Still on chapter 25 but I had to mention that while the story itself is great and the characters are all lovely, the sex is a bit too much. It feels too forced, too frequent, and while it's supposedly being used as a comfort prop for the characters in difficult times, its timing is completely illogical. I truly believe that reducing its amount will strengthen the story. Most longtime yaoi readers start to get tired of the sex scenes anyway; the more you add, the more we'll skip sections. Plot with a controlled smattering of sex is best.

Reached chapter 30, and while the story has taken an interesting twist and I'm loving the angst, having Zale and Rowan suddenly kiss when they decide they need to go after Emily instead of Monroe makes it very, very difficult to take this seriously. This story (and any future others) would seriously benefit from less random public displays of affection and sexsexsex. This is a fantasy, yes, but even in fantasy settings characters need to act realistically, otherwise the writing will always come across as amateurish and over the top. You're too good of a writer for this. Piece of advice from a reader who cares.

Done reading. That was fun while it lasted, thanks for sharing :) One final critique: When you started the story, everyone's dialogue fit the 'ye olden' setting to a degree, and it was great. But as the chapters progressed, modern slang started bleeding in (at one point Rowan actually let loose a 'babe', and there were quite a few 'yeah's thrown in among other slang). It would feel more consistent and authentic if the dialogue sticks to the same style as the earlier chapters.

One thing that bothered me was the whole Jaden confrontation though.
"Henri growled and charged, Jaden meeting his attack. The two were suddenly in a duel, seeming evenly skilled."
That's the last we hear about Jaden in this story, before Monroe's husbands totally ignore that their King is in a life-death duel and instead rush to their injured husband, then the chapter ends, and in the next chapter we never know what happened with the duel. You get what I mean?
That's one plot overlook in the ending that I noticed.
Kudos on permanently crippling Monroe though, I thought that was awesome actually XD Not too many authors will do that to their characters ;D

I absolutely love this story!! I started reading it a couple days ago and just caught up! I can't wait to see what else this series holds! The one thing that I would love to see is a story about all of 5 of the husbands as old men, in a universe where all of them survived and got to love each other all their lives, but I'm a sucker for cute romance novels.

nice fast-paced chapter! I got a bit confused about the whole monroe and henry identity thing (who was doing or saying what in whose body) but stuff sorted itself out in the end. i wish we got to know this andro dude more but tbh i'm not that interested in the villain's character XD There are so many husbands you've got enough character development on your plate to handle lol
