Oh noooo. I am heartbroken. :,-( you have to tell us what happened next pretty soon! Please!

Oh my gosh! No!!!!! Quintus can't be dead!!!!!! I am going to cry now. Did Camilla have him killed?

“Stichus servus meus liber heresque esto.” slave was made heres by his will, it was necessary that he should be made free also by the will. (Is this correct?)

I seriously hope he's not dead, I wasn't expecting this and story summary/tags didn't imply there would be a death of a major character. Is this story going to end up being a Marcus/Formosus pairing? Will he go to the Villa with Marcus? That just seems to wrong, I want him to go there with Quintus because that's where they both were happy together. What about the box with the scroll in it that Quintus had Formosus put in the cupboard? Will he have Marcus get it for him?

I seriously hope Quintus isn't dead, maybe, just seriously injured in an attempted assassination attempt but it failed. He may be wounded and near death but perhaps still alive. I hope!!!!!

Please don't let Quintus be dead but Marcus said he was so he must be! I am shocked by this turn of events and don't know what else to say except maybe cry. What's Formosus going to do? Oh my gosh, what if Marcus did it because he wants Formosus? Oh dear, this is upsetting.

I fear for Formosus and Marcus's future with this black cloud that is the mistress hanging over them :( .

Yes, I think it would be a great idea and not so confusing for some of your readers to put the memories in italics, that would be great. I will re-read those chapters already written again to get it straight in my mind the facts of what was happening and then be able to keep up better with the story. If you do decide to italicize, maybe you should use an asterisk with a notation at the bottom or top of chapter indicating it takes place in the past, and or future, and or present.

Damn, that Camilla is a bitch and she should be the one who is crucified. Granted, Formosus is playing with fire with his kissing Marcus though. I think Quintus needs to have a long heart to heart with his beloved slave.

Another great chapter and your story is very well written.

I didn't think the past parts were that confusing but I agree that italics would make it clearer. Oh man there's is so much anticipation building! Sigh can't wait for the next chapter!

This is a lovely story and very well written. I am suprised by how much support Quintus gets!! He is kind and smitten with Formosus but treats him more like an object or a pet, definitelly not like a lover- I mean he didn't even bother to find out his real name instead naming him himself!But that is what makes this story good- it has layers and the relationships are complicated. Thank you for sharing

Uh oh! I wonder if it was the wife's door that was ajar, was it her that was peeking?!

Does Formosus have a death wish? I am worried now that it was Camilla who was watching them and now Qunitus will find out and what will he have to do with his beloved slave. Was Qunitus' nightmare a premonition of what is yet to come. Why would Formosus jeopardize his rather easy life with Qunitus. I don't think things will bode well for Formosus now but hope this story has a happy ending of sorts for him and Qunitus.

Ohhh the suspense! I can only imagine who is on the other side of that door. I wish Formosus had just told him master what had happened. Very well thought out story. I hope in the next chapter we learn more of what happened with the emporer. I understand now more so why the slave is the way he is. I hope deep down that he really does love his master.
