!
When pyr figured out the eithos could talk, the first thing that popped in to my head was that damn the eithos is nice...all those times he'd mocked/insulted him.
More importantly, my darling (yes the eithos is my darling. How can you not find him adorable?) doesn't have a name yet. I've had to stop myself from making one up for him so far lol

It's too bad Pyr doesn't know sign language.

I remember reading the first chapter of this, forgot about it, recalled it and now I read the whole thing again in one night.

Its interesting. I wonder is he going to get rescued and bring his friend along with him?

Haha omg loved this chapter, was not expecting the Eithos to be that smart. Will he give it a name? Does it think he's nesting because of the canvas? Ahhh just want more!!!!!!

I'm wondering HOW exactly the eithos knows english. Did the eithos meet and learn from other humans before he met Pyry? Or is the eithos an incredibly fast learner (which implies that eithos as a species are MORE intelligent than humans)?

I'm also very interested in the eithos' perspective. As much as Pyry observed him, the eithos also had the time to observe Pyry and he appears to have recognized that Pyry is intelligent, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to engage in any interaction with Pyry in the first place.

I wonder if he also thinks of Pyry (and humans in general) as lesser being, like a pet animal (albeit, of the more intelligent variety). Or maybe he sees us as that weirdo alien - strange and different, but still of equal intelligence and equal worth. Or he thinks of us as a higher being with higher intelligence, like a master or even a deity of sorts. Or perhaps something else entirely, which makes more sense, since he's eithos, so he likely doesn't think in terms humans can relate to.

He could have swarm intelligence; or telepathic connectivity; or extreme memory skills; or creative thinking skills - so many ways to make this interesting! Plus, it depends on whether eithos are social creatures (which he appears to be judging by his interaction with Pyry), or perhaps even eusocial (it's the most complex form of social organization found in animals on earth, it appears in ants, bees, naked mole rats... humans try to copy it with varying degrees of success), or perhaps more solitary; and what this particular eithos's past is (does he have past traumas? was he kicked out of the group he lived in?).

Sorry for blabbering, but I got excited because I'm really curious how you're going to portray eithos as a non-human intelligent species. It has so many possibilities!

This story is so clever and interesting. It felt like it was moving very slowly at first, but it's really growing on me. I had a little trouble visualizing the eithos. I wish there was a drawing available somewhere. As always, I wish aff had a system to notify people when a story updates. I'll have to try to remember to keep checking back for new chapters. I really want to know what's going to happen!
