Thanks for updating! This was a great chapter, it set up all sorts of possibilities for where you might go with the story. Personally, I was a bit relieved that you followed chapter 11 with this one, but that has more to do with my tastes since I prefer plot to angst. I feel a lot of sympathy for Ian; it seems he's constantly pushed outside his comfort zone by other characters and by his situation. I'm a bit surprised he hasn't had a bit of a break-down from the constant stress and internal conflict (I kind of want him to escape, actually... that or have a melt-down and be put back together by Aeron). Regardless, it seems he holds a grudge too well to accept Aeron out of his own volition.

Wow! I laughed so hard during the first half of this chapter my cat freaked out :) I loved that Aeron didn't tell Ian’s family about how Ian hid the bond (that’s actually really thoughtful of him), but I can’t help wondering how Aeron’s friends are going to react (after all, Aeron told them about how his mate was actively rejecting the bond and hiding from him, and they all saw Aeron at his worst...) Wonder what sort of magic was up with the window and the kiss (the ‘spreading tingle’ didn't sound quite right to me). I love your world building btw; you do a wonderful job of integrating it into the story without huge slabs of info dumping :D Can’t wait to find out who that weird guy was – I don’t think Aeron’s going to be too pleased he he ;)

this is one of the few good stories on this site. love it. I hope you update everyday since I only discovered this story yesterday, and I'm sort of addicted now.
