WOW. I avoided this story for a while, since I'm waiting on updates from so many stories already. So...many...stories. I'm SO glad I finally gave this story a shot! I've read every chapter today, and now...oh, no...I'm waiting for an update...sob. Seriously, though, this story is extremely well done. It's sad that most of Dustin & Burout's problems are due to misunderstandings from culture clash...that said, I still can't bring myself to like Dustin's father. Bleh. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to read more.

WELL DAMN! I just read this whole new story to me because of a few comments from your reviewers and I must say I REALLY LOVE THIS ONE TOO! It's funny but I get just as frustrated with Burout and Dustins dad as Dustin does. I understand Dustins dad is more clinical then humanish but it would seem his time on Earth didn't do a damn thing for him. How was he able to sleep with Dustins mom she must have loved him at some point and he must have been charming to get into her pants??? I am hoping that with the others that got set free because of Dustin will tell the tale of what happened to him maybe Nester would be able to fill them in on all that Dustin had gone through and maybe Burout will look up the word "RAPE" as well as his father. I hope that if he does see a shrink the shrink finally get them to truly realize what they are doing wrong with him and Burwal had the right idea maybe he should ride their asses again for treating him the way they are. Also Burout needs to look up relationships earth style. I hope that Dustin learns their language soon and does not really let on that he does! I can't wait to read about the trial and find out what's going to happen when Dustins see's Helio let alone the others that used him and abused him! I hope the tale they tell is SO DAMN HORRIFIC it shocks his dad and Burout but also forces them to see that verlon are not just the pampered pets others make them be. I understand that when Burout finds out what happened he's going to go ape shit and lock Dustin to his person forever but like I said I hope he looks up information on earth relationships or listens in on the shrink talking to Dustin. I am sure though Dustin has a new found respect for what happens when verlorn mess up in the simplest ways. I hope Burwal is able to give Dustin more pointers and maybe info on his dad. WOW this has got to be THE longest review I have ever done! Sorry if I spelled the names wrong. Well I'm off to read the other story you have written about the lawyer I'm sure it will be just as great as the others! read ya laters!

The reality of slavery isn't about whether you're abused or not, its about how you're viewed and how you view yourself. Verlon are viewed as property, not people with equal rights. The captive Verlon who were forced to bond with Helro have to have permission to break that forced bond, they don't even have that much say in their lives. They may be well kept slaves, but they're still slaves.

Poor Dustin, to be back in that place :( But I like that he´s so determined and hopefully he´ll be able to escape his new "home" where nodoby cares about him. It crossed my mind that you have very few female characters, maybe you could introduce more? :D Anyway, I think you have about three characters that I like so far ;P ha ha

What a messed up world poor Dustin has found himself in. I love these dystopias though! One of my favorite series on this site are the November, December, etc.. series by Kavi (i think?). The culture you've developed is so interesting though. I can't wait to see how this trial goes. :)

Angela: I would guess you are very young and/or naive. So let me put this in different terms for you. If you were kidnapped and held captive by a madman subject to rules that made no sense, beaten and punished in various ways, and treated no better than an animal, do you think you would just say "oh what the heck, this is my life now and I like captivity and torture feels good now. I doubt it. I would prefer death to captivity. If running got me killed, so be it. Better free and dead than held in captivity.

I don't flee sorry for him because he had a good home where people love and room care better than what he had on earth but he still wasn't happy. Even though that guy save home for the same thing that's happening to him right, he still thought he had a better life and they took it from him. I hope they don't come get him soon two weeks and he wouldn't want to run away when his father and master come get him.

Ah! I can´t belive it you ended the chapter there!! It´s killing me! Man!!! ;)
On another note I hope Dustin breaks free from his new prison and kill (yes) all those horrible men. And then find a ship and go home. And eventually make the verlons understand what cruel traditions they have!
