i just LOVE this!! just finished the second chapter and i HAVE to comment now!! I am loving absolutely EVERYTHING about this world! Everything is so deliciously thought out and the world-building is interesting and all of the characters are interesting!! This is exactly the kind of thing i want to read!! Kale/Chime is such a hauntingly lovely idea. i LOVE this!!!

Another great chapter. He's beginning to feel the physical results of the loss of Chime more keenly.Seems like Tirak is similar to some of the worst dark age feudal kingdoms in Europe (like France) when it comes to rights of the common man and the privileges of the nobility. Its disappointing then that Monchol for all its fractional technological superiority doesn't seem to have a disciplined army.That's probably why Ro'don was able to do so well besides geographical advantages. I wonder who the third m is in the relationship

Great story!! Loved the history of the war. So will Kale get Chime back from Mance? Will it change his growing feelings for Vaughn? I like them together. and I actually like Kale without Chime. Interesting story. Keep going.

I like that the demon child still has some strength in him even though that god thing left him. Can't wait to see him and that female friend reunite!

Its great to see the relationship between them progress (a bit), with some nice world building. Its become a lot easier to visualize the world they live and I'm honestly really happy that this never became some poorly disguised d/s slave fic and is instead something far richer. Eight chapters in and the big question about what could of happened to Chime still remains, what role the God's still play (will they take the decline of their order or will they intervene since they were hardly fair with their initial intervention in the first place - their outrage was not over their wayward brother but rather that someone would dare to oppose them) as well as further questions about the structure of the countries and their politics remain, although we're probably only going to find out substantively more about Tirak much later in the story and perhaps the eastern cities not at all.The order itself seems to embrace elements of its own corruption, you have individuals who can sense truth and look into the minds of their fellows, and yet you also have the extreme dichotomy of an organization that can't/won't justly manage its respective branches. How will those divisions within the order manifest, it is after all an organization that enjoyed tremendous power and now has seen that crumble. Probably though loyalty is most important to them (loyalty within the order) so abuses to the people of Ro'don were overlooked (it was also profitable and pleasurable to do so) perhaps by the instruction/blessing of the vengeful gods

Chapter 1-6. Oh, I'm looking forward to the rest of this story! Chime has grown on me even though he didn't have much screen time. I can't wait for the next update! Please update! What does happen to Chime after all this? Is he still going to be back with Kale or is going to keep the bastard prince insane?

So awesome so far. I wonder if his inability to sense Chime might not also have anything to do with what happened with Mance.I also wonder if having Hokati blood might also mean something more that just some cosmetic features,diluted though it must be.Sex scenes aside I can't wait to see him get his revenge on the Order
