I still can't believe Quintus is dead and now a part of me is starting to hold out hope that he isn't gone due to the state of his 'body' being unrecognizable except for the ring on his finger and his hair. Now, this is me playing the detective but could Quintus possibly be playing 'dead' and used another's body (were there morgues or something like them in Rome back then) that closely resembled his shape and size to catch whoever was plotting to murder him? Probably not, because he would not want to jeopardize Formosus life but I am hoping he's still around and maybe at the Villa in Tibur (did anyone else know about that place?) waiting for his lover. Wow, Camilla was actually defending Formosus, that was a surprise. I am still very suspicious of Marcus but more so now of Junius, Titus's slave but why would he be so jealous and enough to commit such a crime of passion? Geeze, my mind is playing out all different types of scenarios, lol.

I am glad you like my name, I am a big fan of the books and now movies too.

I still haven't got over the shock of what happened to Quintus! I want to yell at Formosus to get the heck out of there and take one of the horse's like his Master told him to do and get to that damn villa!!!!!! I don't know what Marcus is up to but there is something very sneaky about him and I don't trust him. I hope Lucius doesn't find Formosus because he will probably turn him over to that gorilla of a Centurio! Oh, please keep up with the fast updates!

Argh! I am ready to pull all my hair out! I know Formosus is distraught by losing Quintus but he's not a total idiot or stultissimus like Junius said about him. Um, what's stultissimus mean anyway? I hope Formosus remembers what Quintus told him and get his ass moving and fast!!!!!!!

I never saw that movie before but liked it and another I recently saw was Ben Hur and it had an awesome chariot race in it with beautiful horses.

I am glad we know how it happened but not that he's dead. Now, to find out who done it.

I loved the flashback scene between them!

I have to get to bed just watched my favorite show that I am addicted to like candy; The Walking Dead.

I am confused! Why have you written out Quintus? Who found him dead in bed? How did Marcus know about it because there were screams after he confronted Formosus in the alley? There are so many questions that need answering. Who would want him dead? His wife? Marcus? Another enemy? I wish he was alive but that is wishful thinking on my part. I never expected this to happen and don't know what to make of it.

I've been home sick from work with a doctor's note all week and have been bored of out my mind. I've lurking around here catching up on stories I follow and finding new ones to read. I am glad I found yours. I have only read one other story set during the Roman era like this one that I really loved and it was called Collateral Damage by DrkDreamer but he removed it for publishing. I am intrigued by this one too and can't wait to see where you are going with it. I love the intrigue and mystery surrounding it. I do feel horrible that Quintus has been killed because I was really beginning to like him. I hope Formosus survives this.

Oh gosh I didn't expect anything like this to happen! Will Formosus do what Quintus told him to do or will he... well I hate to call him stupid but if it were me instead of just standing around I would have hopped on a horse and got out of there D: !

I just found this story and read all six chapters at once and let me tell you I am hooked. I got a movie out of the library a few weeks ago called, Quo Vadis, with Robert Taylor and Deborah Kerr. I am telling you that was really a great move and you should check it out. This is the summary; A fierce Roman general becomes infatuated with a beautiful Christian hostage and begins questioning the tyrannical leadership of the despot Emporer Nero.

Anyway, you really have nailed this story and it pure perfection. I kind of wish Quintus had a plan and would have been more careful and perhaps slept more lightly or with a weapon to defend himself. I hope Formosus takes one of the horses and rides to the villa like Quintus told him. I don't know how he can get the scroll though with everyone looking for him.

I forgot to add how sad it is that Quintus will never be able to see the finished marble image of his beautiful slave. I have to admit my heart is breaking as much as Formosus' is over Quintus' murder.
