I was waiting for an update to Frayed Ties, when I saw that you had updated this one. I was a bit leery of the phrase "toy for torture" in the summary, not wanting to read a lot of that sort of thing, but since I like your other work so much, I decided to give it a chance. I'm very glad that I did. This is another winner, and I look forward to reading more of it.

I like Frayed Ties better, but I also love this and I'm really, really happy that you're exploring the world more (at least I think it's the same world, it seems like it). I love the characters, especially poor Dana and I'm sure that he'll have Marik wrapped around his little finger before long! Big fan of your writing here, keep up the excellent work.

I truly enjoy that, even though he feels safe and protected with the prince, Dara is still unable to immediately get over emotional trauma. He tries to let himself give in but can't do it, and I really like that. There are a lot of stories that are unrealistic in that aspect and simply allow a character to respond a certain way simply because they want to, and prolonged behaviors can be forgotten at will.
I appreciate the way you've handled this and his mentality about the entire situation. Can't wait for the next one!
