Thanks for the update!! Right in the feels again of course, I'm still reeling from this one. Aeron was just so broken when Ian left, I'm starting to feel bad for the guy. All the tentative hope, and then that image of him sobbing into the carpet with two broken coffee cups was just heart wrenching. Well done on the chapter and great to have you back!!

I don't know what possessed me to peek to see if there was an update at 3AM, but I couldn't be happier that I did. I'm still in pleasant shock. I will probably leave a better in-depth review later, but for now, I'm just going to react.

- Oooh what good, valid points Aeron has here.
' Behind that was the forest. Thick, leafy trees, playfully swaying to a song only they could hear.'
- Uh-oh! This can't lead to anything good. That blasted 'come to the forest' siren song.
“I just had a talk with Aeron. He said that we should take a walk in the forest to cheer up. It’s lovely out there right now. What do you say, bud,” I asked, encouragingly giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze. “Just you and me.”
- No, Ian, don't do it!
I’d prove it to them all. Their paranoia was unwarranted.
They could all just suck it!
- Oh, Ian...why do I have such a bad feeling about this?
I felt him search for me through the link, but he just couldn’t find me. He felt me, but he couldn’t tell where from.
- Oh no, Aeron can't find him?
‘Aeron,’ I tried, swallowing thickly. I just needed to hear his voice.
‘Ian!’
- It doesn't seem as if they know about Ian's bond with Aeron yet.
A furious roar ricocheted throughout my mind. The dark, sticky goo drowning me was blasted into nothing. Blinking, I could think again. Aeron. He was still there. He was still with me.
- Ian, you better put on the performance of a lifetime!
From somewhere far, far away, I could hear echoes of screaming and cursing and begging, but it just didn’t matter anymore.
The only thing that did, was to do whatever my Alpha wanted.
- Blast! At this rate, I'll bite my nails to tiny little nubs until the next chapter's up. Thanks so much for the update! Who'd have thought Rafael would cause so much trouble. It's a shame such a charismatic guy's on the wrong side of the tracks. I want to read more so badly.
After reading this yet again:
I wonder what Rell wanted to talk to Ian about or if it was just that he was worried about him.
“I want to scream out over the roof tops that I love you. I want to walk down the street holding your hand,” he continued, lifting one of his hands to cup my cheek. Then his eyes grew hard. “But I will do anything. I will do everything, just to keep you safe.” - A sweet as this sentiment was, thank GOODNESS he didn't do any of that. The only "safety" that Ian has right now is that their bond is not well-known.
Now I'm wondering who's power it was and how they managed to plant it on Ian, the "forest siren song." If Rafael has powers of "compulsion," then was it his dad? Ian did catch his scent in his room at his uncle's house first...or could it have been that little girl? And what was the real purpose of the kiss, or was Rafael really just goofing around? It might have been a distraction.
I also wonder...did Durain seal up whatever memories Ian had of his parents up until now?
He certainly recognized his dad right off the bat, and also worried enough about him to try to protect little Tim.
Is the little girl his sister? If Ian's dad was the one who pretty much hypnotized the kids, what else can the guy do?
'A memory of Durain flashed before my eyes, how he threatened to crush my mind back then in that hospital. He hadn’t actually wanted to hurt me. This man though, he very well might.' - Jeez, NOW Ian finally realized how much even Durain cared about him, enough to see him as a second son.
Can all Alphas sever pack ties like this? Is Kent just that strong, or is it one of his specific powers? And what is with Ian's dad just selling him and his abilities out like this? He didn't seem like he was under compulsion at all.
I eagerly await the next chapter.
Ian shouldn't have left, but Darain(again) and Aeron, to a smaller degree, is to blame here. Why hadn't they tell him anything?Because it is his family? He would probably understand if they told him everything, especially since his uncle probably culd back them up.
Anyway, Poor Ian, poor Aeron, poor Ian's sister... and his mother??where is she, is she the one the new Alpha reffered to when he said that he is tired of the ones that expire?It is probably far fetched theory, so I will just have to wait and see!
I am so glad that we will have some more soon and please do not leave us with clifthanger. Please?
