An update, wow! I was just thinking about this story the other day, and wondering if you got back from your trip and still were interested in writing it. I hope you had an amazing backpacking experience, and hope you found lots of inspiration for this story! But that's, err, not to say I hope you had experiences pertaining to Ant's. I am very glad you didn't get kidnapped. haha

Anyway! I must say I really like your writing style. The descriptions are so lush, you really paint a picture. And I really like Ant, especially how he extended kindness to the crying girl. Feel bad for her, and wonder if she'll become a regular character but since she's been moved to "labor" I guess not. If she's a maid, I guess that wouldn't be as bad as being a sex slave, but maybe Richard sees it that way because a sex slave does less "work"? Then again, the labor slaves might get thrown in a mine somewhere or something horrible, who knows. It was also kind of interesting seeing Peter. He was kind of an enigma before, so this little conversation showed a new side of him. I almost thought the silent persona he had around Richard was the "real" him but it seems like he's something else entirely. He seems to have Richard's trust, but is still a slave himself... I wouldn't forgive him easily if I were Ant, either, though. He didn't try to tip off Ant, or make himself seem untrustworthy or anything, and instead took part in the kidnapping perfectly. But then again he might just be that scared of disobeying Richard? I hope we can see more of Peter, and what's making him tick.

Thanks for coming back to this story! I love it so far, and hope to see more in the future!

Hey, I just remembered this story and wanted to check back for updates. I thought I'd already written a review back in march but apparently I never did. I've really enjoyed it so far. Here's hoping you got back safely from your own backpacking trip and that you haven't abandoned the story!

Oh, it was so exciting to see this chapter (and an awesome chapter, too!) And then I read that you'd be gone for two and a half months, nooooo! So sad! Well, I hope you have an amazing trip, and when you come back you are full of inspiration for this story, too. I'd love to read more of it eventually! Seriously, great chapter here, definitely getting more and more dark the more you "build" the atmosphere. Thanks for writing.

Ooh, another frightening (and excellent) chapter. Glad Anthony got some water, though he's right, he probably needs more than that. I'm guessing he could last awhile without food, but he'll get really weak? Seems like he's a pretty skinny lad already, too. Wonder what the group was separated for? Kind of ominous. The doctor with the bloody office was terrifying, too, did he do anything to the other "slaves"? Hopefully they all still have their kidneys. Thanks for writing!

Yay, another chapter! Glad you didn't skip over this part, it was very interesting. I really enjoy your style... you can make it so real. It almost feels like being there with Anthony. Update soon, please. I can't wait to read more of your story.
